Chapter 464 - Chapter 459: Another Miracle

As Zhang Ba was speaking with Old Guo , their conversation was suddenly interrupted by hurried footsteps.

A young boy, Little Ren, came running toward them, panting heavily as he tried to catch his breath, his face was filled with urgency as he spoke, "Old Guo, I saw Lin running toward the backside of the mountain."

Old Guo's expression changed immediately. "Huh… that area is wilderness."

He instinctively turned his head and looked toward the horizon. The sun was already setting, its last rays casting a dim orange glow over the village.

"It will be night soon…" he muttered, his voice carrying a hint of worry.

Zhang Ba did not hesitate. His face hardened as he said firmly, "I'll bring her back. It's dangerous in the wilderness at night."

Without wasting another moment, he rushed out, with several villagers following behind him to assist in the search.

As the sun completely dipped below the horizon, darkness enveloped the surroundings, however the search did not stop.

It was a cloudy night and the darkness felt heavier than usual.

Villagers lit torches, their flickering flames barely pushing back the encroaching night. The light swayed with every step, casting distorted shadows that made the wilderness seem even more unsettling.

Zhang Ba moved deeper, his breathing growing uneven. Each passing moment tightened the grip around his heart.

'My daughter…'

Just as despair was beginning to take hold—A voice called out softly from the darkness.

"Papa…"

Zhang Ba's body froze.

He immediately looked toward the source of the voice.

Not far away, on a small mound, a faint silhouette of a little girl could be seen standing in the darkness.

Before Zhang Ba could react, another figure holding a torch moved faster and reached her first.

The flickering light illuminated the scene.

The person bent down and quickly picked Little Lin up into their arms.

"Lin…" The voice trembled.

Little Lin lowered her head slightly and whispered in a small voice, as if she had been caught doing something wrong, "Mother…"

The woman held her tightly, her body trembling as tears streamed down her face. "I thought I lost you…"

Her voice broke as she spoke, the fear she had been suppressing finally spilling out.

Then, she pulled back slightly and looked at Little Lin, her expression turning stern despite the tears still in her eyes.

"Do you know how afraid I was? How worried I was?"

Little Lin instinctively shrank her neck, her small body stiffening under her mother's gaze. She did not dare to respond.

Zhang Ba finally reached them and gently held his wife's shoulder, trying to calm her rising emotions. "Dear, don't be so angry. I believe Lin has learned her lesson."

He then lowered his gaze toward his daughter and asked in a firm yet softened tone, "Haven't you?"

Little Lin lowered her head and whispered, "I'm sorry…"

Her voice was so soft that it almost melted the remaining anger in the air.

Lin's mother took a deep breath, her expression gradually easing. Although worry still lingered in her eyes, she nodded slightly. "Alright… let's go back."

Old Guo, who had been carrying the tension along with everyone else, finally let out a long sigh of relief. "Good… Lin is safe. That is all that matters. Let's return."

Just as the villagers began to turn around—Little Lin's tender voice suddenly rang out again.

"The Angel Goddess listened to my prayers."

The villagers slowly turned their heads to look at her, their expressions filled with disbelief.

Zhang Ba's brows furrowed, and a hint of anger appeared on his face thinking after all thos time his daughter was creating trouble again. "What nonsense are you talking about…"

However, Little Lin did not retreat this time.

Instead, she raised her head and pointed toward the deeper part of the wilderness.

"It's just back there. If you don't believe me, come and see with your own eyes."

Old Guo stood still for a moment, logically, he knew such a thing was impossible.

Miracles—those were things told in stories, not meant for people like them and yet…

In the depths of his heart, a faint, fragile hope quietly surfaced.

What if—

"…Let's go and see," Old Guo said finally.

The group moved forward cautiously, guided by Little Lin.

As they approached the place she had pointed out, the flickering torchlight began to illuminate the ground ahead.

And then—They all stopped in shock

In front of them, on a small clearing—

Lay a mound of fresh vegetables and fruits.

They were neatly piled, as if carefully placed there, their surfaces glistening faintly under the torchlight.

For a moment, no one spoke.

Then—

A soft sound broke the silence.

Thud.

A melon fell from above.

It landed gently onto the soft grass below, without breaking.

Instinctively, everyone raised their heads.

At that moment, as if responding to their gaze—The thick clouds in the sky slowly parted.

Moonlight spilled down from the heavens, illuminating the scene clearly.

High above in the sky, hundreds of birds were circling in a wide, orderly pattern.

Their movements were strangely synchronized, almost as if guided by an invisible will.

From time to time, one bird would descend slightly, release a fruit from its claws, and then before flying away.

Fruit after fruit—fell from the sky like a silent offering.

But what truly shook their hearts—shape of the drifting clouds under the moonlight resembled a vast silhouette of an angel.

Twelve wings spread wide—as if embracing the land below.

Old Guo's legs gave way as he fell to his knees on the spot, his aged voice trembling with emotion. "Thank you… for this miracle…Angel Goddess... Goddess of Miracles"

(AN: So this was a small demonstration of occasional miracles that Qian Renxue shows. Unlike overwhelming might her power make nobles fear her, because her abilities make it seem being her enemy is like being the enemy of the world)
