"Was that Kaito who told you? That he was in Liyue?" Having learned that Acheron already knew where Kaito was, Miko pressed the question further.
She wanted to know — had Kaito volunteered that information before he left, or had Acheron been the one to ask?
"Yes. He told me before he left," Acheron replied, giving a small nod.
"Is that something he does every time? Like, whenever he's heading somewhere on his own?"
With her first question answered, Miko moved straight to the next.
"Depends on the situation. Sometimes I just happen not to be around, so naturally he doesn't mention it."
Acheron considered it for a moment before answering.
Whatever the case, she still needed to maintain Kaito's image as a thoughtful, considerate man from her end. Not that this was a fabrication, really — it simply was what it was. She wasn't embellishing anything.
"And aside from you — does that little girl Wendy know too?" Miko wanted more.
Truthfully, if it weren't for Kiana's peculiar circumstances, that question would have included Kiana's name as well. But she still didn't know enough about Kiana to ask about her directly — so she'd leave that for now.
Still, even going through Wendy, she figured she could probably learn something about Kiana eventually. Kaito wouldn't make exceptions only for Acheron and Wendy — whatever he did for them, he almost certainly did for the others too.
"Of course he does — though more often than not, it's just one of us who happens to mention it to the rest."
Acheron hadn't expected Miko to probe this deeply, so she improvised — filling in details about an arrangement that simply didn't exist.
She had no choice. At the end of the day, Acheron, Wendy, and Kaito were all the same person. There was no scenario where Kaito went somewhere and his other selves didn't know about it. But that was obviously not something she could say out loud — so improvising was the only option.
Improvised or not, though, she was certain she would genuinely do something like that.
"So the two of you — well, I mean, all of you... there are so many of you, and Kaito is only one person, so..."
"So what?"
Watching Miko hesitate, Acheron found herself genuinely curious about where this was going. It was rare to see Miko look so uncertain — and that alone made it interesting.
"So... is there enough of him to go around?"
After considerable deliberation, that was what Miko finally settled on asking. She'd originally wanted to be more direct, but ultimately decided against it.
"Enough to go around?"
The phrasing gave Acheron a strange mental image — like the lot of them were going to divide Kaito up and share him for dinner.
"I mean, there are so many of you, but there's only one Kaito. How does that even get sorted out?"
Seeing that Acheron hadn't quite followed, Miko chose to spell it out a little more clearly — though she was aware it was still not entirely clear.
"Sorted out? I'm not really sure myself. However Kaito wants to arrange things is fine with me. I don't particularly mind either way."
Interpreting the question as being about how time and companionship were divided between them, Acheron answered accordingly.
It seems like she still doesn't quite follow what I'm getting at...
But she's really that indifferent about it — to this extent?
In that case... she's probably going to feel the same way about what I'm about to say.
Miko listened quietly and couldn't help thinking exactly that.
She had to admit — she genuinely admired Acheron's composure. That level of detachment was simply not something she herself was capable of.
"Then — what do you think of my relationship with Kaito?" Since Acheron seemed indifferent even to things that concerned her directly, Miko decided to try a different angle.
She wanted to hear it from Acheron — how she saw the relationship between her and Kaito.
Acheron certainly didn't know yet what had happened between her and Kaito the night before, so this was the perfect window to ask before she found out.
She's actually not going to just come out and say it directly...

Acheron noted this quietly to herself before answering aloud: "I'd say you two seem to get along quite well."
She left it at that, offering nothing further.
She already knew, of course, that Miko was going to ask why.
"And why would you say that, Acheron?" Right on cue, the question arrived.
"Because you're together often, and the way you two interact — it's rather obvious, isn't it?" Acheron met Miko's gaze and said it as though it were the most natural thing in the world.
"Really? I hadn't noticed, honestly."
Miko tilted her head, looking not entirely convinced by the answer.
She'd always thought her interactions with Kaito were perfectly ordinary — nothing particularly intimate had ever visibly passed between them.
"Perhaps that's simply what it looks like when you're too close to see it clearly."
Whether Acheron actually believed that or was just saying it, Miko found herself reflecting on the observation.
Too close to see it clearly, hm?
Well, whatever.

Things aren't the same as they were before!
Holding onto that thought, Miko spoke up: "Acheron — would you mind if I asked you something a little... personal?"
She felt a touch of shyness at the idea of just blurting out what had happened between her and Kaito the night before, so she decided to ask Acheron first — then use the opening to slip in her own confession.
"Something personal?" Acheron looked at her, and for once, seemed genuinely — if only faintly — surprised.
"Yes. Something personal." Under that look of surprise, Miko gave a firm, deliberate nod.
"Then go ahead and ask." Acheron considered it briefly before answering.
She had no idea what strange question Miko was about to produce, and naturally wasn't going to commit to anything outright — she'd see what it was first.
"It's just... you and Kaito... when you two are... you know, doing that... do you end up being really loud?"
Looking faintly flustered, Miko got the question out in halting, hesitant pieces.
And she wasn't only asking about Acheron. She was also, in the same breath, implying that she herself might have already done that with Kaito.
After all — she had used the word too.
Acheron: "..."
She had half-expected Miko to bring something like this up. But she hadn't expected her to be quite this blunt about it.
Is this kind of topic... normal between women?
Since she wasn't genuinely female herself, Acheron wasn't entirely sure whether this sort of conversation was considered perfectly acceptable between women or not.
But regardless — Miko had already asked, so she may as well answer.
"That... somewhat, I suppose." After a moment's thought, Acheron settled on a suitably noncommittal reply.
"So Kaito makes you put that kind of thing in your mouth too, does he?"
Is she referring to the ball, or...
Acheron visibly paused — genuinely caught off guard by the question Miko had just asked.
