Ruby's phrase followed me home after rehearsal because it named more than one successful event. A fourth place existed beyond home, work, plus the spaces where people performed belonging. It allowed disconnected adults to meet without demanding they become the same.
Thea had already used `Fourth Place` for the installation that earned her residency shortlist. I would never turn her artistic title into my business name through a friend's clever joke.
"Ask her before you fall in love with the branding," Ruby said when I called for clarification.
I wrote the complete business concept first without selecting any attractive commercial name for it. Student events needed fair staffing, transparent budgets, accessible design, media boundaries, plus professional credit protected from romantic or volunteer pressure.
