Ilya and her companions had considered these things, but major errors can be corrected in advance. However, issues that arise in the moment require flexibility and adaptation. What they need to do is avoid overlooking any detail, rather than obsessing over perfect planning, scrupulously analyzing every step and word. That would not be improving the story but indulging in wishful thinking.
