The sky of the oil painting canvas was suddenly pierced by an enormous fang, one that looked as though it had been torn from the maw of some colossal snake or mutated beast. It cut through the air at a shocking speed and plunged straight into the fourth star.
There was almost no distance between the two events. In the outside world, a large portion of the Heavenly Vine was simultaneously pierced by an invisible object, as if struck by the same unseen force. The wound left behind was shaped like the sharp curve of a fang, a single deep gouge carved into the Vine's ancient bark.
