Above the Gray Fog, Klein's expression became exceptionally solemn. He didn't try to do anything else. The lightning just now was merely a reactive and probing move after seeing Amon. Amon, who was parasitizing Danitz, wasn't that easy to get rid of.
The previous probe had already made him understand that this Amon's avatar retained considerable strength, capable of easily stealing the lightning he struck down with the sea god scepter.
"It's still that priest who always wears a gentle smile. He seems to be able to see Amon parasitizing Danitz, and can even be so close to Amon. He must not be simple either."
Sighing, Klein gave Anderson a normal reply before cutting off the connection. He then threw the scene he had just seen through the prayer light and shadow into the deep red star representing Leyton.
A moment later, the deep red star representing Leyton rippled, and as Klein's spirituality extended to touch the deep red star, Hermes words floated in the air:
"Amon and Adam, you'd best pray to the Evernight Goddess, and tell her that Adam brought Amon as well."
The deep red words floated in the air for a while before disappearing on their own. Klein leaned back in the high-backed chair at the head of the mottled long table, his face Condensation.
"Is that golden-haired priest Adam? He's a bit different from what I imagined. He gives off a very gentle feeling, completely lacking the oppressive feeling after learning about 0-08."
"The Spectator demigod Anderson provoked back then was Adam's subordinate. He was even more unlucky than I imagined at the time. What did Adam, or his subordinate, do to Anderson? And why did he bring him to the Southern Continent? Anderson is only a Sequence 5, he definitely wouldn't be noticed by Adam, a King of Angels."
"Anderson took the place of the pirate he hunted down. His spirituality is unusually active… This is somewhat like bait for fishing, to attract a Hunter Pathway existence?"
Klein thought of the Red Angel Evil Spirit in the Backlund underground ruins. Only the evil spirit of this former King of Angels was worth Adam specially preparing bait for him.
As thoughts floated, Klein thought of Ince Zangwill, who was possessed by the evil spirit, and he murmured somewhat speechlessly:
"Ince Zangwill isn't possessed by that Red Angel's evil spirit, is he? Did he come to the Southern Continent due to the evil spirit's influence, or to seek a way to resolve the evil spirit's possession?"
"What kind of help can praying to the Goddess provide? More information? Or silently influencing Ince Zangwill, allowing him to be dealt with by the Red Gloves team before he falls into Adam's trap?"
Thinking of this, Klein immediately made a decision, extending his spirituality to envelop himself and leaving the Gray Fog.
Northern State, inside a hotel in Cookawa city.
Klein opened his eyes and stood up from the armchair. He subconsciously looked around, only relaxing after confirming there were no anomalies.
"Good thing I didn't stay in Berens Port all this time, otherwise I would have directly encountered Amon face-to-face."
While sighing, he quickly searched the room for the remaining materials from his last prayer to the Artificial Death, and prayed to the Evernight Goddess, who had already mastered the uniqueness of "Death."
After praying and waiting for a while, he still didn't receive a reply from the Evernight Goddess. Klein sighed helplessly and had to finish the prayer.
Then he found paper and pen, quickly wrote a letter to Leonard and the Old Man in his body, and at the same time hinted that Leonard could ask the Old Man for a few Worm of Times.
In less than ten minutes, Miss Messenger, carrying four heads, placed Leonard's reply in front of him.
After leaving the letter, Miss Messenger didn't leave immediately. The eight eyes of the four heads she was carrying kept staring intently at Klein, making Klein's scalp tingle before she spoke:
"Recently…"
"Don't…"
"Summon…"
"Me."
"Why?"
Klein looked at Miss Messenger in surprise. He had just been wondering whether to lightly ask Miss Messenger to help him hunt Ince Zangwill, but he was struggling with his current financial situation, so he hadn't spoken.
The four golden-haired, red-eyed heads in Miss Messenger's hands spoke in turn:
"Suah…"
"Is…"
"Looking for me."
Klein nodded gravely: "Okay, I understand."
"Goodbye."
The head that Miss Messenger hadn't been able to speak with earlier suddenly spoke, and then her body transparently disappeared before Klein's eyes.
Hoo~ Klein let out a long breath, his brows tightly furrowed:
"How did all the problems suddenly erupt…"
As he sighed, he shook the letter in his hand, displaying its contents before his eyes. There were only a few sentences:
"I am already in Berens Port."
"Additionally, the Old Man, in order to avoid the potential gaze of Amon in the surroundings, has entered a deep sleep. He is also unwilling to waste excess power at this time to separate Worm of Times."
"This…" Klein opened his mouth, then swallowed the words back.
In the Dock District of Berens Port, Leyton stepped on and killed an ant that had crawled to his foot.
The ant had a white ring around its right eye, and as it died, a faint white light, difficult to see with the naked eye, separated from its body and swept into the distance.
Leyton sat on the coast's railing, pure, pale purple light flickering in his eyes, taking in all the information of Berens Port.
"This city is full of Amon. They can already gather into an Angel-level avatar."
As he sighed, a light yellow letter drifted down from the Spirit World and was caught by his outstretched hand. A few words were scrawled on it:
"I'm in Berens Port, and Amon has also arrived here!"
Leyton rubbed the light yellow paper twice with his right hand. A crimson flame suddenly shot up, quickly burning the paper to ashes, which scattered into the air with the sea breeze.
After burning the letter, Leyton turned on the railing and looked at the sea ahead, a profound silvery-white light flickering in and out of his eyes.
In mid-air, a black-eyed seagull circled a few times before gliding down with the wind into the shadow at Leyton's feet.
That shadow immediately came alive, flowing and wriggling like water, from which scarlet flesh-composed words emerged one by one:
"Due to some coincidences and the intensification of various conflicts, the Rose School of Thought, in conjunction with the Highland Kingdom and the Haagenti Kingdom, launched an attack on Paz River Valley. I temporarily cannot leave this area. Others cannot resist the influence exerted by the Mother Tree of Desire through Tolzna."
Leyton lowered his gaze to the lines of words emerging from the dark shadow and said in a low, expressionless voice:
"This is within expectations. Are the Intis and Church of the God of Steam and Machinery people making any moves?"
The scarlet flesh-composed words in the shadow wriggled again, quickly forming new sentences:
"Bornova Gustav appeared in the Harvest Plain area of East Balam."
This sentence lingered for about two seconds, then the crimson flesh rapidly melted into the shadow, and the wriggling shadow also settled down, as if nothing had happened, nothing had been left behind.
"Bornova came to the Southern Continent… Did 'Steam' discover something, or is it probing?"
Leyton looked at the sea ahead and muttered a few words to himself. Suddenly, a crow with a white ring around its right eye landed on his shoulder, flapping its wings and looking at where the shadow had just wriggled.
Leyton tilted his head and looked at the crow perched on his shoulder. He didn't try to drive it away or kill it, but simply asked blandly:
"What do you two brothers want to do?"
The crow standing on his shoulder opened its mouth and emitted Amon's voice:
"My paranoid brother wants to obtain the last 'Writer' characteristic, but he found that many people are obstructing him, either openly or covertly. Some cooperation he had with the Evernight Goddess also seems to be no longer as reliable. To prevent accidents, he chose to seek help from me."
After a pause, Amon added:
"His condition is to help me find Pallez."
"No wonder…" Leyton's gaze flickered, and he silently added a layer of Concealment effect to himself.
The crow standing on his shoulder raised a wing, pressed the white ring around its right eye, and said in a very soft tone:
"You don't actually need to be so wary of me. After all, I'm just a Sequence 3 avatar. As long as you expose a bit of your main body's information, I'll be corrupted by you."
"Heh." Leyton chuckled, saying nothing more. His body then dematerialized, disintegrating into pure streams of information, surging towards the sea.
The crow with the white eye-ring landed on the railing, its figure blurred for a moment, then in the next second, it transformed into Amon's appearance: wearing a black trench coat, with black curly hair, black eyes, a broad forehead, and a thin face.
He looked at the surging information current moving away, raised his right hand to adjust the crystal monocle on his face, and a slight curve appeared at the corner of his mouth:
"He actually left? Has Pallez not arrived here yet?"
As he muttered to himself, he glanced at the flock of seabirds circling overhead.
Silently, a black ring appeared around the right eyes of several white seabirds that had just flown over his head.
After parasitizing a few seabirds, his figure suddenly blurred, then disappeared from the Dock District.
