Catherine herself lacks a spirit of self-sacrifice but she isn't the kind to ruin others' happiness; she does have that bit of social conscience.

Lynn took advantage of Catherine's words and pointed to his right cheek.
"Eh... I'm helping you train your wife, be glad I'm not asking for benefits, let alone paying extra!"
Hearing Lynn's words, Catherine was immediately indignant, though given Lynn's kindness to her, whatever help she offers him is warranted, but how could she be working for him and still paying extra?
"Well, you can ask for a benefit, like letting me kiss you or something."
