Though everyone knew she was joking, Nancy and Deewa both felt a flutter of hope, wishing she really meant it.

"Honey, would it be okay if we got a dog?"
Lily asked softly, enjoying her husband's affection.
"Sure, our yard is big enough. We could get a guard dog later."
Luis readily agreed.

Now, she'd even contacted a pet store near the community and paid 200 dollars per cat to have the stray cats neutered.
