Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Different World

Inside a modest apartment, a teenage boy has been living. Suddenly, his door swings open. He steps outside casually, intending to visit a nearby convenience store. At the store, he picks up some snacks and drinks, then heads back on his way home. But an unforeseen event occurs—a car loses control and heads straight for him.

Despite feeling panic, he remains calm and quickly runs away. Fortunately, he avoids the vehicle, which crashes into a stone utility pole. He breathes a sigh of relief as he watches the wrecked car. Standing still, he observes the damaged vehicle as the driver steps out.

Unaware to him, that moment would be his last...

A baby is crying while the mother holds him. Their house, made of wood, appears dilapidated yet somehow still intact. Suddenly, a man enters the room—the mother calls him her husband.

The father looks at the baby and smiles. The mother and father embrace, both holding their child together. Days pass, and they raise their child with love and care. Despite their poverty, they prioritize their child's well-being. Even if they go hungry, as long as their child eats, they find happiness and contentment.

Three years later...

The mother tends to chores inside the house, while the baby plays with his toys. Suddenly...

"Huh?... What happened?"

He observes his surroundings.

"What is this place? Where am I?"

He looks at his hands.

"Huh? Why are my hands so small? Or am I small!?"

Suddenly, memories flood into his mind. He endures the pain from his head, but the rush of memories makes it bearable.

"I finally remember now."

He recalls that after narrowly avoiding the car, the pole it struck broke and fell toward him. Though he dodged it, it hit the car, causing it to explode.

"That's how I died... and now I've been reincarnated..."

"Fran~ It's time to eat. Come on."

"Is that my mother in this world?... What am I overthinking? I'm already dead and reincarnated. I should live my life here. This is my current life. I'll just enjoy it and face whatever challenges come as I grow."

He makes up his mind on how to live.

"Fran! The food's getting cold. Hurry!"

His mother calls him. He heads over, where his mother and father sit around a small table.

"Oh! You're finally here, Fran. Let's eat."

His father says.

"Yes! Let's eat together, Dad and Mom!"

He responds with a big smile, clearly happy. Even poverty couldn't ruin their joyful moments.

Night falls...

"I learned a lot yesterday. My father's name is Henry Rosenberg. My mother is Margaret Rosenberg. And my name is Francis Rosenberg, with the nickname Fran from Francis."

"It's obvious we're living in poverty. My mother stays home, taking care of chores and me. My father has a dangerous job—he works on a farm deep in the forest. His task is to protect the farm from dangerous animals. You might wonder why they built a farm in the woods—it's because there's a river nearby, making water access easier without transporting it from far away."

"They've fenced the farm and set traps throughout the forest to keep wild animals out."

Francis helps his mother while speaking in his mind.

Later, night falls.

"I'm home."

His father, Henry, returns from work.

"Welcome back, Husband. Good job. It's about time we eat."

His mother, Margaret, greets him.

"Welcome back, Dad. Let's eat together."

They gather around the table, enjoying their meal. The day passes peacefully, with no problems.
