Upon hearing Fiona Ford say this, Mr. Ford didn't insist any further. He continued talking with them, happily offering a toast to Fiona Ford's boyfriend with tea instead of wine.
The man was quite open-hearted and unknowingly drank a lot.
By the end, holding his wine glass, he stood up and once again promised Mr. Ford that he would be good to Fiona Ford.
As soon as the wine touched his lips, he suddenly collapsed.
It was because he drank too much and got drunk.
Fiona Ford hurriedly squatted down and shook the man.
The man lay there making some noises, calling out Fiona Ford's name.
"I'm sorry, he drank too much."
Fiona Ford squatted down to support him. The drunk man was very heavy, and Fiona Ford couldn't lift him at all.
Mr. Ford felt a bit embarrassed seeing the man he had gotten drunk, and watching Fiona Ford struggling to move the drunk man, he looked again at Mrs. Ford.
"Why not let them stay in the guest room?"
"Looking at him, there's no way he can go back."
