The scene was silent, everyone staring at the gun in Reid's hand, but ultimately the muzzle remained motionless, as if there were no bullets in the chamber at all.
"Empty gun?" someone murmured softly.
"How is that possible..." others immediately refuted, "This isn't some roulette game; I watched him fill the cylinder!"
Fermi squinted, "I'm an official agent of the Mechanism, what you said is nonsense. Is it a barefaced threat?"
"Of course not a threat, it's my most genuine thought." Reid smiled coldly, "Precisely because it's so accurate, the gun wouldn't fire."
"Give me the gun," Abigail said.
She took the gun, pointed it at herself, and pulled the trigger, "I would approve of his method."
The gun still didn't fire.
"Now, it's your turn to prove yourself." Abigail handed the gun over.
"What an absurd farce..." Fermi shook his head in disbelief, as the head of the intelligence team, he certainly understood what the other's "care" meant.
