We headed for the village and they had come out to meet us. The woman bowed properly and led us in with care.
The village chief's house was a bit bigger than the others.
The chief was a kind-looking old man. He thanked us carefully for saving the kids.
"Travelers, is your party only three women, and only those three fight?"
"Ah. Yeah."
He asked over tea after dinner. I had thought the usual, that this kind of dinner would turn out surprisingly good. It was just a plain meal. Nothing special.
"Forgive me for asking, but how is your strength, that sort of thing?"
"Strength. Only three of us, but two of them are worth a thousand, so I think we can manage."
"O-oh. Is that so. Well. In the deep woods east of the village, it seems a strong monster has settled in."
"You want it gone?"
"If possible."
What is this. If it is not a quest or an event, there is no benefit. I only came to check how NPCs move. I have no attachment to this village.
