One hundred percent preparation remained meaningless while return existed only as a sentence inside the System. The engineers proposed a wheeled instrument platform attached toward a physical tether. Its cameras, atmosphere monitors, sample trays, plus synchronized clock could cross without containing living tissue.
Our biological adviser prohibited seeds, food, untreated fabric, or microbes beyond normal sterile limits. The platform carried polished metal, glass, electronics, plus one sealed inert marker labeled through simple shapes.
"The tether cannot become our return method because cutting, friction, closure, or geometry may destroy it. We use it for retrieval backup, not proof that the gate returns people," the engineer said.
