Kagerou stared at the panel for a while. He was so focused that he completely forgot about the messenger in front of him who was waiting for a response
"Umm, Young Master?" asked the messenger hesitantly. Despite being looked down on by the elders of the clan, Kagerou was a special jounin after all, while the messenger was a young chuunin, so he of course showed respect to Kagerou.
"Huh, oh yes... let my brother know I'll be there for dinner tonight."
Smilingly, Kagerou escorted the messenger out of his room. The messenger thought it was a bit out of character for Kagerou, who was usually sullen and depressed, to all of a sudden be so cheerful, but he didn't comment on it.

Kagerou sat down on his bed examining the system that he got. As an avid reader of many novels during his past life, as well as a few fanfictions, he was well aware of the typical system troupe that was prevalent in many modern day novels. Each system usually had a topic that it focused on – his one seemed to be called the faction system.
It showed his overall strength of tokubetsu jounin (special jounin) as well as his identity. It also seemed to show the level of the system itself.
'System, what does the system level mean? And how do I increase it?'
Kagerou asked internally, hoping his system was one that was conscious enough to respond. Unfortunately he was met with cold silence.
'So the system isn't conscious then, that means I have to figure things out myself.'
He continued experimenting with different functions of the system to better understand it.
The system showed he had 3000 units of chakra which was also 3 times more than the chakra of Kakashi once he becomes a jounin. This made sense because despite being a special jounin, which is one rank below that of a normal jounin, as a member of the Uchiha clan, Kagerou naturally had some more chakra than his peers. Of course it was incomparable to clans like the Senju and Uzumaki, whos' primary trait was an abundance of chakra. Even Naruto, who was merely a half Uzumaki, definitely had more chakra at birth, than Kagerou right now.
'Hmmm, now that I think about Naruto he hasn't been born yet right. Maybe I can interfere with his birth to prevent his parents from dying.' Kagerou thought offhandedly as he continued to peruse the system interface.
There were sections for each elemental ninjutsu as well. Kagerou was already ranked B-rank for fire release due his life as an Uchiha shinobi. It naturally meant he would have extensive experience with fire release jutsus. the 25% to A-rank part obviously meant he was a quarter of the way to being A-rank overall in fire release. The best way to progress would be to learn more fire jutsus.
His second element was lightning release, which was also B-rank but slightly lower in terms of experience than fire release. With this, Kagerou could see that his predecessor definitely didn't slack off, he simply wasn't a genius like his siblings.
The remaining 3 elements had N/A, this probably meant that Kagerou didn't have the chakra affinity to use them. Obviously he still could, but it would be a lot more difficult to learn.
One thing bugging Kagerou, was why there was no section for jutsus without a chakra nature, like the basic 3, rasengan, shadow clone... In the end he got not answer from his system.
The good thing was that he could unlock things like new chakra natures, and even evolve his eyes with SPs, which were obviously system points.
There were also three locked sections. It was pretty obvious what each of them did, except for maybe the [✦Faction Panel✦]. Kagerou still wasn't clear what that was yet.
As Kagerou managed to understand what he could, another prompt appeared on the screen in front of him.
[Would host like to open the newbie gift box? -yes- -no-]
"yes, of course," Kagerou remarked as he pressed the 'yes' button. A bunch of text followed.
[Newbie gift box opened]
[Host receives: ×2 Kage-level chakrabound vassals].
Kagerou was shocked for a few second, after which his shock was quickly replaces by relief and ecstasy. At least now he wouldn't need to worry about his safety with 2 kage-level shinobi protecting him. But what exactly did chakrabound mean?
As he was immersed in his thoughts a second system panel slowly appeared before him. This one was for the purpose of customizing his new vassals.
He could choose the name, gender, physical characteristics, skills and even their background. There were many options to create a vassal exactly as he wanted, the only constraint was that their overall strength was limited to the kage-level.
Kagerou first decided to create a vassal that was a member of the Uchiha clan. The only kage-level ninja in the clan currently, apart from his father, was his uncle, Uchiha Yamato, who was a kage-level ninja despite not awakening the mangekyou sharingan due to his mastery of the clans fire jutsus. Of course Kagerou, who had seen the Naruto anime in his past life was already aware that his brother Fugaku would awaken the mangekyou at some point during the third shinobi war going on right now, but he didn't know exactly when that would happen – or even if it had already happened.
The clan itself was currently divided into 2 factions – the radical and pacifist factions. The radicals constantly pushed for a coup d'état against the Konoha leadership, due to dissatisfaction at the mistreatment of the leadership ever since the second hokage's reign. And it had only worsened since the third hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, and his friend Shimura Danzo had come into power. The Uchiha no longer even had a seat on the Konoha council, when every other clan did.
The official reasoning for this from the leadership was that the Uchiha now controlled the entire Konoha police force, and thus had no more need of a seat on the council, as that would cause too much of a disparity in power. And that's how the Uchiha, one of the 2 founding clans of Konoha, had been sidelined and systematically stripped of its power until it was now just a shell of it's former self.
Luckily, the radical faction within the clan was a minority, as most of the clan understood that a coup d'état would eventually result in the clan's eternal demise. But that didn't stop some of the more arrogant and anger-prone individuals in the clan from wanting a coup anyway. And unfortunately, Kagerou's uncle happened to be one of them. Uchiha Yamato was the only known kage-level shinobi in the clan, and one of the few in the village. As such he had a high level of authority within the clan, just below the patriarch Fugaku and his father, the former patriarch. He was also the leader of the radical faction.
Kagerou himself wasn't part of either faction in the clan. The pacifists, which were indirectly lead by Fugaku (although officially Fugaku was neutral), wouldn't accept him due to the grudge between the two brothers. The radicals wouldn't accept him because he was the blood-related sibling of the opposing faction's leader. And its not like either faction desperately needed a tokubetsu jounin anyway. Kagerou was basically a chuunin who had managed to get promoted to a special jounin because of the war – as this rank hadn't existed before the war began. He only had a few jutsus at the B-rank level, which wasn't yet enough to be a jounin.
That being said, now that Kagerou had 2 kage-level shinobi, and he had decided one of them would be an Uchiha, his political standing in the clan was about to undergo a tremendous change.
