….

Seeing this, Andrew was undoubtedly a little shocked.

This was the first time he had seen someone with 2 talents at once.

He had heard of it on the news, however he didnt expect someone from his relatively small school to actually possess this kind of blessing.

"Damn, I kind of want both of them…" Andrew thought.

he hinestly didnt think it could get better than what Maya had awoken.

Shaking his head, he knew he would only have one pick, and he knew not to get too hasty.

There was still one more kid from an influential family that had yet to show up.

Just as everyone was beginning to think he would be late;

With 7 minutes left on the clock, he arrived.

In came a lean looking boy, with his baggy clothes on one might think that he was lanky and weak.

However his darker blue hair, incredibly sharp features, and piercing gaze made one feel as though they were looking at a bolt of lightning in human form.

This kid was Michael Dragonborn, considered one of the most handsome young men in his year, a tad taller than Andrew.

Conversations ensued, Andrew wasted no time.

Andrews eye lit up once again.

"He'll most likely be my target for today, 3 benefits in one talent, thats not bad at all, i can definitely work with that."

Quite frankly, Andrew wanted them all.

He knew in due time hed get what he wished for. All he had to do was just be patient for the next few months after today.

Or maybe, he would find more suitabke candidates.

Time passed what felt to be too slow for only having about 6 minutes left on the clock.

6 minutes felt like 60 minutes as everyone waited in anticipation.

One minute before the ceremony, the auditorium doors closed slowly, the principal getting on the mic.

Their principal was an older gentleman by the name of Derek Coleslinger, he was a man with a mid level 5th grade strength talent, at peak qi refinement. Arguably the most powerful man in the school.

He was gonna be directing this years awakening ceremony, as was his duty.

As he started to set up the platform, the curtains behind him drew back to reveal a particular kind of translucent, but slightly milky white orb.

If one stared at it for long enough, it almost became captivating.

This was the talent awakening stone; something that had been used for generations leading up till today to activate an individuals talent.

A few faculty members quickly brought the pedestal containing this orb over to the left side of the principal, inspecting it a few times to ensure it was in perfect condition.

The principal started;

"Hello everyone, im glad to see all of your faces today and i hope that everyone got a good nights rest in preparation for the ceremony." He spoke, his voice that permeating the entire auditorium.

He continued, "As you all are already completely aware, directly to my left is the awakening stone, you will all come up and place both hands on the stone at once. You will feel your mind start to clear, and at that point the stone will start to glow before displaying the name of your talent as a projection atop the stone."

"I have very high hopes in this years class, I wish you all luck awakening…" he finished, quickly disappearing into thin air.

A faculty member walked up onto the stage, standing next to the awakening stone holding a thick notebook.

He was in charge of marking who awoke what kind of talent.

"Mhmm, okay students, we will now be calling each of you up to form a line in alphabetical order by last name, first Aidan Alexia… next Charlie Alexander… next…"

As the students began to line up, the excitement and worry was evident by their body language.

Conversations rang about filled with hope and subtle words of encouragement from student to student.

Who didnt want to awaken a high level talent?

You would have to be insane not too.

Unfortunately for the case of most of these students, they would leave with broken hearts and mediocre outlooks on the future.

Just as the teacher got to the end of the list, he called out a name one time, then two times, then three times, but there was no response.

This name was Zachary Yueler.

He looked up and realized what was once a crowd in front of him was empty, before shaking his head, and crossing off the name.

Everyone knew who this was, and hearing that he was a no show, everyone scoffed in subtle disdain.

"Who would even dare to miss this huge event, that kid Zachary has always been such an odd one out," one student muttered to another.

"I cant believe that there are people who dont take this shit seriously, what an embarrassment to our school…" said another one, not afraid of being heard.

To this, a lot of kids started laughing, meanwhile Andrew was contemplating.

"Zachary Yueler… I cant tell if that name is ringing a bell or not…"

he pondered with a slightly strained look on his face.

He really couldnt remember if there was an odd fellow in his grade named Zachary, he kinda just did his own thing most of the time.

He knew most peoples faces, but he didnt bother with the names of people he didnt talk to.

"Well whatever, its his misfortune that hes missing out on something like this. I dont know who would ever want to wait on this, but thats his choice."

Just then, the doors to the auditorium flew open with a bang.

A pale short teenager with dark black hair covering his forehead and his eyes walked in.

He was so out of breath you would think he was running for his life away from the mutated beasts.

He was much skinnier than the other students in the school, his clothing was shabby and slightly torn in some places.

He looked like he just went clothes shopping in the dump yard, his appearance less than humble.

"Could I assume you are Mr. Yueler?" The teacher asked, his face carrying slight disappointment.

After the teenager caught his breath, he quickly spoke,

"Yes, im so sorry for being late, my house is kind of a distance from the school…"

Meanwhile, Zachary cursed to himself, "Shit, i cant tell him I overslept, id make a fool of myself in front of my entire school, sinking any pity that might still exist for me…"

"Okay, quickly get in line then, dont waste any more time dawdling."

"Yes sir, i apologize once more." Zachary said, hurrying down the aisle to the back of the line.

Conversations and whispers were rampant, nobody attempting to be discreet.

"This poor sap, coming late to the awakening ceremony is ballsy,"

"Heh, i bet he overslept, look at his condition he hasnt even washed his face."

"Back to the slums for him after today for certain… He'll never change his fate with that attitude!"

Andrew hearing this felt a little pity, but he knew that this was not his problem.

Zachary hearing all this balled his fists in his shirt.

"Haha… after today ill show all of you whos gonna change their fate…" he thought, rubbing the ring on his pointer finger with his thumb.

Just then Andrew heard a ding…

The screen that popped up in front of him almost made him scream out loud in pure shock.
