Chapter : 15 : One Must Always Watch Their Steps :
Location : Southern Side Of Veridia City : Magical Beast Forest : Outer Region :
" Boom !!!! "
" Whoosh ! Whoosh ! "
" Slamm !! Crack !!!! "
" Thwack ! Thwack ! Thwack ! Thwack ! "
At this moment a fierce battle was going on between two figures in a mountainous hilly area .
One of them was a huge monster sized tiger beast that had a huge tale that was crashing through the trees like it were made of paper .
It's huge claws and razor sharp teeths were making huge mark on the ground .
Against this magical beast was a far smaller character in size .
A human boy who looked nearly like a small toy in front of the tiger beast was fighting valiantly .
He was jumping and dodging from one tree branch to another and from one rock to another while continuously shooting a strom of arrows.
The accuracy of his shooting was incredible as even while in constant motion he managed to hit eight out of ten arrows against an aggressive foe .
However despite hitting the enemy multiple times the aggressive magical beast still kept coming without showing any signs of weakening .
" Boom !!!! "
As the attack continued the man kept retreating .
If you have not understood then let me tell you that this person was obviously none other than Cian V Keolos the main character of the story .
It's been a week since the incident at the academy and a lot of things have changed .
First of all he became a gossip topic at the academy for a few days due to his actions and many started to take notice of him including the second prince and the other high nobility .
Although they did not care much about what he did but still standing up against a noble from the capital like that , especially for a commoner was something you don't get to see everyday.
So at least he was a little worthy of their attention .
The second party who looked into the matter even more seriously then the students where obviously the teachers and the school facility .
After all the rules of the Academy were broken and it was done right at the centre of the facility which was utterly slapp at the academy's reputation .
So at first all the three students were put in detention .
Fortunately for Cian and Liora there were a lot of evidence and witnesses who testified for their innocent and all of them called out Marus Baronet for the trouble .
Moreover Marus and his subordinates were the one to throw the first punch and they even tried to use magic against a fellow student .
This could have seriously injured someone and if not for the timely intervention from professor Frost the situation would have gone even worse .
So after some discussion Marus Baronet was suspended from the academy for the entire year and he would have to repeat the grades .
If not for the multiple requests from his family and the fact that his older brother was a talented senior year student in the Academy he might have already been expelled .
However from the novel it was clear that this punishment that was meant for him to reflect on his actions did not work .
Well ! that's not very surprising in the first place .
Instead it only made his hatred go even deeper and when he returns to the academy he will stay low for some time before doing something even bigger that eould finally force The Academy to expel him .
But right now all of the anger that was supposed to go towards the hero had directly went for Cian .
So that means it was going to be a problem for him in the future .
But it was a good thing for him actually .
Because the event that will trigger due to this man's arrogance and hatred will be at least a tier 3 change opportunity .
Coan does not want Liora to get in any more trouble .
However without a complete and proper end to this things the threat would remain forever just waiting for a new weakness to arrive .
And that is more dangerous than anything else .
On another note after this incident the relationship between him and Liora had taken quite a turn .
For the entire day she did not speak to him again and was too embarrassed to even look at him .
But after that her attitude towards him changed from just a friend to something else .
Although she had yet to accept his proposal it was quite clear that she was in love with Cian .
It's just that the incident of the day progressed so fast that it would take her some time to arrange her wild emotions .
And Cian had no problems with that .
She can take all the time she wants to because when she does make up her decision it should be a true one .
However while waiting for all this Cian wouldn't stay in the Academy for long.
After all if he wants to increase his strength he will need to get more practical experience in combat and harvest more rewards from the system .
So that's why after 2 days he took a leave from the Academy to go to the magical beast forest so that he can train himself .
Obviously that was the reason he told to the academy which was partially the truth .
But what he didn't tell anyone was that he was also going there to hunt for a treasure .
Basically a treasure hunting adventure .
And it's been 2 days since he came to the forest for his training and treasure hunt .
Obviously he was not the hero who would get an unimaginable power to fortunately stumble into things that will lead him into the treasure trove .
And even with the help of his previous knowledge it was not possible to find the path without searching .
After all the novel only gave some clues not the entire detailed map.
So after fighting his way throughout the area with various small level monsters and other things he finally found the location .
And this has what got him to this point fighting the final boss .
" Boom !!!! "
At this moment Cian was really frustrated .
This magical beast is an equal to an early stage veteran realm warrior and was a constant trouble keeping him away from the treasure that was in its cave .
And right now Cian to get away and somehow deal with this monster.
" Hell ! This was not supposed to happen in the story . "
According to the story the hero actually managed to get pass this beast because the beast was at the time not present there .
But obviously he does not have that luck .
When Cian arrived on the scene the beast was already there and noticed his presence immediately .
' Perhaps this is the difference between the chosen one and someone like me who is trying to disturb the original plot . '
The main problem was that right now Cian was not strong enough to fight this beast by himself .
So all he can do right now is to keep his distance and try to out run it .
This also serves a practice lesson for him .
Every time he aims and releases an arrow he is increasing his strength .
And it is also the perfect time for him to test his magical quiver .
And till now it had work really good .
Infact the effects were even better than he expected .
The sound of the arrows decreased by half and the lethality of the short also increased by a significant margin .
Even the magical beast with exceptional hearing could not catch the sound until it was too close.
So due to its heavy body and Cian deliberately bringing it to a narrow space it has little room to move even with it's increased speed .
The only thing that was keeping the beast going even after getting hit by more than 30 arrows was it's instict to fight on and the thickness of it's skin .
And although it was bleeding it showed know sign of stopping .
" Fortunately I don't need to defeat it . "
Cian wasn't a fool to try to do something obviously impossible .
He was not the brainless hero who would jump into such battles hoping that his strength and power of friendship will help him win .
Cian was solo here .
" Thwak ! "
" Roar !!!!! "
After hitting the beast once again Cian quickly turn around and ran away .
Seeing this the beast was at first a little confused and then roared in anger .
' This human disturbed my sleep and now is running away after injuring me . '
To the beast it was an insult and it could not except it .
Hence with it's massive body it also started following Cian destroying everything in it's path .
Today it was determine to take this human down .
After 15 minute long cat and mouse game finally Cian came at dead end because before him there was nothing but a huge waterfall .
The waterfall was very high and the water was falling down at the rocks below with an imaginable pressure .
" Roar!!!! "
Just then the beast also caught up to him and look at him with hunger .
This battle has taken a lot of strength on it's side and now it was time for him to have a feast .
Cian on the other hand did not look worried at all .
Instead he looked at the beast with a fierce determination.
" Let's dance ! "
"...."
" Boom !!!! "
The next moment the beast shot forward like a bullet and slammed his paws towards Cian .
Quickly analysing the situation Cian moved way .
" Ahhh ! "
However the strike was so fast that a deep wound appeared on his right cheek making him scream in pain .
The beast on the other hand looked in triumph ready to end the battle .
However Cian's face slowly let up with a smile .
Suddenly the best once again launched another attack .
But this Cian jumped away in time quickly took out an alchemist elixir bottle and threw it towards the magical beast .
Then without waiting a single second he took aim and released an arrow in mid air .
However the arrow was not aimed at the magical beast but instead hit the elixir bottle bursting it open .
This made the elixir to spread all over the beast who accidentally drank some of it .
"....."
The beast for a moment stop and looked in confusion as if waiting for something to happen .
But when it felt no side effect the beast looked at the human in front of it with contempt .
' It seems even your last reserve failed you spectacularly ! Human . '
Cian on the other hand did not look worried and still had a smile on his face .
The beast looking at Cian's smiling face did not understood anything and felt that it was nothing but a smile of acceptance by the human .
However just as the beast was about to jump forward suddenly something happened .
" Roar !!!! "
The beast started to feel something was wrong as his head and suddenly a screeching headache made it roar in pain .
It felt like the world was suddenly spinning around and it could not focus on its target at all .
But before it could stabilize itself and understand what was happening a sound suddenly came from above .
" Sweet dreams ! "
But before the tiger beast could act it suddenly felt a strong sensation of pain throughout its leg .
" Roar!!!! "
As it roared in anger it took a a few steps back .
But the attack did not stop as that cowardly human kept attacking him at this moment .
' Just you wait human ! once I get out of this cowardly trick of yours I will end you . ' - the beast thought to itself.
What it did not know was that it would never get that chance anymore .
The moment the magical beast let itself go a little further back , it suddenly felt a feeling of emptiness under its big paws .
Without being able to understand what was happening a suddenly force slammed into the Beast .
The force was not strong enough and it could only push it a little further.
But that was more than enough .
" Crack ! "
The moment the beast stepped at the edge of the waterfall the lose ricks could not take its weight anymore and it broke .
With that the beast also lost it's balance .
" Roar !!!! "
The beast after losing control directly fell from the height despite all it's effort .
The last thing that could be heard was it's desperate roar .
However that to was soon covered away by the sound of high speed water .
Looking down from above Cian finally let a sigh of relief that he didn't know he was holding .
" One Must Always Watch Their Steps . "
