BEN 10: ULTIMATE ALIEN
"Frequency"
A Fan-Made Episode Script (Original Story)
COLD OPEN
Place MR. SMOOTHY — DAY
Bright, ordinary daylight. BEN TENNYSON sits in a booth with GWEN TENNYSON and KEVIN LEVIN, three smoothies between them. It's quiet — a rare normal afternoon.
KEVIN
(stirring his smoothie)
Three days. Three whole days without an alarm, an alien invasion, or Forever Knights crashing through a wall. I don't trust it.
GWEN
(smirking)
Careful, Kevin. You almost sound disappointed.
KEVIN
I'm not disappointed. I'm suspicious. There's a difference.
Ben isn't really listening — his eyes are on the muted TV above the counter, where a NEWS REPORT plays: grainy security footage of a research lab, equipment knocked over, no visible attacker.
BEN
(squinting at the screen)
Hey... turn that up.
TV REPORTER (V.O.)
(filtered, tinny)
...the third such incident this week. Witnesses report hearing a high-pitched tone moments before equipment failed. No suspects, no forced entry. Police are calling it "unexplained."
Gwen turns, following Ben's gaze.
GWEN
Sound-based break-ins with no evidence of a break-in?
KEVIN
(deadpan)
And I jinxed it. Called it.
BEN
(standing, smoothie abandoned)
Three labs in a week, all hit by sound. That's not random.
GWEN
That's not human, either.
Ben looks down at the Ultimatrix.
BEN
Only one way to find out.
ACT ONE
EXT. BELLWOOD RESEARCH ANNEX — NIGHT
A modest research building, lights still on in one window despite the late hour. Ben, Gwen, and Kevin watch from across the street.
GWEN
(scanning)
This is the fourth location on the list — a private acoustics lab. If the pattern holds...
A high-pitched WHINE cuts through the air, barely audible at first, then rising. The single lit window FLICKERS and goes dark.
KEVIN
That's our cue.
They move. Inside, alarms begin blaring — but cut out abruptly, the wiring fried. Ben slaps the Ultimatrix dial.
[TRANSFORMATION SEQUENCE]
Green light wraps Ben's body. He shrinks and splits — not into one new form, but TWO identical white-and-black humanoid figures, faces blank but for a single speaker-like opening where a mouth would be.
BEN (AS ECHO ECHO) (BOTH VOICES, IN SYNC)
Echo Echo!
The two Echo Echoes look at each other, then nod, splitting off in different directions toward the building.
INT. RESEARCH ANNEX — LAB — CONTINUOUS
Smashed equipment, papers scattered, a faint electronic hum in the air. One Echo Echo slips in through a vent; the other circles to the front door, meeting Gwen and Kevin there.
KEVIN
(forcing the door)
Anything?
ECHO ECHO (1)
(quiet, listening)
Yeah. Something's still in here.
From deeper in the lab — a faint, distorted CHIRPING, almost like a question. Not threatening. Curious.
GWEN
(frowning)
That doesn't sound aggressive.
The second Echo Echo, inside the vent, spots movement: a small, hovering, crystalline creature, roughly the size of a cat, its body faceted like a cut gem and pulsing faintly with light. It's plucking wires from a damaged speaker system and... humming at them.
ECHO ECHO (2)
(whispering through the vent grate)
Uh, guys? I think I found our break-in.
The other Echo Echo and Gwen and Kevin enter the lab. The creature notices them immediately, freezing, then CHIRPS again — the sound resonating oddly, making the remaining intact equipment in the room buzz and spark in sympathy.
ECHO ECHO (1)
(stepping forward, careful)
Hey. Easy. We're not gonna hurt you.
The creature's chirp rises in pitch — distress, not aggression — and every piece of electronics in the room SURGES at once, lights blowing, monitors cracking. The Echo Echoes both flinch, covering their ears.
KEVIN
(yelling over the noise)
It's not attacking on purpose! It's panicking!
GWEN
(raising a mana shield to block flying debris)
Ben, do something before it brings the ceiling down on us!
ACT TWO
Echo Echo (1) holds up both hands, palms open — a calming gesture — then does something unexpected: instead of attacking, he opens his own chest-speaker and emits a low, steady tone, deliberately matching the creature's frantic pitch and gradually slowing it down.
ECHO ECHO (1)
(between tones)
Come on... match it... slow down...
The creature's chirping falters, syncing hesitantly with Echo Echo's tone. The surging equipment around the room calms, sparks dying down. After a tense moment, the creature drifts closer, no longer pulsing in alarm — just dim, curious light.
GWEN
(quietly, amazed)
You're... talking to it.
ECHO ECHO (1)
(softly)
Not talking. Just... matching its wavelength. I think that's all it wants. Something on the same frequency.
The creature lands gently on Echo Echo's outstretched palm, chirping once more — softer now, almost grateful.
KEVIN
(skeptical, lowering his guard slightly)
Okay, but if it's friendly, why's it trashing every lab in Bellwood?
As if in answer, the creature's body flickers, and a faint HOLOGRAPHIC IMAGE projects from its crystal surface — distorted, but recognizable: a much larger version of itself, fractured, surrounded by jagged broken light, like a star shattering.
GWEN
(studying the projection)
That's... I think that's a memory. Something happened to it. Or its kind.
ECHO ECHO (2)
(realization dawning)
It's not stealing tech. It's looking for something. Listening for a signal. Like it's trying to find its way home — and every piece of equipment it touches is just it trying to "speak" the right frequency.
KEVIN
(unconvinced)
Great. So it's a homesick alien gerbil that short-circuits buildings by accident. How do we fix THAT?
Both Echo Echoes share a look — the kind of look Ben gives himself when an idea is forming.
ECHO ECHO (1)
(slowly)
Maybe we don't fix it. Maybe we just... help it get loud enough to be heard.
GWEN
(catching on, worried)
Ben, if its natural signal is already overloading lab equipment, amplifying that on purpose could—
ECHO ECHO (1)
(firm)
I know. Which is why I'm not gonna use a building's wiring to do it.
The Ultimatrix symbol on his chest flickers.
ECHO ECHO (1) (CONT'D)
I'm gonna use mine.
[ULTIMATE TRANSFORMATION SEQUENCE]
Both Echo Echo duplicates rejoin, slamming back together into a single form as the Ultimatrix symbol snaps open. Mechanical petals unfold and lock into place. The transformation is sleeker than brute-force Ultimates — his frame stretches taller, more angular, his single chest-speaker splitting into multiple resonance vents along his arms and back, faint blue sound-wave patterns glowing across his white plating.
BEN (AS ULTIMATE ECHO ECHO)
(voice layered, resonant, almost musical)
Ultimate Echo Echo.
The little crystal creature drifts up toward him, chirping — curious, not afraid.
GWEN
(watching, quiet awe)
He's not bigger. He's not stronger. He's just... built to be heard.
KEVIN
(grudging respect)
Huh. Didn't know that was an option.
ACT THREE
Ultimate Echo Echo kneels, lowering his hand so the creature can land on it again. He focuses — and instead of the chaotic, overloading shriek from before, a clean, controlled TONE rings out from his resonance vents, layered and harmonized, far more powerful than before but precisely tuned.
ULTIMATE ECHO ECHO
(low, concentrating)
Okay, little guy. Let's make some noise the right way.
The creature's body lights up in response, matching the tone perfectly. Together, the combined frequency pulses outward in a visible ripple of light and sound — not destructive, just far-reaching, washing harmlessly over the cracked lab equipment instead of frying it.
For a moment, nothing happens. Then — a faint ANSWERING TONE, distant, echoing back from somewhere beyond the building, beyond the city. The creature SHUDDERS with excitement, chirping rapidly.
GWEN
(stunned)
That's a response. Something out there heard it.
ULTIMATE ECHO ECHO
(small smile)
Guess it just needed someone to turn up the volume the right way.
The creature rises off his palm, spinning happily in the air, its crystal body brightening steadily — then, in a soft flash of light, it streaks upward through the broken ceiling and out into the night sky, leaving a faint shimmer of light trailing behind like a shooting star in reverse.
Silence. Kevin lets out a breath.
KEVIN
So... we just helped an alien phone home.
ULTIMATE ECHO ECHO
(shrugging, reverting back to human Ben with a flash of green light)
Beats fighting it. For once, nobody got hurt, nothing blew up worse than it already had, and the mystery's actually solved.
GWEN
(small smile)
I think I liked this one.
KEVIN
(already moving toward the door)
Yeah, yeah. Don't get used to it. Something's bound to try to eat us by Tuesday.
TAG SCENE
EXT. RESEARCH ANNEX — LATER
Police and a couple of unmarked Plumber vehicles arrive to handle the scene. Ben, Gwen, and Kevin lean against Kevin's car, watching the cleanup.
BEN
(looking up at the sky)
You think it made it back? Wherever "back" is?
GWEN
(following his gaze)
I think it found what it was listening for. That's usually the hard part.
Ben glances down at the Ultimatrix. The dial flickers — calm, green, ordinary again.
BEN
(quiet, almost to himself)
Yeah. Guess that's the job sometimes. Not every fight needs throwing punches.
KEVIN
(climbing into the car)
Don't get philosophical on me, Tennyson. Smoothies are getting warm.
Ben smirks, shaking his head, and climbs in after him. Gwen takes one last look at the sky before following.
FADE OUT.
