"I'm leaving!"
"No. No, Gene... I swear I didn't know she was innocent," Kane moved towards his mate, but Genevieve stopped him.
"Would you have stopped if you knew?" Genevieve asked, staring at Kane as though she had never seen him before.
Maybe she had, but turned a blind eye every time. She never wanted to see her mate, alpha Kane of the Moonsglow Pack, as the murderer he was.
She was done making excuses for him. She was done pretending that everything was fine.
"I thought I had raised a man better than my mate! I was wrong," Genevieve said, getting up, from where she had fallen to her knees. I didn't know I was raising a monster who was way worse than his father," she walked towards Arya.
"Aria, you are a witch, right?"
Arya nodded in response.
"Can you take away someone's wolf?"
Before Arya could reply, Kane ran up to her. "Gene, please!"
He had tears running down his cheeks, and he seemed to regret every life decision he ever made.
