Everyone on the island was searching for the female cultivator named Zixun. You Su and Ji Xueruo headed out, encountering many cultivators with the same goal along the way.
Many opportunists directly attacked Ji Xueruo, thinking that even if she wasn't Zixun, they would subdue her first just in case.
Once, Ji Xueruo even witnessed a murder firsthand. Despite the female cultivator pleading and repeatedly proving that she wasn't the Fairy Zixun—presenting several tokens as evidence—she was still killed by the greedy cultivators in concert.
Their justification was that Zixun would never admit to being Zixun and might even kill another female cultivator to disguise herself.
So they stripped the female cultivator's body bare. Someone even searched her thoroughly, reducing a solitary female cultivator into a mere bloody pulp. They only stopped once they were sure she didn't possess any legacy items.
Even though they had no idea what these legacy items were or what they looked like.
