Chapter 1 - ddd

The moment Kuroko steps out of the school with Momoi in tow, Kagami is a little bit in awe of how good Kuroko looks.

Kuroko's wearing a beige-colored long-sleeve turtleneck with dark brown, high-waisted pants. Her outfit fits her like a glove, showing off her figure and making her look effortlessly elegant. Amusingly, the black ankle boots she's wearing boost her height an inch or so, and Kagami's gaping mouth closes into a grin when Kuroko keeps trying to get back inside the pool's building as if she's embarrassed by what she's wearing.

Momoi successfully manages to drag Kuroko over to them, dusting off the invisible dust from Kuroko's shoulders before making a 'ta da' gesture. "Doesn't Tetsu-chan look great?!"

Kuroko self consciously crosses her arms, unintentionally showing off her toned arms and emphasizing her already big chest. "Momoi-san could have at least gotten me a sweater."

"Don't be silly!" Momoi laughs, hugging her to cheer her up. "It's warm out and you're already too bundled up."

"I suppose," Kuroko says quietly, still inconsonant.

"Don't stress, Tetsu. Satsuki's got a point, you do look good." Despite his words of encouragement, Aomine gestures to the sweater he's wearing. "You could always wear my sweater, though."

Kuroko perks up at the offer, but Momoi just pulls her closer to herself, flashing Aomine a glare.

Kagami can't help but snort at the two Touou students' antics. It's no wonder Kuroko puts up with a lot of crap. She's built her tolerance from them and probably the other Miracles.

While they're still busy having a stare-off, Kagami steps forward to ruffle Kuroko's hair. It's fully dry now, soft and fluffy as ever. He rests his hand there, looking down at Kuroko with a playful grin. "I should've known you'd dress like that. It matches your bookworm self."

Kuroko grabs his hand to get it away from her hair, pursing her lips slightly. Kagami can't help but stare at them. They're shiny with a light coat of lipgloss, and, now that he's looking at her face, her eyelashes are curled. "Kagami-kun shouldn't make fun of other people."

Kagami ruffles her hair again with his other hand, just for the hell of it. "I'm not making fun of you," he says, "I just said that your clothes suit you."

Kuroko resigns to getting her hair messed up, and with a hum, she says, "Well, Kagami-kun had an interesting way of complimenting me."

"Do you want me to insult you?" Kagami mutters under his breath. As soon as he finishes saying that, he pauses and realizes something. "You wanted me to insult you, didn't you? That way you'd have an excuse to change into something else." At Kuroko's silence, Kagami laughs loudly. "I'm right, aren't I?"

Kuroko harrumphs, refusing to meet him in the eyes.

Kagami calms down, dropping his hand so he can flick her forehead lightly. "Idiot. You could wear anything and I doubt you'd look bad."

Kuroko remains silent for a moment before she smiles. "Now that's how you compliment someone."

"Shut up," Kagami blushes, reaching to flick her forehead once more, but Kuroko ducks before he can. Her eyes light up with playfulness when she straightens up, her smile still on her lips. The sight of her being so lively is captivating, and Kagami's stomach flutters for some reason.

He doesn't dwell on the feeling for too long because Momoi begins to tug Kuroko away, apparently done glaring at Aomine for now. Kagami is quick to follow after them, having no choice but to walk next to Aomine as the girls take the lead.

Neither of them bothers to start a conversation, and that's fine with Kagami. He doesn't know what he'd talk about, anyway. And besides, Momoi's plenty of animated for all of them, and Kuroko's subdued input is enough to keep them from falling into awkward silence.

__________

The shopping district they go to is full of bright lights, chatter, and crowds.

All kinds of stores are open, none of which are empty and without at least a handful of shoppers. The air smells of sweets and greasy food that makes Kagami's mouth water and eager to buy. The lack of food in his stomach is a painful reminder that he hasn't eaten anything since lunch.

Kuroko, his savior, suggests to Momoi that they should go somewhere to eat first, and Momoi, ever the one to listen to Kuroko, agrees and they head to a teppanyaki restaurant.

The table they're ushered to is in the back, where most of the restaurant noise isn't as loud as it is closer to the entrance. It's also one that they have to share with another group of people around their age. They don't pay them any mind, barely acknowledging them as they stare at them in open curiosity and astonishment. If Kagami were to guess, they're probably staring because of how tall he and Aomine are.

Kagami takes a seat on one of the table's ends, and he's followed by Kuroko, Aomine, and Momoi, who sits at the other end simply because she doesn't want Aomine to intimidate the girls sitting next to that chair. The four of them have enough elbow room, but he and Kuroko still brush arms.

Their chef is a friendly, flirtatious guy who can't be any older than them, and Kagami's proven right when the guy admits that his dad owns the restaurant and it's going to be his first time cooking by himself. His admission makes the girls at the table giggle and coo, save for Kuroko and Momoi, thankfully. The last thing Kagami wants is for them to get easily impressed by an attention-seeking guy.

They're munching on some fried rice and taking the drinks they ordered when Kuroko leans close to Kagami to whisper something to him. Kagami leans down and listens to Kuroko say, "The chef reminds me of a mix between Kise-kun and Izuki-senpai."

Kagami snorts. The guy is a spitting image of them, but a little bit too over the top.

"What's so funny?" Aomine huffs, frustrated at their secrecy.

Kuroko sighs, fondly exasperated, and whispers her comment to Aomine, who can't keep quiet and laughs. His laugh resembles a cackle, one that fits an evil villain from a shounen anime, and it causes people to glance over at them. Including the chef.

"Care to share the joke? I'm always in the mood for one."

Aomine shrugs. "I don't know. Tetsu's humor isn't for everyone." Especially because it's of you, goes without saying.

"Tetsu?" The chef repeats, and then he blinks in shocked stupor when his eyes land on Kuroko. His mouth drops, the turner in his hand almost dropping.

"Hello," Kuroko says, giving him a wave.

The chef straightens up almost immediately. "Hey, I'm Hayato," he says, flashing Kuroko an inviting smile. "Is everything to your liking, Tetsu-san?"

"Please call me Kuroko," she says plainly, almost firmly. "But, yes. You make very good fried rice, Hayato-kun."

"Oh, that's nothing," Hayato dismisses, sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck. He gestures to the grill, where he's cooking some shrimp. "Which reminds me, do me a favor and open your mouth."

Kuroko blinks, confused and unsure. At the sight of Hayato cutting and flattening a piece of shrimp with his turner, she hesitantly follows his instructions. And, once the shrimp has cooled off a bit, Hayato flips the shrimp into the air, flinging it right into Kuroko's mouth with perfect accuracy.

Their table erupts into claps and applause as Kuroko chews. Hayato bows dramatically, soaking in the attention, and thanks everyone before facing Kuroko. "So? How was that?" He asks expectantly.

"Impressive," Kuroko admits, politely dabbing her mouth with a napkin. "Hayato-kun is lucky I'm not allergic to shrimp."

Hayato laughs, flipping the shrimp on the grill over so they don't burn. "I guess I am. Say, are you busy later?"

Before Kuroko can say anything, Aomine drapes his arm on the back of Kuroko's chair, sparring Hayato a mild glare. "She has plans already."

Hayato doesn't seem intimidated by Aomine, but he lays off with his advances towards Kuroko for the rest of their meal.

Later, when they're standing from their seats to leave the restaurant, Hayato hands Kuroko a coupon that promises an entire free meal and wishes her a great day. None of them think too much of it until Kuroko tells them that the coupon has Hayato's phone number attached to it.

After hearing that, Aomine and Momi practically glue themselves to Kuroko, telling her that the food wasn't even that good and that she should throw that coupon away.

Kagami rolls his eyes and takes the coupon when Kuroko hands it to him so he can keep it safe.

__________

Momoi finally has mercy on them after visiting seven different stores.

She has them sit in a small cafe while she goes off to one final shop to wrap up her shopping, begrudgingly leaving Kuroko with them after Kuroko claimed that she was tired of trying on stuff.

Once Momoi's out of sight, Kuroko offers to get them something from the cafe. Kagami gladly takes her offer and asks her to bring him anything she thinks he'd like, while Aomine tells her he'll just have the same thing as her.

They watch Kuroko step inside the cafe, joining the growing line. She looks comically out of place. The people around her bump into her accidentally, realizing too late that she's there. They apologize, and, not too long after, the girls waiting behind Kuroko seem to compliment her outfit. They don't have to hear what they're saying because, judging by their smiles and their gesturing to Kuroko's outfit and their own, they know that they're roping Kuroko into a conversation about clothes.

Kagami watches her for a while, but now that he's left with Aomine, he takes this opportunity to cause a little trouble and have some fun.

"That Hayato guy," Kagami says, catching Aomine's attention. How should he say this without angering him that much? "He seemed interested in Kuroko."

Aomine snorts airily as he leans against his chair. "Desperate, more like."

"Sure," Kagami agrees, just to go along with him. "But Kuroko didn't seem to mind." He almost tells him about Kuroko's decision to keep the coupon with Hayato's number but decides to hold off. He's ninety-five percent sure that Kuroko only kept it for the free meal.

"She was sparing him," Aomine says dismissively. "He's not her type."

Kagami bites back a grin. It's sort of impressive how Aomine hasn't lost his temper yet. "How do you know that?"

"Tetsu would want someone that plays basketball," Aomine says, explanation so vague that Kagami's positive that Aomine doesn't actually know what her type is. For all his bravado, Aomine's likely too awkward to actually and directly ask her.

"If Hayato doesn't know how to play, she could teach him," Kagami argues.

"He could hate it," Aomine retorts lamely. "Tetsu would be devastated."

"I don't know," Kagami drawls, drumming his fingers on the table. "They say that as long as you spend time with your partner, you'd still have good compatibility. Plus, Kuroko's stubborn and she'd try even harder to get him to like basketball."

Finally, Aomine starts to show some agitation. His face starts to sour and his posture stiffens. It feels like a sweet victory, one that Kagami wishes he could keep pressing for more, but Kuroko's on her way back, and Kagami has to drop the conversation altogether.

They settle their features into something casual, an act that fails to convince Kuroko. She eyes them suspiciously as she takes a seat, handing them their food and drinks with steady hands, but she doesn't press for details.

"You got me some fruit sando," Kagami states, eyeing his plate with delight. It's been a while since he's eaten any.

Kuroko hums, passing Aomine a blueberry and granola parfait. Kuroko's parfait is the same, except with cherries instead of blueberries. "Yes. I remembered you were craving some."

Kagami does remember saying that, but weeks ago. Long before Kuroko started staying at his apartment.

"This doesn't look the same as yours," Aomine comments, taking a spoonful of his parfait either way.

"You don't like cherries, Aomine-kun," Kuroko says, picking up the only cherry from her parfait that has a stem. "It would've been a waste of money if I had gotten you one."

Kagami takes a bite of one of his sandwiches. "No, it wouldn't. I would have eaten it."

"I suppose so."

For the rest of the day, Aomine is quieter than usual.

Kagami doesn't particularly feel guilty since Aomine has said and done much more annoying things to him. In fact, he thinks he's done Aomine a little favor because while Momoi fawns over the things she got, Kuroko sticks to Aomine's side. They walk alongside each other and Kuroko takes up the role of doing most of the talking, visibly making Aomine loosen up and putting an end to his brooding.

When it's time for Aomine and Momoi to take a train back home, Aomine pulls Kagami to the side while Kuroko helps Momoi buy their train tickets.

"You were trying to piss me off earlier, weren't you?"

Shoving his hands into his pockets, Kagami smirks. "You're kind of an ass, man. It was about time I gave you a taste of your own medicine."

Instead of getting mad, Aomine huffs out a laugh and turns to look at where Kuroko and Momoi stand. The two girls are at a self-service ticket machine, standing close together as Kuroko does the work for Momoi, who merely talks her ear off and clutches onto Kuroko's arm.

They fall into silence as they watch the two girls get tickets without a hitch, and when it's time to see Aomine and Momoi off at their train, Aomine bids him an actual normal goodbye. Kagami automatically returns it, failing to keep himself from sounding baffled.

He waits until Aomine and Momoi have left before turning to Kuroko. "What the fuck just happened?"

"I think Aomine-kun has officially acknowledged that you two are friends," she hums.

"This is weird," Kagami says, having no else to describe what happened.

"Well, I'm glad," Kuroko says, undeterred. She grabs onto his sleeve as they weave between crowds. "It's about time, too."

Still reeling, Kagami lets Kuroko lead the way back to the apartment.

If Momoi's shopping trips always end up like this, he might start declining to go so often.

Kagami underestimates just how hard Riko can push them at practice every time. It's a horrible manner of his. It makes his day start as if he got no sleep at night and ends like he's going to collapse and have to resort to having Kuroko, somehow, drag him back to the apartment.

It's the end of the week, though, and fortunate for them, the start of the Golden Week. They'll have an entire week off school- and practice- and Kagami can't wait for the much-needed break. The first couple of weeks back to school had been brutal. It's like their teachers didn't care that they were in their third year now.

By the time they're heading back to the apartment, the sun is close to the setting, painting the sky with splashes of pink, orange, and yellow. It's a pretty sight, sort of like the ones you see in cheesy romantic movies. Kagami isn't one to take pictures of sunsets, but with Kuroko walking alongside him, carrying a dozing Nigou in her arms, he'd take out his phone to snap a quick one if he wasn't dead on his feet.

He forces himself to face forward, willing his legs to keep moving. He's been doing that a lot recently; staring at Kuroko and itching to take a picture of her. He doesn't get why, and he doesn't want to ask Himuro about it, and like hell he's going to ask Alex. They'd make fun of him, or if they figured out why, they wouldn't tell him what was wrong with him. They'd make him figure it out himself.

But people took pictures of their friends all the time, didn't they? Maybe Kagami's worried about what's to come at the end of their third year. He and Kuroko are inseparable. Kuroko isn't going to disappear so there's no need for Kagami to feel this way. And as far as he knows, Kuroko told him that her house is still being remodeled. Kuroko isn't going away.

Maybe this is how the Generation of Miracles feel too.

"Kagami-kun is quiet," Kuroko muses, and Kagami can't resist looking at her again. The sunset makes Kuroko's hair and eyes stand out like she's part of the sunset.

He blinks, getting rid of that cheesy comment from his mind to respond and not stare at her like he's an idiot. "I'm tired."

Kuroko hums in agreement. "Is Kagami-kun glad that no one showed up today?"

By 'no one' she means one or several of the Miracles. Kagami often complains to Kuroko that whenever they visit- which they do too frequently- Kagami's left even more drained. They're a headache when more than one of them visits, and Kagami honestly doesn't know how Kuroko has enough patience to not snap and make them leave.

If alone, Akashi and Midorima are fairly the calmest.

Akashi usually takes Kuroko out- to where exactly Kagami doesn't know- and if he doesn't, he has tea with Kuroko and long conversations about anything that comes to mind. He sometimes coerces Kuroko into playing shogi or chess with him while Kagami watches them. Akashi wins almost every time, but what fuels Kuroko to keep playing are the rare times she comes out victorious. That, and she refuses to give up.

Midorima hardly comes into the apartment. He declines Kuroko's insistence to have at least one cup of tea and instead asks Kuroko if she'd like to accompany him to do some errands with him. Kagami doesn't understand why Kuroko goes because, honestly speaking, that sounds boring and not something he'd want to do when he could be doing something better. Kuroko never complains, though, and if she's in the mood to let Kagami on some things about Midorima, she admits that Midorima's secretly a gregarious softie- with the right person, of course.

Murasakibara is somewhat calm too. He kind of acts like a lazy cat that only moves when he either wants to be pampered or be given some food. If he's over, he hogs the couch to himself, refusing to let anyone but Kuroko join him. When that happens, he puts his head on Kuroko's lap, taking a nap there and letting her play with his hair. And if Kagami doesn't have his pantry and fridge loaded with snacks, he'll complain until Kuroko sends Kagami to fetch some. Murasakibara sometimes makes up for his laziness with his occasional baking sprees.

Kise and Aomine, meanwhile, are the main sources of Kagami's headaches. Especially if they visit together.

Kise likes to talk. A lot . Kagami already knew this, but with Kuroko, Kise wants her to know everything. About this new modeling gig he did or has to do, about how he saw this cute dress he thinks Kuroko would like, about how he's going to need a tutor for his literature class because he can't focus no matter how much he tries to- Kagami's positive that Kuroko is going to offer him her help just so he stops bringing that up every time he visits- and about generally anything that pops up into his head. So far, he has not accomplished his goal to take Kuroko out shopping.

And Aomine's kind of an asshole. If he isn't feeling lazy, he annoys Kagami to no end. He'll poke fun at him, laugh at something cruelly he said, and leave a mess if he's joining them for a movie night or dinner. Kuroko acts as their mediator most of the time, but the instances Aomine is less of an ass, he tells them they should play basketball- where, once they've got a court to themselves, he'll demand to have Kuroko to be on his team- and after, if they aren't too sweaty, go out to Maji Burger and stuff themselves until Kuroko asks them to eat normally and not like they're in a food competition.

When all of the Miracles visit, Kagami ends up wanting to pull all of his hair out ten minutes into their visit. Kuroko stops him every time, but only because she tells him that he'd look weird bald.

"Definitely," Kagami answers. "I don't have the strength to put up with any of them today. I just want to take a shower, eat dinner, and watch some TV. Maybe go to bed early."

"That does sound good," Kuroko agrees, sounding a bit wistful. Kagami hopes that she isn't going to let him know at the last minute that they're coming over. But, thankfully, she doesn't. "Momoi-san texted me after practice."

Kagami can surprisingly put up with Momoi better than the Miracles. She leaves him alone mostly so she can fully focus on Kuroko. She can get rather loud if she gets too excited, but Kuroko can easily calm her down, and they never linger too long in the apartment. Momoi likes to shop, and since she's the only one Kuroko lets her take her out shopping- Kagami guesses, unless Akashi is taking her out shopping in their mysterious outings- she takes full advantage of that.

"What'd she say?" Kagami asks, not paying attention. They've finally turned the corner to their street, the apartment in view now.

Kuroko goes on, not noticing. "She's very upset that she can't go to Hakodate with us. She has to accompany her parents to a family gathering."

Now that catches his attention. "We're going to Hakodate?"

Kuroko tilts her head. "Kagami-kun sounds confused."

"That's because I am!" Kagami unintentionally shouts, waking up Nigou. His voice carries out across the entire street, but they're the only two outside so he doubts anyone is bothered by it. "Since when?"

"I believe I told you the day Akashi-kun told me," Kuroko says, pensive, petting Nigou so the dog can fall back to sleep. "To be exact, it was on Monday."

She's right. Kagami faintly remembers Kuroko asking him if he had any plans for Golden Week. He didn't think much of it when he told her no, and she hadn't said anything after he did either.

Kagami runs a hand through his hair, thinking. "If we're going to Hakodate, that means we'll need to find a place to stay."

"We're all staying in Akashi-san's home in Hakodate." Kuroko side glances him. "Kagami-kun must be really tired if he forgot I told him all of this on Monday."

"I just thought they'd want to spend some alone time with you." At the blank look Kuroko gives him, Kagami shrugs. "I didn't think they'd want me to go."

"I told them I wasn't going if you weren't invited as well."

Kagami blinks at her, flabbergasted. He didn't have to go with them. He wouldn't be offended if he wasn't invited, and he wouldn't have minded spending Golden Week by himself. The apartment would've felt empty without Kuroko, sure, but he'd spent time with Himuro, and maybe get Alex to fly over. There are the guys from Seirin too, so Kagami wouldn't have been truly alone.

"You want me to go?" Kagami asks slowly. At the firm nod he receives, he raises an eyebrow. "Why?"

Kuroko stops walking, turning to face him, a smile on her face. "Because I don't want you to be alone."

It's unfair how Kuroko's smile can make Kagami feel warm. She's been smiling a lot lately, but she's got a whole range of smiles with different meanings. The ones meant for him, though, are his favorite.

"I also think you'd be incapable of properly taking care of yourself," Kuroko adds, like the little shit she is.

Kagami aims to grab her head, but she swiftly dodges his hand. "I am capable! I was doing just fine long before you started staying over."

"I suppose I don't have to help you with your homework now," Kuroko muses out loud, looking up at him through her lashes. Her smile is a borderline smirk, and if it weren't for the sunset behind her, instead of looking angelic, she'd no doubt have two little horns sticking out from her head. "I also don't have to help you iron your clothes, help you wash the dishes, remind you to bring an extra pair of shoes in case Nigou-"

"Fine," Kagami grumbles, "Things have been… better with you around."

"Of course they have," Kuroko agrees, "And I think I know how Kagami-kun can repay me."

"Is providing a roof under your head not enough?"

Kuroko continues, ignoring his comment. "Kagami-kun's going to let me shower first."

"Are you going to accept any answer that isn't a yes?"

"No."

Kagami sighs, trying to be annoyed and failing to keep himself from smiling.

Kuroko is the first to shower, and when Kagami steps out of his shower, Kuroko casually lets him know that they have a train to catch early tomorrow morning and that he should start packing.

Kagami's life is definitely better with Kuroko around, but it's also frustrating.

He wouldn't trade it for the whole world, though.

__________

Traveling early in the morning is hell, but since it's the ass crack of dawn, Kagami and Kuroko sleep the entire five-hour train ride without waking up a single time until it's time to get off.

They're waiting for Akashi to pick them up, munching on some snacks Kuroko cleverly packed for them, when Kagami realizes something.

"Who's going to watch Nigou?"

"Riko-san," Kuroko responds, sparing him a glance. She's most likely judging him again for having a piss poor memory. "I gave her my spare keys to the apartment before we left practice. She'll be taking him to her house and will have him back the day of our return."

He nods, acknowledging her answer. He's not that tired anymore since their nap on the train did him wonders, so he's buzzing with excitement for this year's Golden Week, unable to focus on anything else besides the busy week they'll surely have. The Miracles don't seem like the type of people that travel for simply one thing, and ever since Kuroko told him what Hakodate is known for, Kagami can already expect that they'll visit plenty of the city's hot springs, attractions, and try plenty of new food

They keep waiting for a couple of minutes before a black Rolls Royce stops in front of them. The window behind the passenger seat rolls down, revealing Akashi. "Good morning. Would you like a ride?"

Kuroko huffs. "Akashi-kun's humor is as wonderful as ever." She leans forward, getting into Akashi's personal space and startling the redhead for a brief second. "Good morning, Eito-san. It is a pleasure to see you again."

The driver, Eito, and probably one of Akashi's butlers smiles warmly at Kuroko. "Likewise, Kuroko-san. I do hope I did not make you wait too long."

Kuroko returns the smile, and it's obvious to Kagami that she's known him for more than just a couple of instances. "You did not. Kagami-kun and I arrived just a couple of minutes ago."

"Good," Eito nods, unlocking the doors. "Would you like some help with your luggage?"

"I got it," Kagami speaks up.

"Thank you, Kagami-kun. I'm afraid my back isn't as good as it was years ago. I apologize for the lack of help I'm providing for you two."

Kagami shrugs, despite it being impossible for Eito to see it. "I don't mind doing the heavy lifting. I'm used to carrying Kuroko's stuff."

"Only because Kagami-kun insists that he does," Kuroko adds, and Eito chuckles.

"Before you two quarrel, may I suggest putting away your luggage first and then entering the car? This place isn't a place reserved for parking, and I don't think Akashi-kun would appreciate getting a fine the first day he arrived at Hakodate."

Akashi nods in agreement, his eyes never leaving Kuroko. "I do not want to rush you, but the others are waiting for our arrival."

Kuroko hums, straightening up. She passes Kagami her luggage, and Kagami takes it to quickly put both of theirs in the trunk. Once he's made sure the trunk has closed firmly, he lets Kuroko step into the car first- he'd rather not sit in between Akashi and Kuroko, all while blocking Eito's view of the back of the car- and steps in after Kuroko.

Surprisingly, it's not much of a tight fit. It helps that Akashi and Kuroko are smaller than him and that Eito kindly moved his seat more forward to give Kagami's legs more space.

Not too long after, Eito drives and they're off into busy streets. Kagami looks through the window, trying to remember the places that have caught his attention for possible future visits. Hakodate is known for their morning markets, and he'd like to- as much as it sucks that he's going to have to wake up rather early- take Kuroko out for some food hunts and grocery shopping. He's got an inkling that at one point in their vacation, he's going to cook for everyone.

"Have you two eaten breakfast?" Akashi asks, breaking the peaceful silence.

"No," Kagami says, thankful that his stomach didn't growl. "Unless you count some energy bars as breakfast."

"I do not," Akashi says, flickering his attention back to Kuroko. "I'm assuming you were the one that had those energy bars."

Kuroko turns to him. "You assume right. Kagami-kun gets angry easily if he doesn't eat something in the morning right away."

"Says the bitch that communicates through grunts as soon as she wakes up," Kagami mumbles, instantly earning himself an elbow to the ribs. He rubs the aching spot with a teasing grin. "It's true and you know it."

Kuroko harrumphs, ignoring him. Eito glances at them through the rearview mirror with a smile, while Akashi appears delighted at the revelation.

"She communicates much like someone would in the paleolithic era, doesn't she?" Akashi remarks, red eyes glinting. "How amusing that your habits from Teiko are ongoing, Tetsuya."

"I will elbow you too, Akashi-kun," Kuroko warns lightly, obviously teasing yet serious.

Akashi raises his hand in mock surrender.

Aside from the bruise that's going to form, Kagami thinks that their vacation is already off to a great start.
