Chapter 6: The Meeting Between Mother-in-Law and Daughter-in-Law!
"Nngh—"
The sun rose in the east, marking the start of a brand-new day.
Stretching his limbs, Akira rolled out of bed and went through a simple morning routine to freshen up.
Excluding the time spent traveling between worlds, he had been in the Underworld for several days now, and a lot had happened during this period. For Akira specifically, having traversed three different worlds, his own power had surged drastically.
"My child..."
At that moment, a voice as gentle as flowing water reached his ears.
Akira was momentarily startled and instinctively turned around to look. Lying on his bed was a woman wearing a long white dress. She possessed a pair of exceptionally large breasts—honestly, they were at a level that felt like a cheat code.
Of course, the most striking feature was the pair of large horns, a clear sign that she wasn't human.
"Mother? Why are you here?"
Akira was instantly bewildered. Wasn't Tiamat supposed to be inside the Embryonic World? Akira made it a point to visit her every day, especially before going to sleep at night just to chat with her.
Now, Tiamat had actually manifested in person. Had the Embryonic World collapsed or something?
"With the help of the 'Servant' summoning technique, I have descended into this world in the form of a Servant."
"Huh?"
Akira instinctively looked at the back of his hand. Sure enough, a bright red pattern—a Command Spell—etched itself there.
Furthermore, Akira realized that a connection had been forged between himself and his mother, Tiamat. Normally, a Tiamat descending as a Servant would require a supply of Mana from Akira to maintain her existence.
But who was she? She was the Primordial Goddess of Creation, the Mother of All Life, Tiamat.
She was a mana furnace in her own right, standing at the pinnacle of Heroic Spirits, an Ark of God. For her, mana consumption wasn't even an obstacle.
"Mother, how did you manage to descend here?"
"With the help of the Holy Grail's power, and a little assistance from Kingu."
"Kingu, huh..."
Kingu probably wanted to give him a surprise. After all, when it came to being a devoted child, even Akira couldn't compete with her. That was just who Kingu was—someone who would sacrifice everything for her mother.
Knock— knock—
"Akira-kun, are you awake yet?"
"I'm up, hold on a second..."
Akira instinctively moved to open the door, but the moment he saw Tiamat still on his bed, he froze in his tracks.
After all, anyone who wakes up in the morning and finds a woman tucked under their sheets is bound to think the worst.
Creak—
But at that exact moment, the door was pushed open from the outside.
Rias Gremory, with her vibrant crimson hair, stepped into the room.
"Akira-kun, Sairaorg is here looking for you, so you—"
The moment she stepped inside, her sentence died in her throat.
The scene inside the room shocked her to the core, delivering a direct blow to her senses. There was a woman in her fiancé's room, and judging by her appearance, she wasn't exactly a young girl.
What was the meaning of this? Was she not enough? Was Akeno not enough? Even with so many members of her peerage being various types of beauties, he didn't eat the meat right in front of him and chose to dine out instead?
"Rias, don't get the wrong idea. This is my mother."
"Be quiet! You think I'll believe that? What kind of mother stays under the same covers as her son in the morning?"
"I'm not under the covers, I'm already up."
"Don't think I don't know—you just woke up, you haven't even changed out of your pajamas."
"Alright, fine..."
Akira sighed. The one thing he hadn't wanted to see happen was happening.
Regarding Rias, it would be a lie to say he wasn't interested. After all, she was the main heroine; her face, her figure, and her aura were beyond reproach.
However, the relationship between Akira and Rias was very delicate. Since the beginning, their bond had only reached a stage of slight ambiguity. Because he had agreed to help Rias, he participated in the Rating Game as a support player.
And finally, because he successfully defeated Riser, Akira replaced him as Rias's new fiancé. Akira hadn't rejected the arrangement, and Rias hadn't said anything against it either.
Their relationship had grown much closer in an instant. However, it was stuck in that zone—more than friends, but not quite lovers. They hadn't even truly confirmed an intimate status yet. They just frequently teased each other and lived in that ambiguous space.
"Who are you?"
"Hah? You're asking who I am? I am Rias Gremory, this man's fiancée."
Seeing Tiamat staring at her with total confusion, Rias spoke with a hint of anger. In Rias's eyes, Akira had become a stray cat looking for wild flowers outside.
If it were someone from their own household, like Akeno, Xenovia, Rossweisse, or even Koneko, she wouldn't have said a word. As members of her peerage, they would naturally have the status of 'bridal attendants' in the future. Sooner or later, they would belong to Akira anyway; it didn't make much difference when.
But Tiamat was different. She didn't know her and had never seen her before; this was a sudden appearance.
Not picking the flowers at home but picking wild ones instead—that was what made her angry. Of course, part of the reason was that she herself hadn't been 'taken' yet, but Akira was already looking for other women.
"Hm? Fiancée? Are you Akira's partner? Then you are also my child."
The gentle mother didn't change her demeanor despite Rias's harsh tone; she remained graceful and soft.
This sight instantly stunned Rias; it was nothing like what she had imagined. She instinctively glanced at Akira beside her, only to see his expression turning sour.
"Rias, I told you. This is my mother."
"Is... Is that true...?"
Rias realized Akira's expression wasn't good; it seemed she had actually caused trouble.
"Of course it's true. Why would I lie about something like this?"
"This..."
In an instant, Rias stood there, not knowing what to do. In the early hours of the morning, she had just accused her future mother-in-law of being the 'other woman'? Moreover, her tone just now had been terrible. Would this leave a bad impression?
Squeeze—
Suddenly, Tiamat stood up and placed one hand on Rias's 'breasts,' giving them a light squeeze and a press.
"Kyaa—!"
The move caught Rias completely off guard. Even Akira hadn't expected Tiamat to do something like that.
"Very good. Akira's children won't lack nutrition in the future."
That single sentence left Rias dazed. Then, as the meaning sank in, her face turned a deep, burning crimson.
Was her future mother-in-law a bit of an airhead? And the reason she squeezed her chest was to check its 'rank'?
She instinctively looked toward her 'opponent,' and in an instant, Rias felt defeated. Fundamentally, for Rias at her age, having a size that big was enough to be proud of, but she hadn't expected the other party to be far more terrifying than her.
