Chapter 165 - Lich king's history with his master

The Lich King emerged from Adam's body. His aura exploded inside the room as a gust of darkness created a powerful wind, pushing everyone back. As the Lich King floated down beside Adam, he extended his hands, and a scepter and a book appeared before him. The Lich King stomped the ground with his scepter, creating a dark circle around himself and Adam. The book flipped open, pages turning continuously. The ground around the circle turned black, and multiple shadow creatures emerged before dissolving into the scepter.

The Lich King pointed the scepter at Adam's chest and chanted a spell. The book glowed as mana emerged from the scepter, sealing the darkness of Adam's heart. Lyra analyzed Adam's body after the sealing and confirmed that Adam had stabilized and was resting. However, everyone stood wondering who this creature was that had just saved Adam.

The Lich King then turned to the others and introduced himself. "Bow before me, lesser beings. I am the Second Commander of the Demon King's Army. Be rewarded by my presence and serve me as a loyal slave," the Lich King declared. Everyone looked at the creature's audacity and became speechless.

Lyra turned to the others. "Adam has stabilized and is resting. We don't have to worry anymore."

Serbas then went to the table. "I have more tea; why don't we sit down and wait for Adam to wake up."

Vlad and Lyra walked to the table and took a seat, sipping their tea.

"How dare you ignore my presence! I am the supreme being, the Lich King!" the creature continued speaking.

"My ears hurt hearing him speak," Serbas commented, flicking his fingers to create a soundproof bubble around them. "This is much better," Serbas said, sipping his tea.

Adam's Nightmare and Awakening

Meanwhile, Adam, in his resting state, found himself in darkness. He looked around and saw a light that pulled him closer. As he got closer, the surroundings turned brighter, and he saw a mirror in front of him. He saw his reflection, but upon closer inspection, his appearance was slightly different: a man with different clothes and white hair stared back at him.

The reflection spoke: "It's about time we meet. I have long been curious about what I would become."

"Who are you? A demon?" Adam asked.

"I am you," the reflection stated, transforming its body into the black armor core. "I am more than what you could become!" The black armor core grew bigger, with spikes and tentacles growing out of its body.

"Time will come sooner than expected. All will be unraveled," the reflection whispered as the mirror cracked, and tentacles burst out towards Adam.

Adam awoke from the nightmare, getting up from the bed. He looked around and saw the Lich King standing beside him. Adam instantly remembered this familiar Lich King that he had fought once in his own world. Before Adam could react defensively, the Lich King bent down on his knees and spoke, "Master, I have waited for your recovery."

Adam looked confused, but the voice sounded familiar. Then he remembered the voice that had once spoken to him through telepathy. "Are you the one that called out to me before?" Adam asked.

"Yes, Master. I believe I could be of help to you. It would be an honor to be at your service," the Lich King responded, forming a contract with Adam. Adam, knowing how strong the Lich King was during their battle, accepted the contract.

"Is there a reason why you would want to serve me?" Adam asked.

"I serve whoever I wish. You have proven to me that I am to be your servant. Your dark energy inside of you belongs to my Master. I believe it is fate that brought me to meet you again," the Lich King explained.

"Explain. How am I your Master, and how did we meet again?" Adam asked curiously.

"Your mana and dark energy have the same signature as my Master in the past. I was once under his command. I am the Second Commander of the Demon King's Army. Our past Demon King had the same mana signature as yours. I have lived through multiple Demon Kings, and the last Demon King invaded your world. However when I fought you in your world, I didn't sense your mana signature until it was too late. Your black armor blocked your mana signature, and only after I was trapped in your dimension did I realize that you were once my Master in the past, having the same mana signature." the Lich King concluded.
