-CHAPTER 22-
-FUSHIGURO MEGUMI POV-
Both of us charged at each other but it was clear as day to me that the tiger was vastly superior to me as I had trouble even seeing its movements.
But despite that, I could fight it because of- "GAMA!" I yelled in urgency when I saw that I would not be able to dodge the tiger's burning paw-fist.
I watched almost in slow motion as I was moved, and was barely able to dodge it with help of Gama's black tongue. Yet despite that the claw had sizzled my left cheek, leaving it to bleed.
As I wiped it I considered my options. Rabbit Escape isn't going to be of much use in this fight unfortunately… Maybe they could help… with that though I commanded the shadowy frog. "Gama, watch my back."
"Roar!" The tiger roars as if reminding me of its existence.
Like it was even possible to ignore a five meter tall burning tiger.
-and with that I charged at the tiger as it circled back and threw a kick. I deflect throwing a punch and jab. Then he throws a sidekick meeting my blows. And on it went...
BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM!
I punched the tiger's tough skin, my hits unable to provide much damage, as Rabbit Escape and Gama provide support while-
"Ugh!" I coughed blood as the tiger's burning fist almost goes through my chest (burning my T-shirt to ashes), being saved by Gama. But at that moment I saw an opportunity. While the Tiger was jumping towards me, not letting me escape its hit-
I smirked as I pointed my fingers at it and swiped once, firing dozens of Abyssal Slashes instantly. Atleast of mid-level strength.
The past month one thing has become clear to me… I didn't need to move my finger more than once to fire off multiple slashes, just once was enough.
"ROAR!" The tiger roars in pain as for the first time in this fight, it has been injured and severely at that too. But unfortunately, the injuries didn't seem to be much of an obstacle to it as it once again charged at me but this time in blind rage.
"KEKEKEKEKEKE!"
-Unfortunately for the beast Shikigami, Rabbit Escape being the absolute menace that he was quickly seizes the tiger's weakness swarming over it in a big wave of thousands of rabbits and fully surrounding the Tiger as it tries to escape, burning and destroying through many of them as they keep multiplying and trying to burrow into his chest, using their nightmarish mouths to their advantage.
Even if the Rabbit Shikigami's plan didn't seem to be working very well- as he was pretty much getting destroyed -he had provided me with essential time to heal myself. I held out a handsign in the shape of a deer's head but only partially summoned. "[Madoka]"
I didn't want Madoka dying here, and it would be an easy prey for the tiger Shikigami. So partial summoning it was. I thought as I felt the weight of the deer settle on my shoulders as a three dimensional shadow appeared behind me in the shape of Madoka. The Shikigami touches me with her nose healing my severely injured legs and body- though my hands were perfectly fine because of my Curses Tool.
Fuck you Gojo! My taste in weapons IS good! But all jokes aside, it was time to end this fight as I had learnt everything I could from this Shikigami. Unfortunately, I couldn't really use Abyssal Sword (my pillar of darkness attack) because it would take 3 seconds to charge and in that time the tiger would easily kill me. And Madoka's shield needs time to charge… even more time than Abyssal Sword.
And judging from it not using the paralyzing attack again, it was a fair bet to say that it can only use the attack once.
Then I got an idea.
If it loves fire so much then… I held out a handsign in the shape of an elephant's head and intoned. "[Bansho]" and as the enormous pink Shikigami is summoned in front of me, he immediately understand what he should do, instantly charging up its signature attack and pointing it at the horde of -
"NEIGH!"
Just as the enormous elephant fired its beam at the horde of Rabbit Escapes- there were so many of them that we were unable to see the tiger at all- I quickly unsummoned the rabbit Shikigami providing a clear target for the elephant to strike…
SPLASH!
WOOOOOSH!
And strike it did.
A gigantic beam of water is fired straight at the confused Tiger, whose eyes widen at the last minute as the water hits it.
BAM! The tiger, showing its immense strength, still manages to put up a struggle against the tidal beam of water, but what it could not struggle against was that its immensely strong fire… was soon extinguished by the continued beam of water.
My smile widens seeing that and not wasting even a moment, I quickly summon. "[Nue]"
"Screech!" The owl-like Shikigami is summoned directly behind the struggling tiger that is unable to react when it is hit by the electric wings of the car sized Nue, multiple times.
SPARK! SPARK! SPARK! SPARK! SPARK!
CRACKLE~!
BUT! Despite taking so much damage, the tiger still doesn't go down. Roaring in defiance despite its half paralyzed body.
"ROARRRR!"
And that- that just makes me want the Shikigami more! I once again hold a handsign- unsummoning Bansho- and summon. "[Kangyu!] LET'S FINISH THIS!"
The enormous truck sized, bright red furred bull come charging out from behind the tiger, who is unable to react because of its paralysis, piercing the tigers chest with its mighty horns as it cries out in pain, while the bull bellows as he runs directly towards me, the ground shaking with his charge. "ROAR!"
I smile, dashing towards the bull Shikigami and the Tiger, whose eyes widen in anger as it sees me charging towards it while being weakly hoisted by Kangyu's horns.
I jumped forwards, straight towards the hoisted tiger, when there was only a few feet between us. Both the tiger's and my eyes meet and both widen as we see both of us charge our fists towards each other in a final blow.
Sizzle~!
-But at the last moment, the tiger's sharp nails ignite with fire as it aims straight for my head. "ROAR!" I dodge but only succeed partially as the tiger is able to slice through and burn three straight lines on my face- from my forehead to my cheek with its sharp burning nails –missing my eyes by a centimeter.
"AGH-!" I couldn't help but yell in pain despite myself.
But I still stayed strong, fully focused on the opening the Tiger had provided me by attacking as I finally touched the tiger's skin, its chest and fur- unburnt despite lighting itself on fire but injured from my slashes earlier -with my palms and I smiled through the pain as I said. "Welcome to the team."
"ROA-!"
SLICE! An enormous slash of darkness exited the shadows of my palms at point blank range-
-And instantly, the tiger was bisected in half amidst its own roar, not even being able to comprehend what had happened to it.
And as I landed back on the destroyed ground- Kangyu soon circled back and nuzzled me with his face as I patted and scratched him in his favorite spots –I couldn't help but chuckle at another successful taming session.
CLINK!
-"HAHAHAHA!" My chuckles soon turned to laughter when I felt another Shikigami finally become available to me. But despite my win I was tired, so I soon dropped down on the floor alongside my still-summoned Shikigami – and was soon surrounded by them while Madoka (now fully summoned) helpfully healed me.
Though I don't think she'll be able to heal the scars from the fire… they were made of CE after all and those kinds of scars are especially harder to heal… But after thinking about it a bit, I shrugged. Eh, it doesn't matter and scars look cool anyway.
Plus I had many of them after fighting and taming all of my nine Shikigami.
After that though, I unsummoned them after giving all of them a personal goodbye. They were literally my strength after all and I loved spending time with them.
And my CE reserves were only half empty this time! Not to mention how my hand-to-hand combat training was clearly working! I smiled as the fruits of my labor were finally showing, before putting a hand into my shadow and taking out Sukuna's Finger.
So comparing just the CE amount in this finger… Right now I have just a little more CE than a 5 finger Sukuna. Of course this did not mean that I could defeat a 5 finger Sukuna, just that I had an equivalent amount of CE to him.
Compared to a month ago I have increased my CE reserves by a finger equivalent of CE. I guess those spars with Gojo were paying off... Plus I hadn't used my CE much this past month, or else it would have been much more especially if I went on more and harder missions.
Unfortunately using CE reinforcement against my classmates would be overkill so our spars mostly focused on technique rather than brute force.
I guess I'll have to request some solo missions that were at least a little hard.
I sighed, despite coming such a long way I still had a long road ahead of me if I ever wanted to stand against the titans of the jujutsu world.
But as Rocky once said… one step at a time, one punch at a time and one round at a time.
Then I looked down at my half-nude form. The fiery attacks from my newly tamed Shikigami having almost burnt up all of my clothes. At moments like this I really am glad that I keep spare clothes and a few essential supplies in my shadow…
And honestly, a few hundred grams of weight didn't even make a difference to me at this point.

I realise that a few people do complain about the occasional Japanese words in this story but in my defence it is genuinely way easier to fast-type "Kangyu" than "Piercing Ox". Of course I can call him just Ox but then... He is no normal Ox either y'know? So you'll just have to think of it as nicknames that Megumi gives to them.
