Chapter 659: What Pain Uncovered
Securing the chamber took twenty minutes and produced most of what Leon needed before anybody said a word.
Seraphine went over every control surface and every seam in the walls and found four hidden weapon caches and a talisman rig under the dais that would have taken the roof down. She disarmed it and left it visible, which Leon thought was a good decision.
Ira sat on the dais steps facing the prisoners with her lance across her knees and did not blink for twenty minutes.
Vyra emptied all seven storage rings onto the floor and catalogued the contents in front of everybody. Two months of field supplies. Good formation tools. Four cutting implements of the same flat hurried make as the spikes. Personal notes, sketches of the nexus, three separate attempts at mapping the terraces. And seven signal tokens, every one unused.
Loriel went through the prisoners one at a time.
