Chapter 25 - Chapter 24: Bonds Forged in Calm

The morning sunlight spilled across the Occult Research Clubroom, warm and golden, cutting through the lingering shadows of last night's tension. Christopher Thomas Green stood at the head of the room, hands loosely folded behind his back, eyes scanning a gathering of students, allies, and a few new arrivals.

"Mostly awake?" he asked, his voice calm with a trace of teasing.

Issei rubbed his eyes, groaning. "Mostly… I think. But ready, I guess."

Asia hovered near, clasping her hands nervously. "Everyone must understand their role. No one can be left unprepared."

Christopher's lips curved into a faint smile. "Mostly correct. Each of you has a place. Mostly calm, mostly coordinated… and mostly alive. Also mostly fun if you survive my training."

Rias' crimson gaze met his with approval. "Your presence anchors everyone. Especially with the new members arriving, your calm demeanor and guidance are essential."

He glanced toward the shadows at the back of the room. Six figures lingered quietly, observing: Runeas Gremory's regal posture, Coriana Andrealphus' calculating gaze, Kuisha Abaddon's sharp focus. Raynare's wings flexed softly behind her, hinting at a tentative alignment. Katerea Leviathan's aura shimmered with elemental calm, and Aika Kiryuu watched carefully, poised to act.

"Mostly observing… mostly ready," Christopher murmured.

The session began with warm-up exercises, but these were far from ordinary. Christopher had designed them to test coordination, observation, and trust.

"Issei," he called, "pair with Asia. Mostly controlled energy bursts. Try not to blow the ceiling this time."

Issei grinned. "Mostly safe… mostly effective. Got it!"

Asia nodded, a small laugh escaping her lips. "Mostly careful, mostly supportive. I'll guide you."

Energy sparked, flowed, and collided, but under Christopher's watchful eyes, even mistakes became lessons. Nel twirled through the air with laughter. "Mostly thrilling!"

Koneko intercepted misfired strikes with practiced precision. Runeas, Coriana, and Kuisha guided their respective teams with subtle corrections. Raynare hesitated at first but adapted. Katerea's aura stabilized energy fluctuations, while Aika quietly whispered timing adjustments.

Christopher observed, a faint smirk tugging at his lips. "Mostly effective, mostly coordinated, mostly a team."

After warm-ups, he moved to simulated combat drills. Teams were formed carefully to mix old and new members:

Team Alpha: Issei, Asia, Koneko, Runeas

Team Beta: Rias, Akeno, Nel, Coriana

Team Gamma: Katerea, Kuisha, Raynare, Aika

"Mostly controlled aggression," Christopher said. "React to patterns, anticipate strikes, communicate constantly. Humor optional, but highly recommended—mostly to prevent panic."

The room erupted in motion. Energy pulses collided, wings flexed, and spells intersected in choreographed chaos. Christopher's calm presence kept the teams anchored.

"Issei—mostly aim at the left, not the ceiling!" he called, ducking a stray burst.

Asia corrected him mid-flight. Nel laughed, spinning through the air. "Mostly fun!"

Runeas coordinated Alpha silently, Coriana refined Beta's flow, and Kuisha kept Gamma precise. Raynare adjusted slowly, Katerea smoothed energy surges, and Aika subtly corrected timing.

Every strike, every dodge, every laugh, was a lesson in trust and coordination. Christopher's calm humor kept panic at bay and confidence growing.

Hours later, the teams regrouped, breathing heavily but proud. Christopher's gaze swept over them, faint pride in his eyes.

"Mostly effective. Mostly coordinated. Mostly alive… and mostly learning," he said softly.

Rias stepped forward, voice steady. "The new members are integrating. Your calm presence, humor, and subtle guidance… it builds trust that is rare even among devils."

Christopher tilted his head. "Mostly trust, mostly cooperation, mostly fun. Build on that, and everything else becomes predictable."

Issei nudged him. "Mostly fun, huh? You really like making training entertaining."

"Mostly entertaining… mostly instructive," Christopher replied, smirking.

Outside the clubroom, the sun dipped low, casting elongated shadows across the grounds. Christopher walked among the students and new allies, quietly correcting posture, redirecting minor mistakes, and offering encouragement.

Katerea smiled faintly. "You calm everyone, even in chaos. It's… unusual."

He glanced at her. "Mostly calm, mostly controlled, mostly funny… mostly effective."

Raynare tilted her head, wings folding lightly. "You truly are… different. Calm yet commanding, humorous yet sharp."

Christopher shrugged. "Mostly human… mostly myself… mostly someone who wants everyone to survive."

Nel bounced nearby. "Mostly awesome!"

Rias rested her hand lightly on his shoulder. "Mostly perfect… in the way that matters."

He exhaled slowly, gazing at the horizon. "The waves are coming. We've prepared… mostly. Together, mostly… unstoppable."
