The world continued moving forward in peace and quiet happiness.
But while countless others continued living beneath those ordinary and happy days without noticing anything at all…
For some people...
The day of departure had already arrived quietly beneath the dawn.
At the highest modern tower in the Land of Snow, Obito stood alone inside a silent room, his eyes fixed on the sky reflected across the glass windows.
Clang.
The sound of the door opening quietly echoed through the room, drawing Obito's attention away.
The only people who could enter his room without knocking were those closest to him.
Soft footsteps echoed quietly across the floor.
A figure stepped into the room calmly.
Short blue hair swayed lightly beside amber eyes, while a delicate flower rested gently in her hair. The white dress she wore only made her quiet beauty stand out even more.
It was none other than Konan.
Folded neatly in her arms was a familiar modern battle outfit — the same white haori and loose hakama-style pants Gojo Satoru had worn during his battle against Sukuna, with the black high-collar inner shirt and dark scarf completing the sharp monochrome contrast.
"…Set it down over there."
Obito spoke casually while glancing sideways at Konan.
His crescent-shaped eyes lingered on her for a brief moment.
She looked strangely calm today.
"Let me do this much for you."
Konan's voice remained soft and calm.
"After all… I was the one who personally adjusted and tailored it exactly as you asked."
Her fingers tightened around the folded clothes in her arms.
"You wouldn't take that right away from me too… would you?"
The final words came out quieter than the rest.
Then, without waiting for an answer, Konan walked straight toward him.
She stopped directly in front of Obito.
Close enough for the pale morning light from the windows to fall across both of them at once.
Yet even standing that close…
She still kept her eyelids lowered, avoiding his gaze entirely.
Then slowly… Konan raised her hands toward him.
Her fingers moved carefully, almost gently, as she began undoing the buttons of his clothes one by one.
"...Alright."
Obito Uchiha did not stop her.
He simply stood there quietly, allowing her hands to continue while his eyes watched her every movement with calm intensity.
Konan's fingers moved slowly across his clothes, careful and precise as she undid each button one after another, almost as though she were afraid even the smallest roughness might disturb this fragile moment.
Throughout the entire time, Konan remained calm.
Her expression never changed.
Yet her half-lidded amber eyes still never once met his.
"Konan."
"Yes."
"…Look at me."
Obito Uchiha's voice was quiet.
Gentle enough that the moment it reached her ears, Konan's fingers trembled slightly while adjusting his clothes.
It lasted for only an instant.
Then she quickly steadied herself again and continued fixing the collar carefully as though nothing had happened.
"Don't interrupt me… can't you see I'm trying to focus here?"
Konan spoke in an unusually serious tone.
Then, after a small pause, she let out a faint sigh.
"Honestly… sometimes…"
"Konan."
Obito called her name once again in that same quiet tone.
"You… can you stop being selfish for once?"
Konan tried to maintain the slightly annoyed seriousness in her voice.
"Can't you see…? Can't you see…"
But before she could finish, her voice faltered weakly.
The words trembled apart before they could fully leave her lips.
Obito raised his hand, his fingers gently touched her chin before carefully lifting it upward.
For the first time since entering the room... her amber eyes finally met his.
For a moment, neither of them spoke.
Konan and Obito simply looked at each other in silence while the pale dawn light quietly filled the room around them.
And just as expected...
Konan could no longer maintain the calm front she had forced herself to wear until now.
The amber eyes that had seemed so composed earlier were now trembling faintly with tears.
Even then, she still lowered her head again and bit lightly against her lip as though trying desperately to hold herself together.
"Couldn't you…"
Her voice came out weakly.
"…let me send you off with a smile?"
A faint tremor ran through her shoulders.
"Do you know how hard I tried to calm myself…?"
She laughed softly at herself, but the sound carried no amusement at all.
"Telling myself everything would be alright… that nothing would happen…"
"But even then… I still didn't want you worrying about me… I wanted you to leave with my smile in your memory… not this."
"Was I really wrong for that…?"
"I just wanted…"
Obito looked at her silently for several long moments before slowly pulling her into his arms.
One hand pressed gently against the back of Konan's head while he closed his eyes quietly, holding her against him without saying a single word aloud.
It wasn't just her.
He was feeling the same thing.
Perhaps even more deeply than she realized.
But even so...
Don't make this harder for me, Konan…
Those words never left his lips.
Obito could only whisper them inwardly.
Because at this moment… he could not allow himself to show even the slightest hint of weakness.
"Come back in one piece."
Konan's fingers tightened slightly against him as though she were afraid he might disappear the moment she let go.
"Promise me, Obito… no matter what you must do…"
"Even… even if it's for—"
The words stopped abruptly.
Konan's eyes widened faintly as though she had suddenly snapped back to her senses.
The emotions she had been holding down for so long had nearly carried those words out of her mouth without thought.
And the moment she realized what she had almost said—
She bit her lip quietly and forced herself to stop.
If those words were truly spoken aloud now…
Then they would become a burden that Obito Uchiha would carry with him no matter where he went.
And just as Obito Uchiha could understand the fears and worries hidden inside her heart…
Konan could also feel the composure he was forcing himself to maintain for her sake.
She understood him better than most people ever could.
She knew he had to remain strong.
At this point, he no longer had the luxury of showing weakness.
Because once he stepped forward from this moment onward… he would have to continue walking while carrying everything alone.
Obito remained silent for a long while.
He did not answer her words immediately, almost as though he had never heard them at all.
Then after some time...
Konan slowly loosened her hold on him and stepped back, relief quietly filling her heart when she realized Obito might not have noticed or understood the meaning behind her final words.
Her amber eyes slowly lifted toward him once more.
Now fully dressed, the monochrome outfit rested naturally against him, the white haori contrasting sharply against the dark inner collar and scarf made him look exceptionally handsome.
And seeing him like that—a small smile finally bloomed across Konan's face.
Beautiful enough to momentarily wash away the sadness lingering in the room.
"That suits you even better than I expected…"
"It was worth all the effort I put into making it."
Obito looked genuinely stunned, his eyes reflected her smile silently while the morning light scattered across her blue hair and flower ornament.
Before he realized it… his thoughts drifted back to years ago.
A thought surfaced in his mind that almost made him laugh at himself.
Obito… you really deserve a good beating.
Remembering everything he had put her through over the years…
Honestly, being hated by her would have made far more sense.
Yet somehow...
She was still standing here seeing him off.
A faint chuckle escaped him under his breath, however the next instant, he forcibly pushed those impossible thoughts aside.
There was still something he needed to say.
"Don't worry."
His voice regained its usual calm confidence.
"When have I ever lost?"
The corner of his lips curved upward slightly.
"Don't forget…"
A familiar arrogance finally returned to his eyes.
"I'm Obito Uchiha."
With that, he turned to leave.
He drew in a slow breath, ready to take the first step forward.
But his feet would not move.
Why…?
Just go ahead!
You already said your goodbyes.
So why?
Why can't you move forward, Obito?
As though his body had begun moving on its own, Obito slowly turned back around and walked toward Konan.
She did her best to keep the smile on her face from breaking apart.
"W-Was there… something else you wanted to say?"
Her voice trembled despite her efforts to hide it.
"Don't keep the others waiting, you know… They're… they aren't doing well either… so… so…"
Before she could finish, Obito quietly reached out and placed his hand against her stomach.
Konan's body stiffened.
Then her head slowly lowered as the tears she had been desperately holding back finally spilled free without restraint.
Drip…
Drip…
'Ahh… I see now…'
'So that was the reason…'
'There was still one goodbye I hadn't given yet…'
'Still someone… waiting for me to come back.'
Obito clenched his teeth tightly for a moment before slowly letting out a long breath.
Then, little by little, a soft and gentle smile appeared across his face.
He had never noticed...
No, he had noticed.
But like the coward he was, he hadn't been willing to acknowledge it.
The reason wasn't because he didn't care, but because he was afraid... afraid that he would hesitate.
"Obito… forgive me… I…"
Seeing the expression on his face, Konan only felt even worse. Instead of giving him the support he needed, she had only given him another burden to worry about.
"Haah... Konan, you seem to have misunderstood something."
Seeing the bewildered expression on her face, Obito chuckled and spoke in a matter-of-fact tone filled with confidence.
"You don't have to feel sorry. After all... you did give me another reason to come back in one piece, didn't you?"
"So thank you... Konan."
Obito leaned down and kissed her forehead, then rested his head gently against her stomach, quietly feeling the tiny life connected to them both.
Then he smiled and closed his eyes.
Konan stood there silently, her eyes wide and her hands hanging at her sides, until Obito straightened up again, his expression and gaze turning serious once more.
"Take care of yourself for me... and for our child."
"After all, I don't think I'd be... uh... any good at raising children..."
After saying those words, Obito awkwardly turned toward the door. Even he felt embarrassed by the way he had acted.
He reached the door, and just as he stepped outside...
Konan's voice came from behind him, carrying a teasing warmth this time, though the relief in her tone was impossible to hide.
"I think you'd make a fine father, Obito."
Obito didn't look back.
He only smiled faintly as he walked away, leaving behind Konan, who slowly placed a hand over her stomach, her blushing face mixed with sadness that he wouldn't be here.
'He looked so happy...'
...
As Obito walked through the silent corridor of the tower, the faint sound of his footsteps echoed softly against the polished floor beneath.
The entire place felt unusually quiet.
Almost as though everyone understood what this day meant.
Tap.
A figure suddenly stepped into his path from around the corner.
Long purple hair swayed lightly behind her while the familiar sword resting at her waist reflected the dim morning light.
Yugao Uzuki stood there silently with her arms crossed.
Her eyes stared directly at him and suddenly stepped forward without warning, grabbed the front of his collar, and pulled him downward slightly before pressing her lips firmly against his.
The kiss only lasted a few seconds but it carried far more emotion than words could have expressed.
When she finally pulled away, Yugao kept her forehead lightly against his chest while taking a slow breath.
"…Don't make us wait too long, idiot."
"And Master~ don't forget… you still owe me something."
Her tone suddenly shifted as she called him by the familiar title she only used during their quieter moments together.
Yugao Uzuki looked up at him with a teasing smile tugging at the corner of her lips.
"Next time… I want my belly big too~"
Obito raised an eyebrow slightly, looking genuinely impressed for a moment before the corner of his lips curved upward faintly.
Then, answering her in the exact playful tone she clearly wanted from him, he leaned down slightly and spoke calmly.
"Don't worry."
"As your Master… I'll definitely do my best."
He raised his hand and rubbed the top of Yugao Uzuki's head lazily before replying in the same completely serious tone she had used.
"If I use my time ability properly…"
"It should be possible to get you pregnant within three days."
Yugao's teasing smile froze instantly.
A visible chill ran down her spine straight to her lower body.
Her legs nearly gave out on the spot imagining whatever horrifying "three days" Obito was talking about.
The corner of her mouth twitched violently.
"…U-Uhh…"
"I-I think I can wait, Master."
Seeing Yugao immediately chicken out, Obito finally let out a low chuckle.
The sound instantly made Yugao realize how badly she had just embarrassed herself.
She was the one who started flirting first and now she was already retreating.
A faint blush quickly spread across her face.
"Ahem…"
Yugao looked away awkwardly before forcing herself to straighten up again.
Then, trying to salvage what little dignity she had left, she spoke bravely once more.
"U-Uhh… I mean…"
"It's not like I can't agree once you come back…"
The moment those words left her mouth, she noticed the smile forming on Obito's face and instantly understood.
'I got tricked.'
Sure enough...
Obito's amused voice followed immediately afterward.
"I'll remember that offer then, Yugao-chan~"
His eyes curved slightly with dangerous amusement.
"Three days it is."
Yugao's eyes widened instantly.
"W-Wait…"
"Wait, hold on—!"
"Hahaha..."
But Obito had already turned around laughing under his breath as he continued walking down the corridor with cheerful steps.
Leaving Yugao standing there completely frozen.
Sweat slowly formed near her temple as she imagined the terrifying amount of breeding she would probably go through in the future.
…Yet part of her was genuinely excited in anticipation.
...
As though this had all been planned long ago, another familiar figure was already waiting farther ahead along the tower corridor.
She stood quietly beside the wide glass windows overlooking the awakening city below.
Soft morning light reflected gently across her long reddish-orange hair, while the sleeveless outfit she wore exposed the toned arms of a warrior who had survived countless battlefields.
Pakura stood there quietly with her hands behind her back, her eyes slightly absent-minded.
The moment she noticed Obito approaching, Pakura stepped forward without hesitation and firmly smacked a hand against his back.
Thump.
The force behind it was strong enough that only someone like her could call it a "pat."
"You fulfilled my dream."
Pakura's voice carried its usual confidence, her eyes met his without wavering even slightly.
"So don't you dare fail yours."
Back then, Pakura had been nothing more than a discarded weapon abandoned by her own village.
A shinobi sacrificed for politics and forgotten by the world.
Yet now, the world she once could never even imagine was spread out beneath the tower windows behind them.
Peace.
Warmth.
A future.
And somewhere inside that future...
Pakura herself finally existed as a person instead of a tool.
Obito squinted his eyes playfully before reaching up and lightly knocking his fist against her shoulder.
"Hah…"
"When did you start sounding wiser than me?"
Pakura snorted softly.
"Since someone around here started trying to carry the whole world by himself."
Her expression softened at the mention of that.
Before Obito could react, Pakura stepped forward and wrapped her arms around him firmly.
Unlike the restrained emotions of the others, Pakura's embrace felt steady.
As though she truly believed there was nothing to fear.
Obito's eyes reflected her calm face before he slowly wrapped his arms around her, returning the embrace just as tightly.
Pakura rested her chin lightly against his shoulder and spoke quietly.
"I'm not going to say something depressing like 'what if you don't come back.'"
She pulled back slightly afterward and looked directly into his eyes.
"Because I know you will."
A confident smile slowly appeared on her face.
"No matter what happens…"
"I can trust you on that, right?"
Obito smiled back at her with the same familiar arrogance that had always made impossible things feel believable.
"When have I ever broken a promise?"
His crescent-shaped eyes narrowed slightly.
"No matter where I end up…"
"No matter what stands in front of me…"
"I'll prevail."
The confidence in his voice carried no hesitation whatsoever.
Hearing those words—Pakura smiled softly before leaning forward and pressing a gentle kiss against his lips.
After breaking the kiss, Obito noticed Pakura was still holding him tightly with no intention of letting go.
A faint teasing smile touched his lips.
"How long are you planning to hold me like this?"
He glanced down the corridor, half amused and half helpless.
"It feels like someone planned all of this in advance. Just how many more of you are actually waiting for me?"
"Heh… that's something you'll have to figure out yourself."
Pakura shot back immediately.
"It's not our fault someone kept hiding everything all this time and was planning to leave without even saying a word."
She slowly loosened the hug before playfully slapping his back.
"Now go."
"Don't keep the others waiting."
"You girls really are a handful…" Obito sighed helplessly before raising a hand and waving it behind him without turning back.
"See you later then, Pakura!"
Pakura smiled brightly behind him and crossed her arms.
"Well, obviously you will!"
...
As expected, another familiar figure was already waiting farther ahead—practically bush camping him at this point.
Her long reddish-brown hair swayed gently, while the elegant blue dress hugging her figure fluttered lightly in the breeze drifting through the half-open window.
Terumi Mei.
The moment her eyes landed on Obito, a teasing smile immediately curved across her lips.
"My, my… finally finished with the others?"
Her tone carried its usual playful warmth.
Obito instantly narrowed his eyes.
"…Why do I suddenly feel like this hallway turned into some kind of ambush?"
Mei covered her mouth softly while laughing.
"Well, whose fault is that exactly?"
She stepped closer without hesitation, her heels clicking lightly against the polished floor.
Then, just like Yugao earlier, Mei suddenly leaned close enough for her breath to brush against his ear.
"You better make things equal once you come back…"
Her voice lowered mischievously.
"And don't forget to visit often either."
Obito raised an eyebrow slightly, before he could even respond–Mei smiled beautifully and added the next words without the slightest shame.
"After all…"
"I want a child too."
"…Hah?"
For once, Obito Uchiha genuinely looked stunned.
His eyes widened slightly as though his brain had momentarily stopped processing properly.
A headache began forming.
How many of them knew already?
More importantly—why did it suddenly feel like his future peaceful life was rapidly turning into nothing but raising children nonstop?
Obito could already imagine himself finally returning after surviving countless battles only to immediately get dragged away by several women arguing over "whose turn" it was.
Just imagining it made his head hurt.
Seeing the complicated expression forming on his face, Mei could no longer hold back her laughter.
A soft amused sound escaped her lips before she stepped forward and gently kissed his cheek.
"Mmm~"
Then she lightly patted him forward playfully.
"Go on already."
"Don't keep everyone else waiting too long."
Her smile turned slightly dangerous afterward.
"Otherwise they might start getting jealous later."
Mei placed a finger thoughtfully against her lips.
"I'm sure some of them will eventually compare who got to spend the most time with you before you left…"
A mischievous glint appeared in her eyes.
"As expected, the battle for first place is already decided though."
She winked knowingly.
The implication behind those words instantly made Obito feel slightly awkward.
Konan was absolutely winning that competition without question.
Seeing his rare reaction, Mei's smile only widened further in satisfaction.
Obito could only sigh helplessly before suddenly grabbing both of her cheeks and pinching them firmly.
Mei's face instantly puffed up, looking both cute and ridiculous at the same time.
Only after her cheeks turned slightly red did Obito finally let go before calmly continuing forward.
"…You women are terrifying sometimes."
"Ara~ a little late for regrets now, don't you think, Obito-sama~? After all… this future is something you created yourself."
