Chapter 600 - KWM Chapter 597: Hunter and Prey

Ince Zangwill, who had broken through the Corpse Cathedral, did not return directly to the open square in the Dock District, but instead arrived at the foot of a mountain surrounded by light.

Before him were layers of stone steps, winding around the mountain, leading straight to the summit, where a giant cross stood, surrounded and embraced by countless angels.

Rumble! Rumble!

Exaggerated thunder suddenly sounded, and countless silver-white electric lights fell from a higher place, breaking the scene of the mountain surrounded by angels, and returning the surroundings to the open square.

Ince Zangwill's figure suddenly disappeared, leaving only a transparent, blurry spirit in its place, which was struck by the ensuing lightning and instantly annihilated.

Having lost Medici's evil spirit, he no longer possessed the ability to travel through the Spirit World. Just as a feeling of annoyance began to emerge, his vision suddenly darkened for a moment, then returned to normal, as if he had only blinked.

As the former Archbishop of the Church of the Evernight Goddess, a Sequence 4 Nightwatcher, Ince Zangwill keenly noticed the fleeting dangerous aura just now.

The 0-08 in his hand began to write uncontrollably again:

"The unlucky Ince Zangwill has lost the evil spirit within him and no longer possesses the ability to roam the Spirit World, while Anderson, whom he previously regarded as his prey, is waiting nearby to hunt him."

"Due to being affected by the previous battle of those angels, his mental barrier was torn apart, and he was also infected with 'Mental Plague'. His condition is already precarious, and he could collapse into madness at any moment."

"This is an assessment from a professional Psychiatrist!"

"Now the positions of Hunter and prey have been reversed, and things have become interesting. Can the unlucky Ince Zangwill escape the hidden hunt?"

"Hmph!" Ince Zangwill snorted coldly, forcefully pinching the quill that still wanted to continue writing, his gaze sweeping around. He quickly strode away from the dock.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

One by one, crimson-white fireballs streaked through the quiet air, assailing Ince Zangwill.

A whimpering wind suddenly surged from within him, swirling and howling, pushing away the approaching fireballs in mid-air from their original direction.

The crimson-white fireballs struck the surroundings of the open square, raising clouds of dust.

'Admiral Hell' Ludwell appeared silently in the square, his right hand holding an exaggerated pair of scissors that looked like they were used for pruning branches, and his face covered by a cold, silver-white mask.

Ludwell extended his free left hand forward. His arm, forearm, and fingers rapidly dematerialized, expanded, and stretched, reaching out to grab Ince Zangwill.

During this process, his palm quickly turned pale, carrying a strange suction force, pulling and dragging Ince Zangwill's Spirit Body.

Soon, a transparent, illusory figure began to emerge from above Ince Zangwill's head.

An illusory bronze Door rapidly formed in Ince Zangwill's eyes, pulling his Spirit Body, which was about to emerge from his body, back in.

This should have been an easy task for him, being a Sequence 4, but for some reason, he made several mistakes in quick succession, and for a short time, he could only form a tug-of-war with Ludwell.

Anderson looked at the 'Admiral Hell' who had suddenly appeared here with some astonishment, but after seeing him in a tug-of-war with Ince Zangwill, he immediately made a decision. He pushed his hands forward, quickly condensing a group of fire crows around himself, allocating a bit of spirituality to each fire crow, and adding the effects of 'Precision' and 'Cull'.

Crimson-white fire crows traced arcs in the air, striking Ince Zangwill from different directions and angles.

The urgent emotion caused Ince Zangwill to make another mistake during the struggle, and his Spirit Body once again separated a large portion from his body, his body falling into a momentarily dazed state.

Boom!

The fire crow accurately struck Ince Zangwill's chest, blasting open a large amount of flesh and blood. His figure then disappeared in the firelight, leaving only a transparent, blurry spirit in its place, which was engulfed by the flames and quickly turned to ashes.

Ince Zangwill's figure reappeared on the other side of the open square. The moment his figure emerged, an invisible fluctuation spread out somewhat unevenly. The surroundings suddenly darkened, as if night had fallen, and a sense of peaceful tranquility descended with specks of starlight.

Anderson only felt that the emotions and desires in his mind were strangely smoothed out. He became desireless, not wanting to do anything, just standing there in a daze.

Ludwell, who was already a puppet, was not too affected, because Klein, who was manipulating the puppet from the Dark, happened to be outside the range of "Soul Soothe."

Under his manipulation, Ludwell held the giant scissors with both hands and extended them forward, continuously cutting and making clicking sounds.

Silver-white fine blades emerged from thin air where Ince Zangwill was located.

Ince Zangwill suddenly paused for a brief moment. Someone was forcibly trying to pull him into a dream, and although it didn't succeed, it caused him to miss the best time to avoid the attack.

The sound of flesh being torn instantly rang out. The clothes on his neck, chest, and lower abdomen were cut, and crimson blood gushed out.

Klein glanced at Leonard and Danitz, who had arrived via "Spirit World Travel." He decisively had Ludwell throw the scissors in his hand to Leonard, while he himself set up another ritual, preparing to enter the Gray Fog to use the sea god scepter to unleash his most powerful attack.

The moment she saw Ince Zangwill, Danitz's eyes were filled with hatred. She took a few steps to the side, distancing herself from Leonard, then spread her hands and forcefully pushed the void.

A bronze Door with countless strange patterns, difficult to describe precisely, appeared out of thin air, and creaked open a crack.

Terrifying suction came from behind the Door. Skinless, bloody arms, slimy tentacles with teeth, and vines with baby faces stretched out from the darkness behind the Door, forcefully grabbing at Ince Zangwill!

Leonard looked at the giant scissors stuck beside his foot, and looked at the 'Admiral Hell' Ludwell in confusion, only to find that the other party's figure had disappeared.

"What does this mean?"

"Pick it up. If you're lucky enough, this Mystical Item can instantly severely wound this former Archbishop of the Church of the Evernight Goddess, who is not in good condition."

Pallez's voice suddenly echoed in Leonard's mind.

A look of surprise flashed in his eyes. Leonard reached out to pull the scissors stuck in the ground while muttering in his heart:

"Old man? You, weren't you asleep?"

"Amon is everywhere here, how could I sleep? Perhaps one day I'll fall asleep and never wake up."

Pallez replied testily, then fell silent.

Suddenly, illusory cracking sounds echoed in layers, and everyone looked up in surprise, gazing at the position above their heads.

Adam's Corpse Cathedral was flickering in and out of existence, as if overlapping with reality. Starlight permeated the surroundings, gradually disintegrating this magnificent church.

Inside the Corpse Cathedral, the Genie refused Leyton's request for another wish as compensation and retracted back into the wishing lamp.

Around Leyton, patches of starlight suddenly became bright and dazzling. The starlight rapidly eroded the Corpse Cathedral, re-establishing its connection with the Astral World and the Spirit World.

At that instant, the Genie's voice suddenly echoed in Leyton's mind: "A reminder to you, you have been infected with 'Mental Plague' and have been planted with psychological cue by Adam. If not dealt with in time, the consequences will be very severe."

Leyton lowered his eyes to the wishing lamp in his hand, twitched the corner of his mouth, and said with a sigh: "Fate is on our side."

The Genie mocked disdainfully: "Fate can only make these influences less fatal when they erupt, but that doesn't mean they are not lethally dangerous. Even those few guys who can, to a certain extent, represent Fate, cannot guarantee that they won't be injured or fall."

"You'd best be able to distinguish which thoughts are your own and which are forced upon you by others."

Leyton did not respond to the Genie. His body instantly dematerialized, breaking down into streams of pure, complex information, surging out from the cracks in the Corpse Cathedral that were being eroded by starlight.

As he moved, Ariehogg, entangled with Amon, also flapped his wings, directly shattering the church's stained-glass window and flying out.

Having left the Corpse Cathedral, the dragon's form rapidly expanded, instantly reaching the size of a small mountain.

Ariehogg, in his dragon form, raised his head and let out a low roar in the sky. The soul-shaking roar echoed continuously, planting the psychological cue to flee this place in everyone in Berens Port.

The wind, carrying the dragon's might and strong will, blew in all directions. Any creature caught within it found their body, mind, and spirit in an uncontrollable state.

The entire Berens Port fell into chaos, either trembling and standing still, or blindly and irrationally fleeing, or losing control of their bladder and bowels, their legs weakly collapsing, or displaying fanatical expressions, as if they had become followers of the dragon.

The few people who were besieging Ince Zangwill in the open square also briefly froze.

Streams of complex, pure information flowed down from mid-air, quickly converging and reassembling Leyton's body. Patches of dazzling starlight surrounded him, outlining symbols of doors.

Before Amon and Adam came out of the Corpse Cathedral, he teleported Anderson, Leonard, and others in the square, including the hidden Klein, all out of the city.

Just as he completed his action, a crimson-purple flaming spear flew out of the Corpse Cathedral and plunged into the ground of the square.

The flames quickly disintegrated and reassembled, transforming into Medici Sauron Einhorn, clad in blood-stained armor, with fiery red, wild hair and a handsome face.

There were long scars on each side of his cheeks, from the corners of his mouth to his ears, which gave him a fierce and iron-blooded aura. Crimson-purple flames spontaneously gathered in his hand, forming an exaggeratedly broad straight sword.

Beside him, Ouroboros's figure also quickly materialized. His simple linen robe had more scorched marks on it.

Leyton's gaze lingered for a moment on Medici Sauron Einhorn, whose aura was chaotic and whose chest was heaving violently, and Ouroboros, who looked as if he had just been through a fire. He scoffed:

"You two together couldn't even defeat one Adam?"
