Chapter 173 - Discussion of Fairytales

Hearing Justice's mention of Roselle's diaries. Selina jolted and looked down.

Audrey didn't noticed this but Derrick, Alger and Klein was caught by this reaction. The latter two immediately went:

So Miss Lovers still had no pages to give...

While the former made an acute and innocent remark, That is Miss Lovers right? She exudes the same air as Ms. Lovia...

Alger was beginning to doubt his perception of her. A prominent member of a secret organization and instead a scatterbrained, perhaps even just an assistant of one.

The Fool Klein however, made a more mindful guess. It's still vivid to him how Selina noted that Mrs. White's followers have recently received damage that almost wiped them out.

He quickly associated this with Miss Lovers, who's also a believer of Mrs. White. Therefore, he's willing to overlook this once more.

As for Goddess Mrs. White, although recovering, made him see a potential to cooperate with a true Goddess. So not only through Selina that the Tarot Club will have an alliance with a genuine experienced beyonders, they can also open up resource exchange and have Mrs. White as another Deity to pray to.

A bunch of nepos will be born once I introduced Mrs. White to the club... Klein lampooned internally, while maintaining an air.

As he said that in his heart, the scolding session he got from Selina suddenly resurfaced in his mind. Klein's thoughts shifted to the image of the Goddess.

Truly what you'd expect from a genuine Deity... Lofty and distant, unaffected by emotions...

Audrey was focused in her own thoughts. Even adding in her mind, Actually there were three pages, but the characters were too complicated and too difficult to memorize. My limit is only a little over two pages. I would mess up if I were to memorize more. The rest will have to wait until the next gathering...

New pages of Roselle's diary? Klein's mind woken up from his sleep. Setting those things aside, he smiled and asked in reply when he already knew the answer, "Miss Justice, what do you need?"

Audrey's eyes beamed with excitement, but she replied in a reserved manner, "You know that I'll soon fully digest the Spectator potion. I hope that I can get the formula for the Telepathist potion so that I can prepare the ingredients ahead of time. Hmm, I know that there isn't much content for two pages of the diary, and it might not equal to the value of the Telepathist formula, so I'll give you another page, hmm, I'll also pay you a sum of money on the side..."

She had yet to finish what she said when she suddenly felt that it had come out wrong. She couldn't help but berate herself in her head, Mr. Fool is at the very least an important figure which approaches that of a god, how could he be bought over by money?!

Hence, Audrey couldn't maintain her Spectator state as she hurriedly added with a stammer, "That's not what I meant! Mr. Fool, what I meant is that you can determine the compensation that you'd like. Yes, that's what I meant!"

I like your earlier suggestion... Now that I think about it, I have requested pounds as a reward from Ms. Lovers. Did I really just forgot about it? I could've breezed through the prizes of the materials with that fund! Klein bit his lip behind the dense gray fog, wanting to hang himself because of this oversight.

Backlund Bank was one of the seven major banks in the Loen Kingdom, alongside Northbank and as such, it possessed the right to clear transactions.

The Loen Kingdom settled accounts with receipts to take care of cash transfer business between banks within the same city in a centralized manner. However, unlike banks in the Intis Republic, not all banks were part of the same league. The biggest seven banks held on to these rights. Hence, they were called the clearance banks, making other banks rely on them.

Transferring money from a different location, on the other hand, could only be done within the same bank. It would be completed by squaring accounts between branches. With the invention of the steam locomotive and telegram, the efficiency of these transfers had been enhanced drastically.

I was being rash when I told Ms. Lovers my admirer... Anyway, I can just relay this through Selina and Mrs. White. That way I won't have to rely on Selina's funds... while secretly feeling intense resignation. Klein heard The Sun Derrick suddenly spoke.

"The Telepathist potion formula? Telepathist that is followed by Psyche Analyst?"

Audrey looked towards him puzzledly. "You know of it?"

At the same time, Miss Justice saw a problem through her instinct as a Spectator.

The young man had used the ancient title "Psyche Analyst" instead of the modern term, "Psychiatrist!"

This guy is very strange... Audrey examined Sun's every movement.

Derrick didn't think that he behaved any differently but replied seriously, "I can get you the formula!"

Then, he felt guilty as he couldn't provide it immediately. He tried his best to explain himself, "It's a Sequence pathway that stemmed from the Dragon race. And our City of Silver was once ruled by the Giant King's imperial household. As you know, the Giants and the Dragons are sworn enemies. Hence, the City of Silver has all of Sequence 9, 8, and 7. I have ways to get them."

This kid... I already warned him not to speak carelessly or expose his origins. In the end... Klein nearly wanted to extend his hand to cover his face.

Sigh, although The Sun appears to be in great pain, very mature and silent for his age, he's just a boy after all! However, that clarifies one thing for me... It turns out that the Spectator Sequence's origins stem from the Dragon race. It's no wonder that the symbol formed by stars behind Miss Justice's high chair is the Dragon... The City of Silver has preserved history well... Klein maintained his posture of leaning against the back of his chair while he listened thoughtfully to The Sun's description.

On the other hand, Selina snapped and hoisted herself up, staring at the new member. Dragons?

The Spectator pathways is the pathway of Dragons? Wait, Giant King? Giant King and Dragon? How intriguing! at that moment. She started to recall Klein's shared details of the gray fog and Mr. Fool.

Apparently, similar as her, Klein is one of His blessed, one where he have the opportunity to know different things of the The Fool's divine kingdom. Including the twenty-two high-back chairs.

Behind and at the pinnacle, the seats have corresponding symbols that reflects a person's chose pathway, only if it's occupied. For Selina, it is a full crimson moon, with a drop of blood urging to fall.

It's that where the canny similarities behind the dragon symbol? Selina was fascinated. She felt that this young man was not from the Northern Continent simply by his accent.

If it were, and by chance it is the Southern Continent, Isabelle and Dylan will receive another support, perhaps this time a very reliable one. However, given by those two creatures, The Giant King and Dragons, it can't possibly be the case.

Giant King, Dragon race, the City of Silver... Audrey was confused. She first took a look at The Hanged Man opposite her and The Lovers next to her seat, but she could tell that both was shocked and confused as well from their body language.

She looked sideways towards the seat of honor on the long bronze table. She saw The Fool sitting on the high chair, engulfed in thick grayish-white fog. His right arm was placed on the armrest while he leaned sideways leisurely. He showed no shock, no curiosity, no thoughts, and no doubt. He only looked at them with a smile.

He knows... He knew all of this... Audrey and Alger made the definite judgment almost at the same time.

So, he asked in reply, "If you aren't residents of the City of Silver, which city-state are you from?"

Sigh... Klein couldn't help but wish to sigh again.

Hearing this, Selina's lips parted slightly, totally at a lose for words.

Not residents of the City of Silver?

When she turned and saw Audrey in the same reaction. She smiled slowly.

Because at that moment, she finally recalled and realized, one of the lines of Child of God's honorific titles spoke about the Kingdom in Silver. City of Silver!

"The Kingdom in Silver... I couldn't believe it truly exists." her voice with interest suddenly echoed in the stillness of the duo's silence.

Miss Lovers know The Sun's residence? Audrey and Alger gasped inwardly and asked themselves.

"Y-You're acting like the Kingdom of Silver had not existed. Are you one of the creatures beyond the dark?" Derrick eyes cautiously scanned Selina but eventually lit up.

Klein was also slightly taken aback, not much that it triggered his posture. However, he did certainly recall that Ms. Lovers is a subordinate of the White Maiden, thus perhaps likely know certain details of the City of Silver.

"I wouldn't call it creatures beyond the dark, are you implying that there are other humans beside the survivors of the Kingdom of Silver?" Selina said modestly.

Derrick nodded quickly, "We believed, the councils believed, but it's too difficult because beyond are monsters and more darkness."

Fascinating... I thought this world is based on the old Earth... Selina sighed and explained, "So the City in Silver truly exists.

"In our documents and archives. Our Goddess's honorific title 'The Goddess Consort of The Twilight King' and 'Subsidiary Ruler of the Kingdom in Silver'. All hinted at the Forsaken Land of the Gods, the Aurora Order's supposed holy land.

"The specialist in divinations had no traces of its surrounding Spirit World, thus we assumed it is a separate dimension. Located beyond the Sea of Ruins, the continent passed by it."

A-A Goddess? Goddess Consort, The Twilight King? Audrey and Alger glued to their seats, in disbelief of discussion being made and the topic being shifted to.

Who's the other deity Ms. Lovers is devoted to?

This concludes it, The Lovers is apart of an ancient organization! A prominent member!

"There are other continents?" The Sun Derrick blurted out with profound shock.

Selina continued to speak. "The history is blurry dear. The Sea of Ruins is a massive body of water where a crater of corruption persisted from unknown cause, no other vessels can possibly cross it, let alone survive."

She got to know corruptions, the speculations of the Kingdom in Silver, the Sea of Ruins and the Forsaken Land of the Gods within the documents Yesir gave. However, she wasn't too fond of fairytales, thus she skimmed through it, taking notes, and quickly moved onto the next entry.

I should review it again. Sigh, it would take hours to find it... Selina regrettably sighed, brooding if she had not skimmed, she would have given more details.

Beyond the Sea of Ruins, a cratered body of water filled with corruption, separated the Spirit World surroundings... This explains it, why the Forsaken Land of The Gods is isolated, no sunlight and littered to the brim with monsters. It is also one of the lands Roselle is trying to reach... Klein listened thoughtfully without breaking his image.

If he's not The Fool at this moment, he would've asked why did the gods forsaken it? What is the White Maiden's involvement with how the continent is shaped now? Can She also extend into the land with Her divine kingdom?

Alger slowly adjusted himself after The Lovers stopped. Within his knowledge, he further added in his heart, The Forsaken Land of the Gods is where the Fallen Creator is said to reside with His divine kingdom, as per claims of the Aurora Order members...

To think that it is indeed a true place...

"Excuse me, what is the Forsaken Land of the Gods?" Audrey blurted out with piqued interest, marveled by the direction of the discussion.

And at the same time slightly terrified. The Tarot Club had such a connection at the start with Ms. Lovers is what amazes her. Now that a member who resides within a mysterious land occupies a slot of the club, the topic now involves gods!

At that moment, The Fool in His Seat of Honor, rapped the armrest. The whole table's attention was drove to Him immediately.

Noticing this, Klein spoke languidly, "The Forsaken Land of the Gods is a continent beyond the Sea of Ruins. Darkness is its light, and it is where the White Maiden's former self reigned alongside Her spouse, the Twilight King.

"Until the Omniscient and Omnipotent Lord took back His authorities."
