Chapter 1 - Awakening

Chapter 1

"Awakening"

Adrian, Adrian, Adrian…

Don't leave me here. I'm scared.

The whispers were beginning to get worse, repetitive and loud. Again and again, and Adrian couldn't do anything about it. His body seemed to have been immobilized, furthermore, he vaguely saw himself lying on a bed.

What's happening!? Why can't I move my limbs?!... He panicked, trying as hard as he could to get up. Yet his body didn't listen to his command.

Fuck! He screamed, but nothing left his mouth. At this very point, Adrian's fear and confusion was stirred together.

Please… I just wanna get up, nothing else… I-I can't die yet! He begged, hoping to fate to give him another chance.

However, the male voice that had been lingering in his head suddenly whispered:

May the Blue Star shine.

Before being able to process what he had heard, his body suddenly jolted awake; even stranger, he had regained control over his body!

Upon waking up, Adrian could feel his heart pounding rapidly like a piston, and he could see his right hand trembling while the other one grabbed onto the red sheet.

His eyes widened when finding out he was surrounded by strangers dressed in medieval

clothing. No, their attires were rather luxurious, resembling that of royalty.

To his right, Adrian saw a man dressed in a grey waistcoat. His face stayed calm while his dark slate-blue eyes landed on Adrian.

Adrian also noticed that the man was wearing a pince-nez, thinking that he had been transported into the past.

Soon, he turned around and scanned the people in bewilderment. Adrian's soft lips seemed to twitch as if trying to say something.

"W-Who are you?..." He asked, somewhat in a polite way. He suspected that if his mouth slipped, he would get executed for being rude toward a royal family.

"Where am I?... And who are you?" He questioned for the second time, and this time, a fifteen years old girl moved toward him.

As the girl slowly approached, Adrian pushed himself back as a response. He could see her red-long-hair swayed as she moved, and the rimless glasses she was wearing bounced on her soft nose.

However, the girl suddenly stopped and said:

"Caden, it's me, Shera. Do you remember me?" She asked softly, while her face seemed to indicate worry.

"Huh?..." Adrian responded, feeling puzzled. He didn't know what to do at this point, he just knew that the girl in front of him was worrying him so much.

The girl soon moved to his left side, before pulling him into a warm hug. Adrian, somehow, felt comfortable and safe. The embrace appeared to have calmed him down from the terrifying experience.

"Prince Caden appears to have lost his memories from the impact. However, his head is in good condition." The voice came from the left side of Adrian; he was the man who was wearing the pince-nez!

Upon hearing this, Shera appeared to refuse the doctor's words. Driven by denial, she immediately denied and said:

"What! It can't be true! Have you checked him thoroughly!?"

The doctor soon composedly explained as a response, "I have, Princess Shera, I have. Prince Caden has lost his memories."

"Wait! You can't just stop like that! There must be something you can do, Plegon, you just don't try!" Shera raised her voice, looking at Plegon while tightly holding Caden's hands.

"Please, Plegon…" the princess begged desperately, knowing that Caden had lost the memories about her, and the beautiful moments when she helped Caden with his wounds.

Plegon sensed a wave of grief shrouding him; he could feel the pain that Shera had, but he couldn't do anything. He couldn't change the result, he had tried his best…

"Your Highness, forgive me… I have tried my best," Plegon admitted politely, feeling guilty for being unable to fulfill her wish.

I feel guilty for taking this body… but it's not my fault. Adrian thought for a moment, but he couldn't think straight—for the room was too noisy and overwhelmed his head. This is too much… Do I have to tell them to give me some space?

"Plegon…" Adrian's soft voice soon reached the doctor, who had been quiet since confessing his inability. "Where am I? Where is this?"

Hearing this from Caden's mouth, Plegon immediately answered his question in a calm tone, "We are in the Arbuellan Kingdom, Your Highness."

Arbuellan Kingdom? So this isn't the Medieval Era? Adrian questioned inwardly, seemingly puzzled. He soon realized that he was neither transported into the Medieval Era nor the past; he had been transmigrated into another world!

Adrian then cleared his throat, before requesting the people to leave the royal bedchamber, "May I have some space? I just… need time."

Shera soon understood that she needed to give Caden space, yet the pain of leaving him was… unbearable. However, the simple request was then granted.

Before leaving, at the door, Plegon turned his head toward Caden. He didn't say anything, but his eyes seemed to be exuding a feeling of grief.

The door soon closed gently.

"Finally… a quiet room…" Adrian exhaled softly, before leaning against the headboard of the fancy bed.

Upon saying that, he soon noticed the change in his voice—the voice of a young boy! Even though he was yet to know his age in this second life, he speculated he might be a young boy.

After scanning the room for a moment, his eyes stumbled upon a cabinet by the window.

Although he experienced a numb sensation in his legs, Adrian forced himself to stand up and step toward the cabinet. However, it didn't go as he expected.

His legs were trembling as he approached the marble cabinet, and the warm sunbeam from the outside soon shone upon his golden hair.

Halfway there, Adrian realized he couldn't force himself anymore. Before collapsing to the floor completely, he quickly reached for the cabinet and tightened his grip on it.

"Shit!..." He complained, feeling a little frustrated.

Upon looking at his own reflection, Adrian's eyes immediately widened when finding out a little boy with blond hair was staring at him. His face was rather soft, and his golden eyes appeared to emanate a feeling of enchantment.

"Holy s…" he paused in disbelief, spontaneously looking around in astonishment. "It's cool, I guess?..."

After pinching his skin, caressing his own hair, and checking his body, Adrian's attention was then caught by the outside world. He soon crawled with all his might combined to take a peek!

Even though his body was trembling, Adrian forced himself once again just to see what the world really looked like.

The moment when he was able to stand, his eyes discovered a majestic and resplendent society. The houses were varied—from reddish-roofed houses to bluish-roofed houses!

"What the hell…" he blurted out, completely stunned by what he had just seen.
