Ethan bit the wax seal off the vial. He did it so harshly that the red wax cracked between his molars and split into two crumbling halves. Uncomfortable, he spat the wax out to the side.
The contents were a power that had a similar color to a bone, looking incredibly dry to consume.
But Ethan had no time to be picky; he didn't have water or time to find one. He just had to make it work somehow and let his saliva be enough to melt it down.
He tipped the tube up and poured the powder into his mouth. The taste of it flooded the insides of his mouth in no time.
Hot, chalky, a little bit sweet and… something else.
Something bitter, hiding and smelling very familiar.
Ah, that's it.
It tasted like when one walked inside a slaughterhouse. Like freshly drawn blood, dried into a powder and mixed into the concoction to hide it.
