Chapter 460 - A Corrupt Radiant - Changing Fate!

A raging, painful scream filled the Control Room.

The Radiant of Gravity stumbled back, throwing his hands left and right, blood bursting from all over his body, especially from his eyes.

On the other side was Gehrman Sparrow, his eyes wide open.

Ever since he had seen Dr. Sam suggest to Star to make The Boundary transparent, he had changed the position of his real eyes, replacing them with false eyes that couldn't see.

But he had held off from alerting Alexander Becking regarding the same.

First, Singularity currently lingered in the Radiant's mind, watching it all happen. If he had suggested not looking at the video, then it would have spooked Her, giving the impression that he knew about a presence outside The Boundary.

Second, all of Star's actions had pointed toward her not entertaining the ridiculous suggestion of Dr. Sam, even until the very last moment.

The third, and biggest, reason was that knowing about Amon and the Evil God outside, Gehrman himself wanted to find out the New Order's limits when it came to The Boundary.

Because, with Star already corrupted, he needed to make a decision based on the video footage on what to do with her.

In case Star actually went with Samuel's suggestion in the video footage, Gehrman had hoped to wait until the very last moment before destroying the control panels without giving any explanation to Alexander.

Then, there was the name again — Klein Moriarty.

The moment Gehrman heard that name, his thoughts instantly went to Amon.

Even the Decryption ability within him, which remained active constantly despite Luke limiting Gehrman's abilities to the Seer Pathway, lunged at the theory of this Sam being Amon Himself.

That created a gap.

A gap so minute that the next voice Gehrman heard belonged not to Star or Samuel or Koichi, but to Alexander, his Danger Intuition going haywire like never before.

Instinctively, the Faceless pointed his revolver at the control panel and fired.

A bang resounded, followed by a crackle of electricity.

Only then did Gehrman dare to open his eyes.

And what he saw made even him draw a sharp breath.

The Radiant of Gravity's flesh was boiling from the inside out, his hands holding his head as he screamed. Blood was streaming down from his eyes, ears, nose, and mouth, tiny slits covering his entire body as if someone had taken a knife and plunged it hundreds of times here and there.

But the most dreadful thing about this sight wasn't Alexander's roars.

It was the flicker those knife-slits carried, as if… as if they would open in the very next moment.

A chill ran down Gehrman Sparrow's spine.

Then he heard mumbles.

Lying on his knees on the floor was Dr. Sam, smiling broadly as he looked at Alexander.

"Mr. Fool!" the mad scientist was saying, tears streaming from his eyes. "I await your coming… Let my eyes feast upon your divine existence…"

Gehrman raised his revolver to put a bullet in Sam's head.

Before that, Nyx came storming inside the Control Room, her body reacting instinctively with her thoughts.

The moment her eyes landed on Alexander's state, she gasped, instantly turning around.

"Nope. Nope. Not again!" she cawed, already running away. "Activate Quirks! I am just saying it at random to absolutely nobody. ACTIVATE QUIRKS MO#$#$#$##!"

Before Nyx could fly out of the Control Room...

Before Gehrman could press the trigger…

Alexander let out a grunt, a vertical slit between his eyes snapping open, carrying nothing but pure whiteness.

The floor beneath his feet suddenly sank and cracked as if it weren't a man of flesh and blood standing on it, but one made of pure metal.

Nyx and Gehrman's eyes suddenly widened, realizing what was about to happen.

Gehrman's right cheek suddenly gained a mouth, his reactions so fast that it felt like he hung motionless in a moment.

A moment was all he had because once Alexander spread out that much concentrated weight, it would be all over for both him and Nyx.

In that moment, his mind was divided into two parts.

One part continued to act like Gehrman Sparrow, while the other one became Luke.

One part continued to be limited to its Quirkless Seer Pathway, while the other was already aiming to snap the fingers to activate Bioalchemy.

Gehrman controlled the right hand, letting go of the revolver and reaching for the object he had carried in his pocket all this time.

Luke controlled the left hand and snapped his fingers, activating a Super Complexity Quirk.

Nyx had already prepared to use a combination of Flaming Jump and Paper Substitution to survive by leaving the hundred-meter zone, risking losing all Quirks.

However, the moment Luke activated a Super Quirk within her, she instantly lost a chunk of Spirit Points.

Now, she could only use either Flaming Jump or Paper Substitution.

It wouldn't have mattered if Luke had activated Star Shift, letting her think of a different spot and teleport there.

But he didn't.

Was it intentional?

Nyx needed to think, but her body reacted faster than her thoughts because of Quick Reaction, acting on her Seer's intuition.

With a bright spark, she disappeared into a mass of flames.

Simultaneously, on the other side, Gehrman took out a translucent, miniature black card bearing several strange patterns.

It also resembled the eyes of a particular existence that was watching this world.

The Fate Siphon Charm!

The moment Gehrman took it out, he threw it toward the Radiant of Gravity, chanting in Jotun: "Fate!"

A presence filled every inch of space within the Control Room.

An invisible line connected Alexander to Gehrman, grafting his fate to Gehrman.

Instantaneously, just as the corrupt Radiant was about to unleash his accumulated weight of 18,000 kg, all the slits, including the eye that had already opened in the middle of his forehead, suddenly… vanished.

"Argh…" Gehrman let out an inhuman growl simultaneously as the Evil God's corruption seeped into him.

However, just before the slits appearing on his body could snap open, mutating him beyond return…

… Nyx flashed into existence on his shoulder, using — Return!
