Several days after Rigel left Cynthia's side——
"Hahaha! You're pretty fast! As expected of an earth dragon!!"
"Kyurururu!!"
Rigel praised the earth dragon he was riding. In response, it let out a happy cry.
(This guy's seriously smart… Does it actually understand human language?)
Thinking such things, Rigel raced across the plains of the former Valestain territory. There wasn't a single soldier around him.
Given his position, he should have had escorts, but he had refused them. The reason was simple and clear: They'd just get in the way. Traveling alone made him more mobile, and if something happened, he could rampage freely. That was the most convenient option for Rigel.
"Well, the sun's about to set soon… Guess I'll find somewhere to camp for the night."
He muttered while looking up at the sky. The earth dragon cried out in agreement. Following its voice, Rigel decided to look for a suitable spot.
"Oh, there's a village up ahead."
