Alf had always been calm and silently observing. The 60 year old woman had greyish hair, the black shade of her hair fading by the years and her skin wrinkly.
The old lady adjusted her sitting position as Elena entered the room dragging her legs.
Alf patiently waited for Elena to sit on the couch. Elena kept averting her gaze looking everywhere but avoiding Alf's eyes. Alf clears her throat to get Elena's attention and begins to speak.
Alf, " Elena dear. Ever since I was poisoned, you didn't even visit me once, why is that?"
Elena looked at the old woman then took a deep breath before speaking.
"Grandmother, I didn't want to see you. Do you have a problem?"
Alf " You are angry right. I understand your anger but I don't understand your stupidity."
Elena frowned at her grandmother confused as to what she meant by her sudden statement.
" Grandmother I'm not stupid!", She shouted.
Alf " Physcho, stop screaming, I'm old but I can hear you quite clearly. That innocent woman… what's her name again, OH yeah Mahira. Why did you allow Thane to get her arrested?"
Elena, " Grandmother, I love Fairy but I won't tolerate her trying to kill my loved ones. I can't believe fairy stooped so low and tried to poison you grandmother."
Alf," Do you have any proof that your Mahira Fairy is the one that tried to poison me?"
Elena, " I don't have proof but I'm not stupid. She was the one who prepared the dessert that was supposed to kill you. I don't know what her motive was but I do know that she tried to poison you."
Alf shook her head in disappointment and looked at Elena with questioning eye's. She stares at her for a few minutes and opens her mouth to speak.
" You are even more stupid than I could have imagined. I have lived for so many years. I could see how madly in love that girl is. She really does love Thane. Mahira is a harmless soul. I don't approve of Thane's marriage to Ariana because Ariana only wants this family's wealth. I trust Mahira but now that she's in jail who will protect you and this family from Ariana hmm?"
Elena's eyebrows creased as she gave her grandmothers statement a moment to sink in.
Elena " what do you mean grandmother?"
Alf " it's obvious. I saw Mahira leaving the kitchen. I think she needed to use the bathroom. The poor girl roamed around the whole house looking for the bathroom supposedly . When she came back she didn't even have the chance to put poison because Ariana was in the kitchen. Now think carefully. When Mahira went to the kitchen she didn't even have poison. Even if she got it after going to the storeroom, she doesn't even have enough time to poison the food. Ariana was there and had a chance to poison my food. She even served me."
Elena processed her grandmother's word's then slowly realized that she had falsely accused Mahira.
" Grandmother, I made such a huge mistake. We can't even prove that Fairy is innocent because all the evidence is pointing at her."
Alf " You see child ,I'm very disappointed in you. You spent more time with Mahira and you know how she is but you just let one incident to ruin your relationship with her. I don't know much about Mahira but I know she loves you more than life itself. That girl is willing to give anything just to be part of this family and protect it. I don't understand why you decided to vent your anger on her."
Elena" Grandma, I made such a huge mistake. Please help me. I want to contact Kaashvi. Kaashvi is Mahira's best friend, I'm sure she can help."
Alf smiled. She was glad she managed to knock sense into Elena. With the help of her grandmother, Elena contacts Kaashvi and tells her about Mahira's arrest. Kaashvi was surprised to find out about what had happened. She loved her best friend like a sister and would do anything to protect her .
She assured Elena that she would prove Mahira's innocence and find a lawyer to prove her innocent. The next morning she books a flight to America. As a kpop idol it was quite difficult to convince her boss to let her take another leave and fly to America.
