A few days ago I got a call from the racer and idol Agnes Digital. She spoke saying," Is this Sharko-Chan's VA and her agent on the phone?" I was nervous, but I stayed calm and responded," Yes this is and what can I help you with that you would grace us Digitan-sama?" She smiled awkwardly saying," I had my connections contact you to invite you to a joint broadcast being held by me with other VTubers." I was very interested and soon my agent and I agreed on the event.
Still, a random minor tournament from a league that's not big in Japan is the farthest thing I thought we were broadcasting. I was supposed to react and analyze like a sports commentator to this. They even told me to keep it a surprise and if the stream gets canceled we have a plan B broadcast. Still, I was being paid and I agreed to it so let's get started. I soon began my broadcast and so did everyone else with me saying," Hello everyone welcome to the surprise joint stream between us Vtubers and Uma idols, Yay!!!"
The comments were received immediately with joy. I soon explained to them," Okay we're all gathered here today by the Uma Idol and athlete Agnes Digital to watch and react to a tournament happening outside of Japan." The comments went from cheering on Digitan to being confused. I soon told them," I don't know much about it either, but if the stream fails we have a backup plan. Now I wasn't informed too much about it to make my reactions genuine so let's just get things started."
I turn on the broadcast as Digitan sent me the signal to begin the broadcast. Everyone began as well and the broadcast of the tournament began. Multiple racers were being introduced as I spoke saying," It seems Digitan wants us to focus on this team called the Bloody Broncos that's about to come out." Everyone was confused about what a bronco was but an explanation was already given to me and I told them what it was. This did not clear up everything as everyone had more questions, but soon the team came out.
They all wore masks and were obviously using code names, which confused everyone. I asked Digitan about it in front of everyone and she responded saying," There's a reason for that, and watching the show will explain it. Also, I just got a message saying our broadcast is now approved so it won't be shut down." We all celebrated saying our yays and woos. We continued watching as I explained things to the audience.
I explained different racing types in this tournament and league. I explained the league itself and its dominance outside of Japan. I even explained what kind of tournament this was and the grades of tournaments that existed. Which I only learned the day before, but it got people's attention. I then spoke saying," First up is the relay on turf our favorite here in Japan with a mile distance with regular rules or flat race rules according to them."
I continued saying," Now the first one up is Agent Ruby." The race began and boom. Next thing I knew I was screaming," Oh my goddesses what did I just see!" My viewers were freaking out and my viewer count exploded. I saw that every broadcast was exploding. Everyone was in shock at what they saw this was a whole new level of greatness.
My viewership has never been this huge, and I'm being informed this is only a few people outside the streaming underground and my loyal audience. They kept going and growing, but that's when my stream collapsed. What the fuck I looked at what happened and called Digitan. She told me," I was afraid this would happen." I asked her what was going on. She told us the legal sites are all being taken down and only the chat groups and illegal sites are left.
I soon directed my audience there and I asked Digitan why this was happening. She told me," Simple my lovely shark girl, competition. The reason the FSRL and its races have never shown up in Japan in a major way is because this country is NRL territory and with the support of the Gold Family Mafia they're in control." She told me how she and her team were fighting to fight it and how the Bloody Broncos are the first Japanese team to break that status quo. With Tresen protecting her from them and her connections she was fine, but I should play like someone who was tricked into broadcasting this to keep myself safe.
This was frustrating, and after seeing such a performance I was in on supporting this league and this team. She then told me," Time to restart your broadcast and start plan B." I then did just that and started acting dumb. It was sad that the audience wasn't there anymore, but what no one knew was that I was recording the tournament on a second screen to watch later. I gotta see how this ends, and maybe ask Digitan to help me watch all tournaments from now on.
