Emily dreamt of a darkness. Endless, all-encompassing darkness.
She stood in a dark mist in a starless void completely and utterly alone.
But that wasn't entirely right.
Looking down at her corporeal self, her lips parted in surprise.
Her hands were a whispy and smoky haze
"Why am I translucent? Did I die?"
The memory of the silver eyes was fresh in her mind.
"Is this supposed to be the afterlife?"
After lifemoments, she felt a deep profound regret.
The thoughts of all the things that she wouldn't be able to do.
" Well…"
She looked up scrutinizing her surroundings.
Her last memory was that she'd been fighting, had just barely held on for her life.
Then—she'd felt it.
A searing pain unlike anything she'd ever felt, so much so that her head felt like it was splitting in two.
"What's happening?"
She suppressed a groan. For a brief moment, her vision doubled, almost as though she was seeing the world from two different perspectives.
