Luis held her considerately and said softly, "What I have with you isn't just about sex. We still have a long time ahead of us."
Upon hearing this, Eloise smiled with great tenderness and charm, then directed the driver to first stop in front of a shop in the small town. After getting out, she greeted the shopkeeper very familiarly and picked up a small foam box.
"What's that?"
Luis asked curiously.
"Wild soft-shelled turtle. Today, a village up in the mountains butchered a free-range pig, so I got the heart and ribs to make a nourishing soup for Lily."
After returning to the villa, she slept that night in her mother-in-law's room.
Her earlier refusal had not been a coy playing hard to get, nor any kind of hint. It was a genuine expression of her trust.
Luis did not launch a nighttime raid, mainly because he knew that after that one time, there would inevitably be some awkwardness between the two biological sisters.
