Fizz looked very pleased with herself.
The gods remained wisely silent. Then the playful expression disappeared from her face. The change was immediate.
When Fizz spoke again, her voice carried throughout the throne hall.
"Everyone return to your positions. I want complete reports from every active front. Fleet movements, lost cities, enemy ranks, supply lines, artifact losses, and civilian evacuations. I want everything."
The gods stood together.
"Yes, Lady Fizz."
She looked across them.
"The War of the Gods will not be won while all of you sit here listening to old stories."
One young god near the back looked disappointed.
Fizz noticed immediately.
"You."
The young god froze.
"Yes, Lady Fizz?"
"You wanted to know what happened after John returned to the capital?"
He nodded carefully.
Fizz smiled.
"I will tell you when I am free."
Several gods nearby immediately became interested again.
Fizz raised one finger before any of them could ask questions.
