"This is an incredible level. Is it all made of gallium metal?"
Yang Tao brought Eric to Level 75, the Gallium Caverns, as their first destination.
"It should be!"
Yang Tao looked at the ceiling, which was completely submerged by orange gallium blocks, and felt as if he could be sent away at any moment.
Fortunately, this level had no level consciousness or level master.
"The Gallium Caverns constantly shift between solid and liquid states over time; this has already been introduced in the information database."
Eric nodded slightly, took out a camera from his backpack, and meticulously took photos.
"Due to the environment, humans cannot stay here for too long. The safe time is only about 4 hours. Exceeding this time will lead to signs of metal poisoning, which will continuously worsen over time."
While converting the liquid gallium extracted by the industrial pump into energy points, Yang Tao introduced Eric to the situation of Level 75.
"To leave, you just need to find an orange gallium block."
Saying this, Yang Tao pointed to the dense orange gallium blocks on the ceiling.
"The melting point of these orange gallium blocks should be much higher than ordinary gallium. They won't melt when other gallium melts. If you're lucky, you might encounter some exposed orange gallium blocks when the cave moves. Holding it in your hand will teleport you to Level 16: Terrain Transformation, or perhaps the Asylum…"
Eric made notes while observing his surroundings. Yang Tao quickly converted all the liquid gallium he had collected during this time into energy points.
Then he quietly waited for Eric to finish recording.
"Let's go to Level 16 next. It's currently undergoing level fusion, and I don't know what the situation is like there now."
Eric nodded and followed Yang Tao, walking out of the wooden door transfer point and arriving at Level 16.
Upon arriving at Level 16: Asylum, Eric keenly sensed that his mind was being affected and said, "Yang, does this level have a mental influence?"
Yang Tao heard this and laughed, "I'm immune to any mental influence… so I don't know if there's any mental influence."
"Alright, never mind. I do feel a slight mental influence, but it's very weak. However, staying here for a long time should have an effect."
Eric professionally took out his notebook, opened a new page, and wrote on it with a pen. He also took out his camera and aimed it at the asylum corridor, taking some photos.
"The walls here… seem to be changing…"
"That's right, the walls here undergo various changes. Sometimes it's the colour, and sometimes patterns appear."
Yang Tao had noticed this problem the last time he came. The two walked forward while chatting. To help Eric better record the information of this level, Yang Tao basically scrutinized everything in the corridor.
"Eric, Faceling!"
As soon as the door opened, an adult Faceling in a patient gown ambushed him, but Yang Tao calmly reached out and grabbed its neck.
"The adult Facelings in this level are hostile towards other Entities."
Eric quickly took a close-up photo of the Faceling with his camera. Seeing this, Yang Tao applied a little force, and the Faceling's health bar was emptied, then he converted it into energy points.
"There are many Facelings here, as well as some Flesh Clusters and Smiling Wraiths. The other Smiling Wraith that accompanies Frowny was brought back from here."
Just as Yang Tao was explaining to Eric, a sudden sense of weightlessness came over them. The gravity in the corridor they were in instantly reversed, and their bodies immediately fell towards the ceiling.
However, Yang Tao stabilized his body in an instant, while Eric easily landed on the ceiling and kicked away a locker that was about to hit him.
Eric, having used the Character Creation Book and Kunai, was now a small Superman. His physical prowess alone was enough to make some common 'Entities' tuck their tails between their legs.
The only trouble was the mental influence.
Eric looked at the completely inverted corridor, excitement showing in his eyes: "Gravity reversal, this information is very important. Wanderers walking in Level 16 should avoid heavy objects as much as possible to prevent being hit when gravity reverses."
Looking at Eric, who was engrossed in writing, Yang Tao felt that in a hundred years, Eric's notebook would likely become a 'legendary' item, perhaps even gaining the Backrooms' recognition and becoming a piece of 'equipment'.
Similar to the Bottle of Lightning or the Scaraback, 'equipment' with special attributes.
'Eric's Legendary Notebook'
Yang Tao smiled, shook his head, and cast this thought out of his mind, saying, "Eric, let's go. Let's see what the situation is like ahead."
The two wandered around the asylum, encountering quite a few Entities and experiencing some peculiar situations during their journey.
Until they arrived in the hospital lobby.
Eric took out a bottle of Almond water from his storage bag and drank it. As time passed, the mental influence of the asylum did not deepen for him. Instead, after drinking enough Almond water, he felt gradually accustomed to the influence here.
It was quite magical.
Yang Tao stood in the lobby, looking through the glass door at the scenery outside the asylum, and asked, "Eric, do you want to go outside and take a look?"
Outside was another Level 16 Terrain Transformation. What was originally a rainforest environment had now turned into an endless ice sheet.
Eric nodded slightly and smiled, "Since we're already here."
The two pushed open the glass door and walked out of the asylum. Nothing unusual happened; the only problem was the sudden drop in temperature.
Even though it was just separated by an ordinary glass door, the temperature difference was at least several tens of degrees.
Eric shivered, but his powerful physical fitness quickly allowed him to adapt.
He first reached into his storage bag and took out a windbreaker, putting it on, then took out a thermometer. Yang Tao saw this and laughed, "Eric, what kind of random stuff do you have in your storage bag?"
"Uh… some food supplies and weapons, also a notebook and pen, some electronic devices and medicines, matches, lighters, a compass, a flashlight, an oil lamp…"
Yang Tao: "..."
Eric's storage bag was like a bottomless pit; the things inside could allow him to live comfortably in the Amazon jungle for a period of time.
A biting cold wind howled by, carrying some ice crystals and snowflakes.
The two were not affected, but for ordinary people, this cold wind would feel like tiny knives cutting into their skin.
"Minus 17 degrees…"
Eric glanced at the reading on the thermometer, preparing to write it down. Ordinary markers couldn't be used in this temperature, so he had to take out his trusty pencil.
Looking at the not-so-steep glacier, Yang Tao directly synthesized a wooden boat from wooden boards in his backpack and placed it on the ice.
"Get on, I'll take you for a ride and show you what speed and passion are all about!"
