Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 200

The 160 ice blocks brought them 8,800 pesos, while the 2.5 tons of tube ice brought them 6,875 pesos.

Overall, they made 15,675 pesos. After subtracting the daily expenses of about 1,000 pesos, their net profit was 14,675 pesos.

Gustavo excitedly tallied the purchases, which Karlos read carefully. Brandon and Andres also listened in, but since math wasn't their strong suit, they made sure to take their copies of the records home later.

"I'm thinking of hiring two more workers. I realized that Wendell and Emer can only work from 3 am to 11 am before they reach their limits. However, the machines are still running, and it takes at least two people to operate them and carry the ice to the storage room."

"With our potential profit, I don't see a problem," Karlos agreed.

Once the four confirmed the profitability of the ice shop, they decided to celebrate by cracking open a few cold, refreshing beers... Maya witnessed the entire scene and sighed in defeat.

She left the cookies on the table for them to eat, leaving it up to them whether they saved any for Wendell and Emer. It was no longer her concern.

She took the kids back to the house, but before they could even get there, the twins reminded her that they wanted to play with their friends at the beach.

Maya didn't really want to let them go. The kids had been bringing sand into the house for the past two days, and she couldn't tolerate the mess anymore.

However, the twins burst into tears, forcing her to relent... She realized just how important it was to have Karlos around to pacify the children in these situations.

In the end, she took them to the beach. She strictly warned them not to dirty their clothes, but the sandy terrain was tricky to walk on, and the children stumbled and fell a few times.

Whenever that happened, Maya would immediately rush over, filled with concern. She checked their skin and sighed in relief after realizing they weren't hurt. Arabella and Iñigo just giggled as they ran around with the other small children.

Watching their interactions, Maya couldn't help but feel a surge of emotion. Just a few months ago, they still needed baby walkers. But now, they were running around and having fun with their friends. Her two children were growing up so well... If not for their dirty appearance, it would be even better.

The twins curiously approached the shore as a wave came rushing in. They giggled and scrambled away from the incoming water. Maya watched them intently, she knew how easily children could drown in the sea.

There was a time in Maya's childhood that she touched a venomous jellyfish and her parents reprimanded her a lot.

By the time the sun had set, the twins were filthy, with Arabella practically covered in sand. As for Iñigo, mostly just his lower half was dirty.

"I thought you didn't like being dirty. Why do you have sand on you too?" Maya asked her son, who merely offered a sweet smile in return. He had a lot of fun today, the sun didn't bother him.

Looking at Iñigo, Maya realized that her son would grow up to be handsome, just like his father.

She kissed Iñigo's forehead and praised him. She was proud of him.

"You are the least dirty, so you deserve a reward from Mama."

"Mama, me too! Kiss!" Arabella wanted a kiss as well... But since even her hair and forehead were covered in dust, Maya simply patted her head.

"If you aren't dirty after playing tomorrow, I'll kiss you too," Maya chuckled.

Arabella promised that she would do better the next day.

When they returned home, Maya found that Karlos was already preparing dinner. She could smell the alcohol on him, though she knew she couldn't do much about it anyway.

"Brandon and Andres stayed at the ice shop to help carry the ice to storage. I helped them out for a bit, but I excused myself when I remembered I promised to cook for you guys."

True to his word, Karlos prepared fried chicken and burgers for dinner.

"Tomorrow, let's go grocery shopping. Our meat stocks are nearly depleted."

"...Babe, I love you," Maya muttered, wrapping her arms around him in a hug.

Maya genuinely loved going to the grocery store and picking out items. She couldn't explain it, but grocery shopping was one of her favorite activities, especially when money was no problem, allowing her to buy whatever she wanted. It felt therapeutic.

"I love you too." Karlos could tell that Maya was feeling stressed, so he offered her a way to unwind.

"I'll get the coupons ready," Maya grinned. She had coupons worth 300 pesos, which would save them some money.

That night, Karlos took on the duty of bathing the children in warm water. He had to admit, this chore was quite a hassle.

"Kids, if you don't get dirty tomorrow, I'll take you to Jollibee on Sunday."

"Weally, Papa?" Arabella asked excitedly.

"Have I ever lied to you?"

"Yay!"

The next day, after fishing, the whole family went to the biggest grocery store in town to restock their monthly supplies. They usually shopped for groceries here once or twice a month.

The children were having a blast riding inside the shopping cart that Karlos was pushing. Maya led the way and selected what to buy. She browsed through the entire aisle of canned goods... She didn't particularly care for preserved foods, but looking at all the grocery products made her feel great. She only picked up a few cans of corned beef and green peas.

They then moved on to the snack section. When the twins saw the aisle filled with cupcakes and chocolates, they immediately began to salivate.

"Ma! Dis wan!" Arabella pointed at a delicious-looking bag of brownies.

"This one?" Maya picked up the brownies and checked the price tag.

"50 pesos for 10 pieces of brownies!?" She gasped in shock.

"It's not that bad, right?" Karlos asked, confused by her reaction.

"It's expensive! I can bake 20 large pieces for the exact same price," Maya stated proudly. Now that she had a fully equipped kitchen, she felt completely confident in her baking and cooking skills. She had read countless cookbooks and watched dozens of videotaped cooking shows to refine her techniques.
