Meanwhile, in the castle:
Eldrie said, "Vice Captain, we have to do something."
Lara said, "This is unacceptable. We have to do something for Liebe."
Gelda said, "We will. We are Black Rose, and we are loyal to the one Odin chooses, the one who will be the All-Father. We will proceed accordingly."
Eldrie said, "Fine then."
As Gelda entered the planning room:
Lilith said, "Gelda, you are back."
Gelda said, "Yes, I am. I know where my priorities lie above all. Now get me a map of the capital, the sewage system, the underground structures. Let's plan."
As all the maps arrived:
Gelda said, "Currently it's 8 AM. They won't strike now. Devils will stick out like a sore thumb during the light. They will move at night—natural camo. Now from the maps, we can easily see there are 7 sewage lines that lead to the outside of the walls. And based on last night's disappearance locations, it's obvious they are between here, Point Alpha and Delta, in these 4 possible locations."
Malcor said, "If we know where they are, why not raid them now?"
Gelda said, "That will be stupid. Liebe knows far better than to sit around. If we attack head-on, we will be against an entire army of devils, not to mention Liebe and his team."
Malcor said, "So what are you saying? That we should sit here while they just take one of the 7 routes of the drainage systems and escape the capital?"
Gelda said, "Simple. From their current location, there aren't any connecting lines to these 7 tunnels. So if they want to escape, either way they will have to surface at one point or another. And if they do so during the day, we are lucky. But at night, the odds are far greater. It's better to launch a proper attack with a defined strategy rather than depending on blind luck."
Malcor said, "So at night, when they are forced to surface, we strike."
Gelda said, "Exactly. And based on the battle last night, they are injured and hungry, so Lady Luck is on our side. It may not be necessarily tonight, but it won't be long. 3 days before they start becoming too weak to fight. They will most likely try to escape before that. And if they don't, it will be easier for us—weak and defenceless, easy to kill off. Half of all troops on standby and guard patrols. The capital needs to be covered. Due to the reduced population, it will be easier to monitor. All the districts will be under 8 teams. Eldrie, go with Malcor and Nebuleye forces. Lara, with Black Lion forces. Lia, with Arc Luatine forces. Stal, with Rising Sun forces. Tracy, stay with the Avalon forces. Drew, you are with the White Unicorn forces. Rest of you, divide equally among the rest. Vexus and you—"
Vexus said, "I will do what I feel like."
Gelda said, "Alright then."
Asten said, "I alone will be sufficient for my side."
Gelda said, "Alright then."
Malcor said, "Why are you leading our forces? A Black Rose someone loyal to Liebe Faust?"
Gelda said, "Unless you weren't paying attention to the announcement moments ago, the coalition will be led by Black Rose forces. I'm simply exercising my administrative authority as the Vice Captain of Black Rose and the greatest tactician in the nation."
Malcor said, "Fine then."
Gelda said, "So glad you could see it from the logical point of view."
Meanwhile, in the underground sewers:
Licht said, "Here are the blueprints, maps, and all other structural information."
Liebe said, "Good. Then there are 7 exit points through the sewage tunnels, but none are connected. So we will need to escape by surfacing—no choice there. But during the day out in the open is far too harsh. Night is better. There are 500 of us. Let's divide a bit. 50 will be combatants and the rest 450 civilians. Getting the civilians out takes priority above all. Is that plan OK, Pride?"
Pride said, "Having pacifists battle is against my principles, but I will allow it this once."
Liebe said, "Alright then. If Gelda is their tactician, we simply have no openings whatsoever."
Mavia said, "Your point being?"
Liebe said, "Simple. If there aren't any, then first we will shake the board, then make a hole and make our opening. And in order to do that, we will use these Masks of Ifrit—Model Chameleon, the kind used by Gaia to look human, but we will use it the other way around. And the other one, the Mask of Ifrit Mythical Model Loki. These will do wonders for us. But right now, we will start extracting the injured first of all. They expect us at night. We will start smuggling during the day, right under their eyes."
As the injured devils used the masks to be disguised as old humans:
Liebe said, "Well, you guys have fun. I want to have some fun right now."
Licht said, "Please don't be stupid."
Liebe said, "Trust me, this part is the definition of stupid but smart."
Licht said, "Fine then."
As during the day, Liebe went to the streets unarmed. He let out his King's Roar, notifying everyone. As soon as he was surrounded, Liebe surrendered.
As Lilith, Gelda, and everyone came:
Lilith said, "What is the meaning of this?"
Liebe said, "Simple. I'm surrendering. Or do you plan to execute me, Mother, in front of all these people? An unarmed intruder with no weapons? A former hero?"
As Lilith said, "What point are you trying to make?"
Liebe said, "Nothing much. A simple test to see exactly how far you have lost it, little butcher."
Lilith said, "You have some nerve after attempting to assassinate my son."
Liebe said, "Are you forgetting I'm your son by birth? Or is the harsh reality simply too much for you to bear?"
As Lilith slammed her fist on a building, destroying it:
Lilith said, "Don't push your luck."
Liebe said, "I'm simply stating the truth, aren't I? And if you truly believe your little make-believe lie, ask the asshole himself, why don't you?"
Lilith said, "That's enough. Gelda, arrest him."
Gelda said, "Sorry, I can't do that. Due to old age, it appears my back hurts, and arresting my son seems like far too much work."
Lilith said, "Eldrie, do it."
Eldrie firmly said, "Sorry, ma'am. I refuse."
Lilith said, "What?"
Eldrie said, "My loyalty lies with the heir to the throne of Faust, and I will not arrest the grandson of Domr Faust."
Lilith said, "Lara, do it."
Lara said, "Sorry, ma'am, I can't. He helped my family when you were busy. It's far too wrong to accept."
Lilith said, "Stal—"
Stal said, "Sorry, I forgot how to arrest people."
Lilith said, "Nora, do it."
Nora said, "Umm, ma'am, I'm Eldrie's fiancée, and it's wrong to go behind my future husband's back. Please forgive me."
Liebe said, "Is something the matter, Mother? I do certainly hope your heir to the throne of Faust can be a—well—more charismatic leader than myself, rather than being a spoiled brat."
As it was obvious Liebe was escalating the situation with his words and provoking Lilith:
Liebe said, "What's wrong? Can't arrest me yourself? I'm unarmed."
Malcor said, "I will do it." As he handcuffed Liebe.
Liebe said, "It seems unfortunately my luck has run out. How sad. And here I wanted to fight."
Through Gelda's spatial portal, Liebe was sent away to Arcame Prison. Due to the unique circumstance, he was locked away in cuffs in solitary confinement.
Seeing this:
Licht said, "Dumbass. I really hate it when he does stuff like this."
Jewel said, "Damn. Licht, your leader has guts, that's for sure."
Mavia said, "Using the disguises, we were able to take more than 50 devils outside the walls—the worst of the injured. The knights didn't say a thing. The old man disguises really was smart. Where does Liebe get ideas this good?"
Licht said, "The worst of the injured are out safe now. It's alright if it becomes a bloodbath."
Jewel said, "Now let's do this. I will face Lilith."
Licht said, "Dad, did you really forget what happened the last time you did that?"
Jewel said, "What? I won that fight."
Licht said, "What happened to your arm?"
Jewel said, "Oh this? It's nothing. Just collateral damage. Stuff happens. And I'm back for round 2."
Lichee said, "No. We will face Lilith."
Alex said, "So Hell, Heaven, and I will do it."
Warner said, "I can hold off at least 2 captains on my own. 3 if I can go all out. Any role would be alright with me."
Licht said, "Well, the rest depends entirely on Liebe being Liebe. Currently we are 50 strong with 400 civilians. Let's just hope Liebe's plan to shake the board actually works and they relax a bit."
Warner said, "Well, they did deploy half their forces to arrest him, so I think it might have worked."
