I shouldn't be this nervous just to see him. It's been over a month.
And somehow… that feels like a lifetime.
My fingers tightened slightly around the steering wheel. I was going to meet Ash.
Just thinking his name made me smile.
June said his mom was coming home today.
Which meant he'd be happy.
Which also meant…I might finally get to see that smile again.
God… I missed him.
I let out a slow breath, pressing my lips together.
"I'm really coming to see you, Ash…" I murmured quietly, almost like I needed to hear it out loud to believe it.
Because for weeks… I didn't.
I stayed away.
No calls. No random visits. No showing up just because I missed him.
Just like June said. Give him space.
I laughed softly under my breath, shaking my head. "Do you know how hard that was…?"
Every single day felt like I was holding myself back from going to him.
