In the East Blue, about forty-five minutes away from the legendary treasure island, is the aftermath of a huge battle. It's by far the biggest battle in the East Blue this year. It all started an hour ago, when two navy ships attacked a pirate ship. More specifically, the pirate ship they started attacking is the black cat pirate ship, although it was. However, with the advantage of two ships against one, the black cat pirates made the battle look easy and defeated them within thirty minutes. Unfortunately for the black cat pirates, that's when their real ordeal began.
After the battle between the black cat pirates and the navy, the pirates were in the middle, looting both navy ships, when they came under attack from an unknown ship. At first, they believed it was a third navy ship. Still, soon they found they were under attack from a small pirate ship. On that pirate ship, their Jolly Roger was unknown. The captain of the Black Cat Pirates made it a habit to study all pirate crews and their Jolly Rogues, especially those that reside in the East Blue. Yet, he didn't recognize that one.
It was extremely clear to Captain Kuro that the pirate ship that was currently attacking them belonged to a newly gathered pirate crew trying to build their reputation by tearing down his crew's reputation. Him starting to be weary of the pirate life did not take them seriously he chose only to send Nyaban brothers to deal with the incoming pirates and normally that would've been enough to finish a newly assembled pirate crew but unbeknownst to them the pirate ship that was currently attacking them was the up-and-coming Spade Pirates that made a mess of goat island a small island which was a haven for criminals especially pirates but was defeated by two guys who called themselves the spade pirates.
As soon as they left Goat Island, the navy from Yotsuba Island mobilized immediately to attack Goat Island, and what they found was extremely shocking: almost every pirate was banged up and knocked out. When the pirates from Goat Island were being questioned by the navy, they did exactly as ordered by the captain of the Spade Pirates. They explained everything that had happened and told the navy about the captain of the Spade Pirates, Captain Ace; the first mate, Pirate Hunter Zoro; and the newly added crew member, Iron Club Alvida. When the Navy heard this, they sent a message to every branch on the East Blue about a potential new threat: the Spade Pirates.
Thinking the problem was solved, Captain Kuro went back inside to lie down a bit. As soon as he was about to close his eyes, his ship was attacked by a cannon fire he immediately got up and picked up his cat claws to go and fight and as soon as he got out something unimaginable was happening his crew was losing badly the Nyaban brothers were knocked out cold the only person in his crew currently putting up a decent fight was his first mate Jango but even he didn't last long.
"Well, would you look at that, if it isn't great, Captain Kuro, your reputation precedes you, sir; it's an honor to meet you."
"Who are you? I've never seen your mark before, and yet you've made quick work of my crew."
"My name is Portgas D. Ace, and I'm the Captain of the Spade Pirates, and these guys are my crew members again. It's a pleasure to meet you after the fact."
