It's been a week already and things are plain average, Ellis would keep a low profile and note some stuff from various lessons... Jeff on the other hand was too busy trying to talk to the new transferred students and specifically the girls, after all he wants to score one of them till the end of the year. However their dynamic changed slightly due to one girl in particular... the gray pony tailed with a blank expression across her features. While the boys don't really care too much they can't help it but feel something off putting about their new desk buddy.
Their only interactions are straight and simple, asking for a spare pen or glancing towards each other's notebooks to catch up with the writing, but other than that? nothing else, they don't even bid farewell to one another after the day ends and maybe that's for the best, or at least that's what Ellis thinks. Speaking of Ellis he was currently too busy drawing stickmen fighting in the corner of his notebook bored out of his mind with his side of the head resting in his palm... Jeff was half asleep while Ayano was tapping away at her phone. Ellis did try to sneak peek a little bit but a side glance from her was enough to shut him off without even muttering a sound.
Suddenly the students were snapped out of their thoughts and doings as the bell rang throughout the faculty, the teacher, a young woman close in her thirties sighed in relief as she packed her stuff in a fast yet practiced manner "Alright guys, don't forget that next time we'll have a test, bonus points for those who get good grades~" history teachers... they're either the most unhinged people that will turn the whole class in a military campus or they can be the most wholesome and outgoing people... and this time the students were very lucky.
With a satisfied groan Ellis stretched his limbs, before he could stand up Jeff came out of nowhere and wrapped an arm around his shoulder like a drink buddy "my good ol' pal... I think I found the one" Jeff points at a girl with his look making Ellis groan mentally, out of all the times Jeff could've been a lady killer he chose to do it now "The green haired one..?" Ellis asked quietly as Jeff couldn't help but smirk... that bloody type of smirk that makes you want to throw him out the window no questions asked.
Even though Jeff wanted to talk about girls he suddenly became serious as he turned to Ellis "You know today is friday, which means PE... which means swimming" Ellis was about to snap back but Jeff's words seemingly got through him as his expression sorrowed down real quick. With a soft sigh Ellis stands up "Great... good thing I brought extra bandages with me, I hate swimming classes" for once Jeff had sympathy in his gaze, so he lets go of his shoulders before pointing towards the door "Let's go to the lockers, I'll help you bandage your eye after swimming".
After a short walk throughout the campus the boys eventually reach the locker room, and for once no weird ritual was going off in secrecy, perhaps it's too early in the year to summon spirits. "Hey Jeff do we still have the same PE teacher like last year?" Jeff who was too busy putting on some short halted for a moment, scratching the back of his head lost in thought "From what I know there are no new teachers this year... so we should still be dealing with that annoying Max, he really doesn't belong in a school... more like a supervisor for a working company so he can yell orders until his chords give out".
Quickly putting on some shorts himself Ellis head out of the locker room towards the pool area which was already packed with various students. He still had his bandage on and there's no way in hell he'll remove it, he doesn't want everyone to see the lack of an eye and call him a freak "Damn look at those morons over there" Chims Jeff from behind looking at a group of guys who were too busy trying to drown each other, just your typical swimming exercise...
Looking into the crowd Ellis managed to spot their new desk buddy, Jeff noticed it too before throwing a glace at Ellis "I don't know about you but that girl keeps me the creeps" Ellis scoffs annoyed, he didn't really like Jeff for being so judging about anything in his life, but for once he shares the same sentiment with Jeff "...yeah, me too man". Ayano was sitting on the edge of the pool zoning out, the lifelessness in her eyes was enough to raise a brow from pretty much anybody... but no one really dared to approach and ask her, not even the transferred students which seemingly were in the same class with Ayano before the transfer.
At last she was pretty docile... she had that "Don't mess with me I don't mess with you" look on her face but despite that she was still... odd. "At least she's hot" Ellis face palmed himself as he was once again, for the fifth time today, questioning Jeff's... intelligence "Seriously, dude?" Jeff raised his arms in a mocking surrender "Hey, us men are simple creatures, can you deny it? besides that one piece looks absolutely-" Ellis covered Jeff's mouth before he could drop any bomb, after all the last thing Ellis wants is for Ayano to hear that and get in potential trouble.
Jeff tried to swat Ellis's hand away but Ellis countered with a slap on his own... before they knew it they were already wrestling like their life depended on it. But as universe would have it they quickly stopped seeing the teacher walking in... Mr. Max, with a quite angry look on his face. Max was a unique person, at least in Ellis's eye... he was angry all the damn time, no one ever saw this man smile even once and that includes his colleagues as well. Regardless the man walks up to the students while rubbing his well kept beard, glancing at the pool for a minute or two before locking eyes with the students again.
"I want five laps around the pool, start warming your asses up and get a move on maggots!" although was on the shorter side in terms of size he had a booming voice... which was enough to make some students already jump into the pool and swim as if they're hold at gunpoint... including Jeff. Ellis on the other hand took a slower approach after making sure Max went off yelling at some poor student for not having the right equipment, he would slowly get into the pool and his entire body went rigid for a moment "Why the fuck is it so cold? so much for a inside pool...".
It does take a bit of getting used to the water, Ellis is more of a summer guy he prefers the heat... his body is much more resistant to it than the cold which currently is giving him a run for his body. After getting used to he started to do laps himself at a slower pace as the teacher wasn't yelling at him yet so he allowed himself this luxury. His eye however caught Ayano by coincidence seeing her sitting on the edge of the pool again her hair was wet "...Hold on did she finished the laps already..? how the fuck-".
After finishing his laps Ellis would get out of the cold water wrapping himself in a towel ASAP, he was already shivering lightly and oh boy was he cursing this lesson already. His happiness that the first challenge was over was short lived because the teacher approached him with the same angry look on his face "Ellis, the head council would like to talk to you, go to his office" Ellis was certainly confused, he's sure as hell he didn't do anything unlike Jeff "For what-" Ellis attempted to speak but that was his great mistake, to attempt. Max cut him off as a vein already popped on the man's neck "Didn't you hear what I said? fuck off outside! you're wasting my time".
Having no other choice but to grumble annoyed under his breath Ellis would make his way into the locker room to change into his casual clothes and making sure his new bandage was properly sticking to his head "Man this day just keeps getting worse and worse... first Stephanie start a verbal brawl in class with me now this". Ellis grumbled all the way towards the council office... mentally preparing himself he knocked on the door and soon, a voice rings out "Just a moment... come in" Ellis could heard some ruffling inside but he decided not to question, instead he walked inside and closed the door behind him, looking at the guy behind the desk with disgust in his eyes but tried to hide it.
Behind the desk stood your casual nerd, Anthony... the head member of the council the school has, the most nerdy, unlikeable, punchable student in the entirety of the building. Although many others would absolutely love to manhandle the guy they're not stupid enough to do so, after all Anthony holds a lot of power as the right hand, eyes and years of the headmaster... no matter how little your mistake might be Anthony will instantly snitch it on the headmaster making your life a living hell.
Anthony in question couldn't help but smirk a little seeing another potential pray at his disposal "Ah, Ellis, good day. The reason I called you in here is because apparently you've been cheating in Mrs. Olivia's class" "Cheating? for the love of God I-" Anthony holds his palm out making Ellis eat his own words, his eye twitching in anger already "I don't wanna hear it. You're lucky we're not expelling you off the bat" Anthony stands up and folded his arms behind him, walking towards Ellis with that smug grin on his lips "You know I expected better from you Ellis. As you know punishment is in order".
Of course, a punishment, what did Ellis expect? he was angry yes at the injustice, Ellis just tried to reach for his pencil case underneath the desk but Olivia thought it was the phone... and in usual teacher fashion she allowed Ellis no time for explanation just straight up ripping his paper off, making him grab another and and literally sit him next at her desk during the whole test. At least it was a much better outcome than getting kicked out of the class and or... worse.
"So Ellis, after classes are done I want you to stay and clean" Anthony gestured towards a conveniently well placed mop, broom and some cleaning supplies on a table. Ellis spared them a glance before turning back to Anthony "Afraid your reputation will sink after this one Ellis? well, you should've thought before cheating eh?" the burning inside Ellis's chest intensified as he wanted to punch the smug grin off Anthony's face... but he's better than this, he knows too well the idiot is just trying to get a rise out of him "I could care less about my reputation in this dump, fine, I'll do it, just because I have no other choice" with a satisfied evil grin Anthony smiled "Good choice Ellis, I expect you in my office first thing after the classes are done for today. You're dismissed". Turning on his boot Ellis walks out of the office, rubbing her forehead in rage "This is the last thing I needed today".
