Chapter 410: Since You're So Eager to Die, I'll Grant Your Wish!
"Big Brother, this guy's extremely cunning. Let's just all attack together and kill him!"
Beside Cao Ying, the Blood Python City young lord Cao Mang leaned in and spoke in a low voice.
Cao Mang had sharp instincts, and for some reason, he could feel an intense sense of danger radiating from Lin Fan.
"No need. I want that damned human to understand that in the face of absolute power, tricks are useless!" Cao Ying waved him off, sneering coldly.
The beast race thrived on strength. Power was the only thing they respected.
As a leader of a major faction, Cao Ying naturally had his own pride.
He also didn't believe for a second that he could lose to Lin Fan.
Cao Mang didn't argue further.
On one hand, Cao Ying had clearly made up his mind. On the other, Cao Mang had great confidence in his older brother.
After all, Cao Ying was already half a step into Full Completion of the Death Profound Realm—a level that placed him among the true elite even in the Beast Battle Region.
Though Lin Fan was strong, Cao Mang couldn't imagine him surpassing that level.
Cao Ying sneered, stepping forward. With a flash of blood-red light, he appeared in front of Lin Fan. In his hand appeared a crimson snake spear over ten feet long. The cold light on its blade flickered like the tongue of a venomous serpent.
Facing this intimidating opponent, Lin Fan calmly grasped his hand. A silver thunder staff appeared, humming faintly with low, rumbling thunder.
All eyes on the plains below turned toward the two figures clashing in midair. Everyone wanted to see—was this human who dared act so arrogantly in the Beast Battle Region truly worthy of that pride?
On the hilltop, Xinqing and the other two girls watched the confrontation nervously. The two Nine-Tails girls were pale with worry, looking as if they might cry.
"Xinqing… that's Cao Ying, the City Lord of Blood Python City. He's said to be half a step into Full Completion of the Death Profound Realm. Can Lord Lin Fan really beat him?"
One of the girls whispered, her voice trembling with fear.
That level of power was utterly beyond her comprehension.
Even the strongest person in their Nine-Tails Clan was only at Minor Completion of the Death Profound Realm.
"Don't worry. Lord Lin Fan will win. He's even killed a Reincarnation Stage expert before—though that was with help. But even so, Cao Ying is far from that level," Xinqing said, biting her lip, trying to comfort them.
The two girls were stunned by her words. They looked up at the silver-staff-wielding figure in the sky with reverence in their eyes.
"No one has ever taken people from Blood Python City without paying the price."
High in the air, Cao Ying slowly raised his snake spear and pointed it at Lin Fan. His triangular pupils burned with killing intent as he spoke coldly, "And you won't be the exception!"
As he spoke, his surging yuan power erupted with a howl. A storm kicked up in the skies as he moved like a phantom, appearing right before Lin Fan. His spear struck out in a barrage of deadly arcs, each aimed at Lin Fan's vital points.
Facing the deadly assault, Lin Fan remained calm. With a flick of his wrist, the Thunder Emperor Staff roared with thunder.
In a flash of lightning, countless staff shadows whirled forth, clashing directly against Cao Ying's spear strikes.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Sharp metallic clashes echoed across the sky as sparks flew in every direction. Each clash of weapon and shadow created explosive gales that rocked the heavens. The intensity of the battle made even the most seasoned warriors watching feel shaken.
The two figures moved like lightning, their forms nearly indistinguishable as they collided again and again.
BOOM!
Suddenly, a heavy impact rang out across the sky.
A figure was sent hurtling through the air like a dead dog, slamming hard into the ground.
All eyes turned toward the fallen body—only to see that it was none other than Cao Ying, the City Lord of Blood Python City!
His chest had caved in from a heavy blow, crackling with arcs of lightning.
Cao Ying's face was ghostly pale, and blood poured endlessly from his mouth.
In contrast, Lin Fan floated in the air without a scratch. His clothes weren't even ruffled.
Hiss!
Gasps echoed across the field, followed by a wave of shocked murmurs.
"What… how is that possible?!"
"Lin Fan actually beat Cao Ying?!"
"And judging by his state, it looks like Lin Fan didn't even go all out!"
"Cao Ying is half a step into Full Completion of the Death Profound Realm! How did he lose?!"
"No wonder Lin Fan dares to be so arrogant. He really has the strength to back it up!"
…
"He won! Lord Lin Fan won! Amazing!"
Xinqing and the other two girls jumped up, cheering in relief as their earlier tension vanished.
"Big Brother!"
"City Lord!"
Cao Mang, Lei Zhen, and the other Blood Python City members all turned pale and rushed to Cao Ying's side.
Pfft!
Cao Ying spat another mouthful of blood. His face twisted with pain and fury as he glared at Lin Fan.
"Kill him! All of you—attack together!"
After that clash, Cao Ying finally understood—he couldn't beat Lin Fan alone. No longer pretending otherwise, he issued the command for everyone to attack.
Cao Mang and the others hesitated, but still drew their weapons and began cautiously encircling Lin Fan.
"Since you're all so eager to die... I'll grant your wish."
Lin Fan shook his head lightly. The space around him began to twist and ripple.
The next instant, his figure vanished like a ghost—only to reappear directly in front of Cao Ying.
At the same moment, Lin Fan raised his hand. The air around it warped and condensed into a massive silver space blade.
Cao Ying's face contorted in horror. He frantically raised his snake spear to block the strike.
Crack!
The silver blade cut through the spear like paper—clean, smooth, effortless.
Then, in a flash—
Splurt!
The space blade cleaved straight through Cao Ying's chest, slicing his body in two.
AHHH!
A bloodcurdling scream echoed through the sky.
Cao Ying's body split cleanly down the middle. The cut was so precise there was no blood spilled—only silence and terror.
From the remnants of his corpse, a golden light shot forth—his soul, trying to escape...
