Endless Journey and Author POV:
It was after the meeting and I had so many questions. Gray, Lily, and I left and celebrated by going to a Korean BBQ restaurant to celebrate. The increase in our appetites as Uma Musume and salaries made the night an enjoyable one. Lily soon expressed that she was feeling guilty for taking the spot from Steel. Gray soon told her," Girl, you ain't stealing anything from that muscular crybaby, you're just being sold to everyone as the strongest."
Lily then replied," I'm just a lie being told then?" Gray spoke saying," Yup, but you're forgetting some things, like one you're the team's currently ranked second strongest, and we're all lying to protect each other. You all need to understand how devastating counter-strategies can be. It can be from in-game tricks to holding people's families hostage. Remember Sonny Liston and the phantom punch, yeah not so fun when the ones you care about are in danger. This plan protects us from not only risking our identities, but also prevents headhunters from causing chaos within the teams by offering and taking players not knowing who's strong and who we're hiding."
She soon continued saying," I support this idea, and I texted Spice, Vic, and Norn to explain this to the others. We're in the big time now, I promise I'll watch your back can you promise you'll watch mine?" Lily and I looked at Gray and nodded, we were convinced, and I hope the others were able to be convinced as well. We had a tender moment of bonding and soon the party ended. We all soon got back to our rooms and after some prep, I went to bed.
I do this now because of both my boss and my girlfriend. My research has been slowed down because of this, but since in their words I've been killing myself slowly I decided to get myself some sleep. While trying to sleep I wondered a lot of things. Why did GW stop crying and suddenly change her mind about wanting to quit the team during camp after hearing about the threats? Why does the Gold family sound familiar to me, and why do I feel nothing when seeing the huge advancements in technology in this world even though originally I loved seeing these things?
There are so many things I want to know. I soon fall asleep, but soon I hear a voice ask," Then let me answer them for you." I open my eyes and I find myself in an infinite white space. There I find the voice coming from a floating white figure with no form whatsoever, it reminded me of the god in FMA. He smiled and spoke saying," Hello Jo, KiWi has told me so much about you, I visited you last when I helped you trap her in a sarcophagus and I blocked your connection with your inner world." I understood now this was the author and this must be my dreamscape, the one KiWi told me about.
He smiled saying," Correct my genius character I am, and yes this is your dreamscape." You can hear my thoughts huh, guess this saves me time saying anything to you. Now before you answer my previous questions I have to ask why you did this in the first place and why you chose us to go into this world? He smiled saying," Well for your first question when I first started writing your story there was a lack of Uma Musume stories outside of romance shipping bull crap in the American market even though the game just became global. I made my own and soon everyone followed suit, true story."
He looked proud of being a trending setter and continued speaking," Why I chose you, easy I was looking for 15 dominant racing athletes in different worlds like earth, that were already dead by the way, and use them for my story." I was speechless what did he mean we were already dead? He then explained," Oh yeah I deleted those memories before I reincarnated you so you didn't have any trauma from dying. You see all of you were already dead, let me reveal to you how. Vic died from a car accident, and Mama died from a heart attack."
He soon created visual bubbles showing both their deaths. He soon continued," Gray died by being murdered by someone whose life she destroyed to win, while Rose died from a jealous crazy fan girl. GW died peacefully from old age, and Rain died from a hurricane. Next up is Lily who died from malaria she got from a mosquito, and Steel died from his religious brother poisoning him after learning he was transgender and gay telling him why he was alone thinking he could trust his brother. Moving on ImP died from a failed stage dive landing on his neck killing him, and Spice died from a shooting by a person he considered his brother no less."
He showed me all of their deaths and continued," BlaD died from a drug overdose, which I had to cleanse from his soul by the way, and Sweets died from blunt force trauma to the head as a truck ran her over. You died from overwork, and Norn from hypothermia as she was hiking in a mountain. Finally, KiWi died in a plane crash he caused by going insane in said private jet. Yeah, some of you died so awfully I had to do that to make sure you had no trauma from those deaths." He showed me the rest and I understood he was kinder than I had thought.
I looked at him continued our conversation, thanks for that it makes me want to follow KiWi's and the boss's advice. Now please answer what's going on with my team? He smiled answering," Since you asked so kindly I'll tell you. You see Jo you 15 weren't the only ones that were dead, the Uma Musume you possessed and the names you took also died and I used their empty shells to put your souls in." What, that's impossible!
We all looked none of these bodies had identities before, and only thanks to the items we woke up with were we able to learn our names. He then smiled at me saying," Yeah you're welcome by the way." I then realized who gave us those identities and paperwork, it was all him. You killed 15 people just to write a story and post it in your world's version of the internet? He then replied," No, all Uma Musume are protected from other supernatural beings by the three goddesses, and the rest are protected by the CG the god creator of this multiverse."
My rage quickly cooled, then explain how you found 15 dead bodies all at the same karaoke joint and what happened to us. He smiled saying," Oh I just followed the original King Wild who could not sense me yet. You see the original was a time traveler, I know crazy, who escaped from the apocalypse. Thanks to her causing trouble for some other time traveler she was sent to the karaoke joint where everyone would die in the timeline. Everyone died, because it was a setup by the Gold Family as a death event of those who made enemies or could not pay off their debts."
He soon continued saying," You see Uma Musume are hard to kill because of how strong they are compared to humans, and then theirs protection by the governments who worship them and the three goddesses who bless them. The event was invented by the Gold family who made it to easily deal with Uma Musume, whom they needed dead. They make it look like an accident to the government and since it was created by an Uma Musume it can't be stopped by the goddesses. I found all this out way later, but back then once you all died from poison gas I quickly told the goddesses about this and they approved my plan for you girls and saving you. I was allowed to mess with those assholes who by that time already deleted your identities and to delete any records of your existence."
He soon continued," I possessed the entire clean-up crew dressed like the Karaoke staff and soon I inserted the souls in their new bodies and left 15 bags for each of you. Once you loudly awoke I waited 5 minutes before kicking you out of the establishment and soon I altered the crew's memories as I did yours. I called their boss and reported the job was done and once you were safe I altered the cameras and now your killers think you're dead. Now it seems GW and a lot of you are connected to the Gold family which the goddesses won't reveal to me so that's a surprise for me and everyone in the future. Also, the little girl you saw with the horse is the original body's owner who was saved by the goddess and they said once all three of your souls are one, you can unlock true power."
I was fucking speechless at all the information that was just revealed to me. I see now things truly have gotten interesting. Still, why would you tell me this, wouldn't it be a threat to your story if I reveal this to the team? He smiled saying," Go ahead, currently people see you as kind of crazy anyway, for dating KiWi, and if you say the same things she's already announcing they'll think she's rubbing her crazy on to you." Plus if they know I think it might make my story even greater. Now let's begin this journey that never happened.
Then before leaving I remembered something. Hey Author can I ask you why you had to seal my ability to access the zone? He answered," Oh the combination of your two existences changed the body of the host. It changed to fit your soul, that's why the body's abilities closely resemble your past lives. Now combine that with the DWF's training and the added boost from the past live's abilities that were already there, and you were already a threat."
He continued saying," Now add Zone and beyond once you access the remnant soul's ability you can probably achieve something greater than Zone. Now that would ruin my story making you all too overpowered to have any foe threaten you." Remnant soul, do you mean the little girl I saw when I was meditating?" He answered," Yessir that little girl was what was left of the former owner of your body who was saved by me. With only its soul tied to your soul as a tether to the world."
He soon smiled in a kind way saying," You, the original owner, and the horse are now one person. Once the timer is finally gone, treat EnJo well okay. Yes, I did just combine the first parts of their names to name them. Except KiWi who owns that privilege, so I named the little soul, Wild-Chan." I see thanks for the info, see you whenever.
He nodded back saying," Yup, see you. I got a meeting with the three goddesses and CG. Also, if I get any more info I'll visit you again." That would be wonderful. Soon awoke and I might need to talk to KiWi.
