Chapter 441: We Are Fairy Tail!
"Dorma Anim's Black Sky form is a special armor that multiplies magic output several times over! How could it possibly take damage?!" the King roared in sheer fury.
"It definitely got a lot stronger. For a magical tool to reach this level is truly impressive. It took quite a bit of effort for me to crack it," Noah nodded in agreement.
But hearing Noah's words only infuriated the King even more.
Because although Noah acknowledged the Dragon Knight's power, his expression remained perfectly calm. He only showed a look of intrigued curiosity when examining the mecha, completely devoid of the panic and absolute terror the King had expected to see.
"You despicable brat! I need more! More magic power! Skies, earth! Gather all the magic to Dorma Anim!"
The King bellowed, pushing the Dragon Knight's performance to its absolute limit. The cannon inside its maw fired continuously at Noah. The magic flowing into the Dragon Knight grew so massive that the very atmosphere began to violently vibrate.
A golden magic circle expanded in front of Noah, blocking the incoming magical bombardment.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The Dragon Knight fired over a dozen magical blasts in rapid succession, all of which were effortlessly blocked by Noah.
"What a waste," Noah shook his head, seeing that the King had no intention of stopping.
Stomping hard on the ground, he propelled himself forward while maintaining the magic circle. He leaped right up to the Dragon Knight's face and delivered a vicious kick straight to its chin.
Bang!
The Dragon Knight's head was knocked violently upward, causing its freshly fired magical blast to shoot harmlessly into the sky.
Mid-air, Noah swiftly closed the distance to the mecha's chest and delivered a devastating palm strike.
The Dragon Knight was launched off the ground, flying dozens of meters away before crashing heavily back down.
Boom!
The impact of the Dragon Knight hitting the ground caused the surrounding earth to tremble violently.
"Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!" The King's voice was filled with exasperation as the Dragon Knight adjusted its posture and scrambled back to its feet.
"Sigh. The rest of this country has absolutely no magic left to use, yet here you are, squandering it all in one place," Noah shook his head and sighed.
"It is only natural for a King to collect taxes from his citizens! This Dorma Anim is an ultimate magical weapon that continuously absorbs the magic of this world! Therefore, it is also a forbidden weapon! Since I have activated it, I have a duty to win! For the sake of this world!" the King retorted without a shred of hesitation.
"For the sake of this world? You selfishly rob your own people of their magic, and you even intended to sacrifice the lives of Earth Land just to fuel your power. And now you actually have the nerve to say something like that? Don't you think you are going a little too far?" Noah laughed out of sheer anger.
"Hmph! Becoming our magic power is an honor for you!" the King declared remorselessly.
Hearing this, Noah could only shake his head. This King had completely lost his mind.
"Can you really not see the gap in our strength? You cannot defeat me."
"Even a mage with boundless magic power will eventually run out, and once that happens, you won't be able to recover immediately, will you? You will inevitably reach exhaustion, but I will not! Dorma Anim is fueled by the magic of an entire world; it can fight on indefinitely!" the King laughed maniacally, and the Dragon Knight fired another blast straight at Noah.
"Oh, so that is what you are thinking?" Noah shook his head. "Indeed, if you were dealing with a normal mage, your logic would be flawless. Even against me, that method could theoretically work. Unfortunately, it requires one crucial prerequisite."
"What prerequisite?" the King could not help but ask.
"The prerequisite is that your attacks must be powerful enough to force my magic consumption to exceed my recovery rate. Otherwise, I am afraid you are going to have a very hard time trying to exhaust me."
"I don't believe you!" the King immediately shot back.
Even though Noah had acted completely relaxed and at ease this entire time, the King firmly believed that a mere human could never outlast the Dragon Knight.
The Dragon Knight was the strongest weapon in their nation, a forbidden mecha sealed away because of its catastrophic power. How could a mere mage possibly compare to it? Even if Noah seemed relaxed now, the King remained convinced it was only temporary.
The King piloted the Dragon Knight, launching yet another assault on Noah.
Noah raised his hand, casually blocking the incoming magical blast.
It seemed that even when he told the truth, the enemy refused to believe it. Noah didn't feel like wasting any more breath. He decided to play along a bit longer to gather enough structural data, and then he would completely dismantle this thing.
Just as he thought this, Noah noticed something and turned his gaze toward the distance.
"Not bad! As expected of Fairy Tail! Even in a different world, they share the exact same spirit!"
"Sigh, this is not as easy as before," Sorano sighed as she commanded her Herculean Angel to blow away several Royal Army soldiers in front of her.
"Isn't that obvious? We had Noah's Enchantment Magic supporting us earlier. Our condition was exceptionally good, and our strength was multiplied several times over. Of course it was easier then. Now that Noah's buff has worn off, it is naturally much harder to fight," Mirajane said with a smile, raising her hand to blast away a soldier who was aiming a magic staff at her.
"Not only that, but the enemy has also gained a lot of reinforcements. It obviously makes things more troublesome," Ultear noted, glancing at the massive Legions accompanying the Royal Army soldiers after freezing a group of enemies nearby.
"I know that! I was just complaining a little," Sorano sighed.
"Um, I am not as strong as Noah, so I am really sorry I cannot be of more help!" Wendy apologized profusely from the sidelines.
"You don't need to apologize for that! You have already worked so hard, you don't need to push yourself," Sorano quickly reassured Wendy.
Wendy had cast support enchantments on everyone earlier, but the effects and duration couldn't match Noah's. After considering the situation, the group told her to stop buffing them and save her magic for her own battles. After all, a large-scale battle like this was rare; participating in combat rather than just playing support would be far more beneficial for Wendy's growth.
"Mhm, understood," Wendy nodded. Her fists wrapped in swirling gales as she punched a Royal Army soldier away.
"It cannot be helped. Because my next move requires a massive amount of magic, I cannot spare the energy to cast enchantments on you all. My main body is currently fighting the Dragon Knight, but the vast majority of his magic is actually being channeled to my other Thought Projection. Meanwhile, I need to stay here and maintain the teleportation magic to move the defeated soldiers away," Noah's Thought Projection explained from the side.
"Speaking of which, what kind of plan do you have that requires you to use so much magic?" Sorano asked curiously.
"It should be quite a grand spectacle. You can look forward to it," Noah's Thought Projection replied.
"Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!"
"Ice-Make: Lance!"
Nearby, Natsu and Gray were relentlessly casting magic, bombarding the surrounding Royal Army soldiers.
"I cannot fall behind either! Heaven's Wheel: Blumenblatt!" Erza launched her attack with a fiercely serious expression, sending countless swords raining down on the enemy troops.
"They sure are full of energy!" Sorano remarked, highly impressed by Erza and the others' boundless stamina.
"I cannot let Erza outdo me! Dark Spark!" Seeing Erza fight so seriously, Mirajane also ramped up her output, launching another devastating attack on the surrounding soldiers.
"Lightning Strike!" Laxus didn't say a word, silently and continuously unleashing his magic. Countless bolts of lightning struck the surrounding soldiers with pinpoint accuracy. The moment a soldier was hit, they collapsed instantly, only to be immediately teleported away by Noah's Thought Projection.
"How much longer do we have to fight?" Lucy asked, wiping the sweat from her forehead after whipping several soldiers away with her radiant, glowing whip.
"It shouldn't be too much longer. Lucy, why does your whip look different? I don't remember it being this glowing and beautiful before?" Meredy asked curiously, looking at the whip in Lucy's hand after firing consecutive energy beams from her hands to knock down several enemies.
"You mean this? Virgo gave it to me. It is an extendable whip from the Celestial Spirit World, the Fleuve d'étoiles. It can extend and retract freely, and it consumes very little magic power, so it suits me perfectly," Lucy held up her whip and explained with a smile.
"That is amazing!" Meredy exclaimed in surprise.
"Of course! I definitely will not let my Celestial Spirits' feelings down!" Lucy said with absolute determination.
Her magic reserves were not exceptionally large, and continuously summoning Celestial Spirits would drain her quickly. This whip perfectly compensated for her combat capabilities when she wasn't actively summoning. Its ability to extend freely, coupled with its near-unbreakable durability, made it vastly superior to her old whip.
"Phew... phew..." Meredy smiled at Lucy, then wiped the sweat from her brow, her breathing growing ragged.
She had been continuously casting magic on the floating island earlier, and now she was engaged in intense combat. Her physical stamina and magic power were severely depleted, and she was already struggling to keep up.
Bang!
A magic blast shot toward Meredy. Unable to react in time, she was about to be hit when Ultear conjured an ice wall beside her, completely blocking the attack.
"If you are tired, go rest for a bit near Noah," Ultear pointed toward Noah's Thought Projection. Several glowing orbs floated around him, firing beams of light that effortlessly blew away any Royal Army soldiers trying to get close.
"Okay," Meredy nodded. She knew she wasn't in great shape and needed to rest before she could continue fighting.
She glanced at Wendy, who was still fighting energetically. Thanks to her Dragon Slayer Magic, Wendy's physical constitution was far superior to Meredy's, allowing her to keep going.
Ultear watched Meredy retreat to Noah's side to be protected by the light orbs, then scanned the battlefield.
Everyone was showing varying degrees of fatigue. Without Noah's enchantments, their recovery rates were back to normal. And since they had only rested for a brief moment earlier without fully recovering, fighting against such a massive army naturally made them more and more exhausted as the battle dragged on.
"I really wish someone would come help us! Then we wouldn't have to be so tired," Sorano said hopefully, clearly aware of their current predicament.
"Some people might actually show up, though I am not sure if they will," Ultear replied.
Just as she finished speaking, a small sapling burst out of the ground a short distance ahead of them, sprouting several branches.
These branches grew rapidly, extending outward to tightly entangle the necks of several nearby Legions.
"Wh-What is this?!"
"The trees... they are acting like living creatures!"
The surrounding Royal Army soldiers jumped in fright at the sight.
The base of the branches rapidly expanded, transforming into a massive treehouse.
"Oh, they actually came. How wonderful!" Ultear said with a smile.
The other Earth Land Fairy Tail members who saw this also broke into smiles, immediately knowing exactly who had just arrived.
"C-Could it be..."
"Are they those guys who always run away..."
"Is it Fairy Tail?!" the Royal Army soldiers cried out in panic.
The massive doors of the treehouse burst open, and a large group of people charged out.
"Chargeee!"
"Yeahhh!"
"We cannot run away forever!"
"Let us show you the power of our comrades' bonds!"
"Charge!"
"Take down the Royal Army!"
Led by Edolas Lucy, followed closely by Edolas Levy, Edolas Gray, Edolas Juvia, and the rest of the guild, the Edolas mages charged fearlessly into the Royal Army.
"Sorry we are late, Earth Land Lucy," Edolas Lucy said as she approached her counterpart.
"No, you are right on time! Edolas Lucy," Lucy looked at her Edolas counterpart with absolute pleasant surprise.
"The Fairy Tail of Earth Land is fighting so hard... We have to stand up and fight the enemy too," Edolas Natsu said, his body trembling slightly as he held up his weapon.
"The future of our world must be forged with our own hands! How can we just rely on others to do it for us?! Besides, we were hurt, so how could we not get our revenge?! We are Fairy Tail!" Edolas Lucy declared fiercely.
"Well said! We are Fairy Tail!" Lucy enthusiastically agreed.
"That's right! We are Fairy Tail!" the other members of the Earth Land Fairy Tail echoed in unison.
The moment those words left their lips, they felt an immense surge of spirit. It was as if their stamina and magic had suddenly replenished, and their fatigue had been washed away.
At that very moment, the guild marks on their bodies began to emit a faint, warm glow.
"Let us crush the Royal Army!"
"Yeahhhh!!!" the Edolas Fairy Tail members roared in agreement.
"We cannot let them show us up," Ultear said with a smile.
"Isn't that obvious?" Sorano grinned in sheer excitement.
"Oh yeah! I am all fired up!" Natsu roared in pure hype, blazing flames erupting all over his body.
"Let's give it our all together, Edolas Lucy!" Lucy looked at her counterpart and spoke with absolute resolve.
"Right! Let's do this together!" Edolas Lucy nodded firmly.
The two Lucys immediately charged side-by-side into the Royal Army.
"We have to earn more credit than Lucy!" Edolas Levy shouted loudly to Edolas Jet and Edolas Droy.
"Right! Because we are the strongest—"
"Shadow Gear!" Edolas Jet and Edolas Droy shouted at the top of their lungs.
