The Great Eagle Federation, an industrial city in the east.
Around nine in the evening, 101 Bening Street, like a festering scar, sprawls deep within the run-down district.
Rainwater mixed with unidentified dirty liquids gathers into pools of dark brown on the uneven cement pavement.
The air is thick with a pungent blend — rotting garbage, cheap alcohol, the stench of urine, and a smell reminiscent of dead rats.
On either side of the street, abandoned shops have boarded windows, and in relatively "sheltered" corners and under eaves, lie the forgotten shells of this city.
Wrapped in blankets or cardboard that have long lost their original color, exuding strong body odors and musty smells, are various silhouettes.
Each one a hollow-eyed addict, shivering as they hug their knees.
They pile all their possessions beside a handcart — disheveled homeless people, and some idle black men whose eyes rove the street corners.
