It's just after 4 AM when I wake up, my head pounding like it's been echoing with everything I haven't said out loud. The room is dim; Leilani hates too much light. I glance at her, eyes squinted as I struggle to see my wife's face—the headache is making my vision blurry—but I soon make out her face.
Leilani is curled beside me, her hair spilling across the pillow, her face soft in sleep. Peaceful. Untouchable.
Cute, cute, so freaking adorable!!
I turn onto my side and just watch her. Smiling like a fool. She's right here, her pink slightly parted lips seemingly inviting me to a kiss. If only she knew just how much I'm yearning for her—her heart; just how much I love her… just how much I'm battling to tell her I love her but stopping myself just in case she's not ready to let me in yet, or I drive her away.
