Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: A Skill That Increases Physique

Yang Bo came out. The Tiger-faced King's side also received the news, but the Tiger-faced King didn't dare to easily send out his men anymore.

Yang Bo had brought the Tiger-faced King psychological trauma. Three times. The first time, he lost his most advanced Biological Mecha. The second time, the Hunting Team suffered heavy casualties. The third time, Blood Bat's three subordinates were killed, and Blood Bat himself was heavily injured; a top general was just gone like that.

The Tiger-faced King even began to suspect his own subordinates. Had someone defected to the Government Army? It wasn't unprecedented in history.

"Hold your positions and observe," the Tiger-faced King finally ordered. He decided to play it safe for now. Moreover, Yang Bo had brought more bombs this time than the last.

A hundred Yang Bos alone wouldn't amount to much. However, with the Rail Cannon positioned tens of thousands of kilometers up in the sky, unless one was an A+ or Advanced powerhouse with special abilities, they would be blasted into dust in minutes.

"Soon. Soon!" The Tiger-faced King looked up at the sky. Unfortunately, all he could see was the stone ceiling of his base. Yet, in his mind's eye, he seemed to envision the Rail Cannon and the Fleet tens of thousands of kilometers above being blasted into fragments.

"When the time comes, I'll pay these scumbags back tenfold. Scumbags." The Tiger-faced King clenched his fists.

Yang Bo proceeded with extreme caution along the way. He turned his radar up to the maximum and kept stopping and going.

He was afraid of being ambushed, ready to toss bombs and run at the first sign of trouble.

The base watched Yang Bo acting so stealthily, feeling that he looked rather sneaky. They were very curious about him.

Yang Bo had stirred up trouble several times. Aside from the incident at the lake, the base had reaped massive rewards from the other two encounters. The fragments of Blood Bat's subordinates had been recovered by the base. They now had plenty to research: Mutant genes and Mutant Mecha fragments. If necessary, they could even use Mutant genes to cultivate exact clones.

However, that would be meaningless, as memories couldn't be replicated—unless they caught a live subject.

Yang Bo also guessed that there was a Rail Cannon or something similar tens of thousands of kilometers up in the sky. He wasn't afraid. Who knew about his ability anyway?

After walking for about ten minutes, Yang Bo's heart ached for his wallet. Because he was entering a mountainous area, he stopped walking and directly activated his Rocket Backpack. With a single leap, he flew from one mountaintop to another. Naturally, his Mecha maintenance fees wouldn't be cheap.

Very few people traveled this way. Most chose external Flying equipment, swooping right to their destinations with a SWISH.

Of course, external equipment cost in-game currency, which meant Credit Points.

The massive cave was nearly twenty meters in diameter. It was said to have once been the nest of a species of giant, social mutated lizards, though it had long since been abandoned.

Right outside the cave entrance lay a wide valley devoid of flora. Supposedly, it had been trampled by the mutated lizards for so long that no plants had grown there for years.

Opening his map, he saw that the game's official team had already explored much of this area. Steeling his resolve, Yang Bo walked right in. The developers probably wouldn't screw him over.

The Underworld was divided into several layers based on depth. The first layer ranged from 100 to 300 meters deep, the second from 300 to 500 meters, and the third from 500 to 700 meters. The deepest point was said to reach over ten thousand meters. However, the second layer was already classified as a danger zone, and the third layer was extremely dangerous.

This danger level was measured specifically for each player. It meant the developers had given this recommendation based on Yang Bo's current comprehensive stats.

"Only a fool would go to the second layer," Yang Bo muttered as he carefully studied the map, locating the bats.

This Underworld was actually connected to the caves and mountain crevices Yang Bo had visited last time. The official description used somewhat uncertain phrasing, suggesting that the entire planet's underground passages might be interconnected.

He cursed, "Damn it, this garbage place actually messes with radar detection." Initially, Yang Bo had wondered why the developers seemed to have so few solutions for this Underworld.

Only after entering did he realize that the Mecha's radar had a very weak signal and limited range here. Straight passages were slightly better, but in the winding, undulating tunnels, the shortest detection range dropped to just a few dozen meters.

"Damn it." Yang Bo clearly saw a flock of bats on the radar, but when he reached the location, he realized he had walked underneath them. He turned back and continued, only to find he had bypassed them again. Finally, just as he was about to reach them, he hit a dead end with only a meter-wide crevice to pass through.

"Whatever," he said. Grabbing a Shock Wave Bomb, he chucked it straight into the crevice.

Then, he ran for his life!

BOOM!

A shockwave surged through the passage, accompanied by a deafening blast.

Sound Wave Control +1!

Sound Wave Control +1!

Disguise +1!

A series of notifications flashed through Yang Bo's mind. Looking closely, he realized he had actually gained dozens of points in Disguise!

Yang Bo checked the radar history and found that there had been a nest of Cave Lizards nearby. They were subterranean creatures that grew up to half a meter long and were widely distributed throughout this Underworld.

"This ability is awesome," Yang Bo praised. He was really looking forward to developing Disguise. Right now, he could alter his muscles. If he leveled it up further, would he be able to change his bone structure, height, and so on?

Of course, the greatest use of Disguise was being able to see through the disguises of others. In a high-tech era, Yang Bo felt that the utility provided by this ability might just be unparalleled.

Overall, though, Yang Bo felt he had taken a loss. His Sound Wave Control had increased by less than a thousand points. Shock Wave Bombs were quite expensive, and more importantly, once he used one, all the bats in the surrounding area would flee.

"Looks like I still need to set up traps." Yang Bo figured he needed to create a baiting zone.

He first took a general stroll around and picked a suitable spot. Then, Yang Bo exited the cave, planning to hunt some larger creatures and drag their carcasses inside. As long as he killed a batch initially, it would attract more—just like when he was fishing back at the lake—allowing for sustainable farming.

Yang Bo swatted a bull to death in one strike with his Plasma Long Saber. He hadn't even used his full strength. After all, the bull was less than two meters tall, whereas his Mecha stood at eight meters and the saber was five meters long.

Charge +1!

Yang Bo hadn't expected the bull to give him this ability.

"Whatever, just kill them first," he thought.

When hunting these bovines, Yang Bo strictly targeted the bulls and spared the cows. There were quite a few of them here. He didn't know their exact species, but they definitely weren't regular water buffalo or cattle. They stood over two meters tall and had three horns on their heads. When they lowered their heads, they looked like massive pitchforks.

Charge, Intermediate (11/100). The reason he killed exactly eleven bulls was to push the Skill to the Intermediate level.

"Such a massive reaction." Yang Bo felt as if the genes in his body were burning. The Power within him was continuously being drained.

He quickly logged off the game, drank some milk, and started charging with electricity.

Half an hour later, Yang Bo was dumbfounded. The process had consumed 50% of his battery! It was worth noting that he had just swapped out a brand-new battery holding 50,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity.

He made a bold guess, "Charge relies on one's own Power to execute. Does that mean this Skill also increases physical constitution?"

"A hundred thousand bulls. Damn it, I don't even know if the whole planet has that many, especially with all these massive danger zones.

"No, I need to start raising cattle," he declared, immediately logging back into the game.

Someone might ask, how does one raise wild cattle? It was simple—kill off all their natural predators. At the very least, he needed to create a safe and comfortable environment for these herds across a large swath of territory.

"If bulls give an ability that increases physical constitution, what about other large animals?" Yang Bo stared at the radar, his eyes practically gleaming.
