On a winter night, a cold breeze blew gently, and a crescent moon hung obliquely on the horizon, with a few stars faintly visible.
The reflection of the stars and moon in the pond was outshone by the stunning figures resembling white jade within the pond.
The women in the pool laughed and played, making the pond feel even more serene and quiet.
This was the floral pool on Bihua Peak where the female disciples bathed, but it was not born of soil and stone but atop a giant purple flower.
The stem of this purple flower was as thick as three people could embrace, and the blossom was nearly eighteen feet wide and more than two yards high.
This particularly large purple lotus was a rare variety specially cultivated by the Third Elder, appearing delicate but surprisingly sturdy. Even when the petals wither, they fall away one by one, with new petals quickly replacing them, allowing the flower crown to be like a raised bowl all year round.
